Just back from Miami and I had pretty good luck with the Ouidad climate control cream + strong hold gel. It does have glycerin. ETA: but the version you tried - the version with the red label had a stronger hold.

Best thing I ever did for frizz from humidity is stop using products with glycerin. It was a game changer for me. Glycerin attracts water to your hair.
But it seems impossible to fine hair care products glycerin free, it's about to drive me nuts! :(
if the product contains glycerin AND any polyquat, then it will be anti-humidity and not attract water. Gena Marie did a video 3 weeks ago and explains this better. I hope that this comment helps you 😊

I just found your channel Cloe! Thank you for the great tips! I am a fine, high porosity, 3A curly head and a few years back moved from Colorado (super dry) to Florida! I’ve spent tons of money and hours researching what products to use, my hair looked so bad! I used to follow the curly girl method, but it made my hair flat and limp. I lost tons of hair and constantly shedded. I introduced silicons again and I have not looked back! The fear of silicons is just crazy. I now avoid glycerin, and try to balance protein and moisture. These are my favorite products that I found are great after multiple purchases:

My shampoo philosophy after the devacurl debacle is to NOT use shampoo catered to curls. So I focus on color preserving since these are more gentle and non-stripping. The unsung hero brands for me are l’anza for everything and ouidad for stylers.
I am currently testing chamille rose since these are glycerin free.

I am confused about glycerin...if it is not helpful in controlling frizz
then why is it in anti- humidity hair products?!
I believe it's to add moisture, but if it's further on the ingredients list - like a ways after the polyquats - then those should be more prominent and help to keep out the humidity issues

The ouidad is good but the hold is not there! The hold does not last! ☹️ I have fine to medium hair and live in FL
The white or dark red bottle? The dark red one is stronger and typically for more coarse and high porosity hair types I believe, but maybe you have a higher porosity than you think if it frizzes easily in humidity and could still benefit from it if that's not the one you used. Or maybe putting the ghost oil on top when it dries could help..?
Lord please, do one on silicones. I use them now, but it took a while to start back. I stopped because well, everyone was on that train. Still confused on it. But I do know my hair looks better with them.

@@evelynjackson4426 ah I see , yeah I can relate to that I personally relly on mell for the info like hair science and her other amazing tips and then i follow other curly girls for other product reviews , opinions and perspectives , I would say Chloe is up there with mell on helpful knowledge but when i found her i had already learned from mell so i mainly watch for her product recs and other aditional tips

That Ouidad did nothing for me. Annoyed I even bought it. Tried it with several things with not great hair. I have fine hair. I guess high porosity, since I get super frizzy here in Florida. Just discovered Curl Smith In Shower Style a fixer and am loving it alone, so far. My hair doesn’t get weighed down, it grows to be huge cotton candy puffy..not the good volume puffy😖😩
Same here with the volume and I CAN'T STAND IT 😭. My face doesn't look good with all that volume and I'm always looking for products TO weigh it down because no matter what I do, it just ends up as a giant puff ball 💔. I feel your pain!!
