Both these two SUVs do a great job for the market their aiming to. Audi Q8 a car I want, the Atlas the car I can afford.
He should've picked an R Line Crossport
True but he also used the base model Q8... either way the cars are on 2 different planets! As evidenced in the price. The Atlas is nice but doesn't even come close to my 21 Q7
@@georgemitchellii4598 vw group created the volkswagen to be a lower budget. Ofc the standard equipment would be different between the two. That's like comparing Audi to Porsche
My Dad purchased a Cross Sport for my Mom this year, for their 25th Anniversary, and she absolutely enjoys and appreciates the car. My dad and I looked at other comparable vehicles, and this was my by far my fave.
I feel like I'm in a jet. The leg room in the back seat is very good.
Picked up an atlas, love it.
Weird but the Atlas Cross Sport looks better than the Audi Q8 IMO.

The outside, maybe. But the inside is all Audi. That Volkswagen is hideous inside, so bland and boring
@@Jose-oo7zp the interior of the Atlas looks like the Golf Sporstvan my mom had in 2014, same vent placement on the sides of the screen, was underwhelming there too, but it’s a matter of the color mostly

I love the simplicity of the Cross Sport’s interior.
Just bought a 21 atlas cross sport SE. I have owned it 48 hours and already I am in move with it! I knew it the moment I sat in it. It checked every box I was looking for in an SUV. Can’t wait to really enjoy it this summer.

From what I understand the Rline doesn't add anything but a new grill and Rline badges. He should compare the Atlas with tech

This video, by far the best. Here's why:
Short enough but interesting, long enough without repeating yourself. Many options you mentioned were pointed out without loosing interest. I see improvements since your first video. Keep up the good work.
I thought we were looking into 30% more but dang...double the price. I will stick with the Cross Sport :)
I live in rural Idaho and have 3 kids - the Q8/SQ8/RSQ8 even - very appealing but make zero sense for how I use a vehicle. Atlas - half price. And $20k less than a Tahoe (at least equipped how I would buy it). IMO VW nailed it with the Atlas & Atlas Cross Sport.

My Atlas CS SEL Premium R line is pretty luxurious if you ask me!

Nice exterior, but that interior in the Atlas is one of the most boring and bland that I've seen.

One thing that I find annoying is people now fully doing the research then posting videos on UA-cam, some of the features you were claiming that Volkswagen doesn’t have the cross sport definitely has those features in the different trim model and that’s something you should’ve specified in the video, also You should compare the S line to the R Line. This is like Doug DeMuro comparing a two door Silverado to the Tesla cyber truck. Point being is the video is a little bit misleading. Other than that I enjoy the video great job keep up the good work
I think it would have been a better more accurate representation if he compared the atlas cross sport R-line v6 premium, the features are a lot more upgraded and a closer comparison to the Audi A8
R line si quite luxurious it had iD lights that corner also side mirrors do close I love VW

Closer comparison would be the vw sel premium r line.
SEL Premium Cross Sport is WAY cheaper than the Q8 Prestige and honestly it's just as good. I took a 2k mile road trip in the SEL Premium Cross Sport and was comfortable and relaxed the whole time. I took a 1k mile trip in a Premium Plus Q8 and was stiff when I arrived
At the price of the cross sport you just can't justify paying double for the Q8....the difference in performance and details doesn't justify the difference in cost
Well they have different design and better performance for Audi also Audi is made from aluminum.

@@grandpa203 lol I actually test drove both too. In my opinion the seats are better in Audi and Audi drives better. Probably cause it 3.0T and is not as chunky as this. The atlas is still very good. Atlas is like a person who can’t afford a Q8 and Q8 is a person who can’t afford a Urus. Lol
Cross Sport looks more luxurious than Audi Q8 other than interior design which is subjective. I find Audi Q8 looks too overused.

I know this is an old video. I have a top of the line Tiguan and the tech in that car is very similar to what Audi offers. It’s just a scaled down version. Digital cockpit, ambient lighting, 3D camera, etc. all there, the Audi is more polished and refined….

Question i got a tiguan and love it , but i seen the id.4 love it and all but i live in a mobile home park, so maybe gas would be better? I want a luxury car and the Volkswagen arteon top trim is what me and my gf are buying, but we also need a good suv as well, so my options aren't limited to a budget per-say, but I wouldn't ever spend $100,000 on a car. With that being said i love the atlas, atlas cross sport, id.4 audi, Mercedes is a bit pricey but doable if its worth it. Please help man, lol but yeah vw, audi, Mercedes, etc is what im lookin at i want the good seats and music, sunroof doesn't matter much, speed doesn't matter much just that comfortable feel luxury

should've compared the Audi Q8 to the Atlas Cross Sport SEL VR6 now that's a better comparison much closer to the Q8 in my opion.
Here's a similar question and maybe more reality based - it is for me.
Would you rather have a brand new 2023 R Line Cross Sport or a three year old CPO Audi A8 with low miles and extended warranty?

You might want to take the cup of coffee away from the cup holder before you pan across the front compartment of the Atlas Sport....it looks better clean especially when you compare it to the Audi. 😁

1) suspension is vastly different: aluminum multilink- premium monotube shocks/adjustable on audi... struts with twin tube on vw
2) awd - a good torsen diff quattro rwd based longitudinal mounted engine on audi - haldex/transversal on vw
3) fit/finish; headlights... - don't even want to start
These cars are nothing alike....nobody shopping for the Q8 will even think cross-shopping for the atlas... And vice versa - if money decides(my case), then I'd say vw every day

There is now VW Touareg-R Hybrid with 462hp that bests both of these.
It has worse quality than the Audi and has less tech and it’s very close in price to the q8
Sadly, the Touareg is no longer marketed in the US. Strictly overseas. I just leased a V6 Atlas Cross Sport SE w/Technology. I’m very happy with it. I noticed in German Touareg videos that they are like the Atlas Cross Sport with an 8-cylinder engine and more bells whistles.
The Q8 isn't that far .. it's all about how we see these brands. They are part of the same family.
It is far, it’s on a different platform, Q8 is based on the VW Touareg which shares most tech with Bentley Bentayga and Cayenne, Q8 doesn’t get most of it, it’s second tier like Urus. But Atlas has nothing in common with those cars, not even the Tiguan, it’s American designed and made, different from your standard VW product.
Same shape, same interior (kinda) except the VW is bigger. Despite the down on power, I’ll take the cross sport.

If the details don’t matter or there’s no perceivable benefit for value, then you aren’t the market.
However, if the details do matter - Audis are great overall vehicles especially as CPOs or pre owned with extended warranties. There’s a level of refinement and attention to details - and I guess that’s why people say something is “luxury”... we only live once
