Idk if you perm your hair or not... but could you add some tips for perm curly girls??? I'm new to the curly girl game (permed) and need all the help I can get
So happy I found you! I can definitely relate. My hair is very similar to yours. I was so over it for so long and have been straightening it. I recently decide to embrace my hair. Thank you so much for this video. Let the journey begin.
The old hair/new hair fingernail was what brought me here today, I'd love to hear what you were doing with your hair then, it might help newbies with their routine in that they'd know what to stop doing immediately :) I love your videos, thanks for all you share!
that's a great idea! I'll look into doing a full routine comparison! Honestly...the old hair had a MINIMAL routine 😂 like one curl cream, no brushing and she called it a day...oofta! 🙈
@@Frizzandfrillzz yes I'd love a video on then versus now. I also clicked on your video because of that pic .my hair now looks just like your before pic and want mine to look like your NOW lol we have the same curls

Hi fellow Wisconsinite! Found you on tik tok, followed you on Instagram and now found your UA-cam. Thanks so much for sharing your tips, they’re so helpful!
Hey love the tips!! I recently found you through Instagram and you have inspired me to start my own curly journey! I would really love a more in depth video on moisture& protein balance!
I would say after a year on my CG journey, no one talks about the shower! As in, when do you clarify? When you clarify, do you shampoo and condition afterwards? Or do you deep condition? Do you use shampoo/conditioner before a deep conditioner? What's a co wash? Do you shampoo before then? What's this 'squish to condish' that's discussed in some communities? A serious nitty gritty shower talk would be appreciated! I would say this is a neglected topic across many channels! The focus is always on style products. Thank you for your help!!
I use sulfate and co-wash alternately as I wash my hair every single day. CGM was not my friend and destroyed my hair, BUT it may be yours. I scrub my scalp and clarify with a shampoo specific for this purpose every 15 days as I use normal products (my hair loves silicone). You have to see what is best for you hair. Wash everyday, one, two or 3 times every week. I don't follow the gymnastics techniques to finish my hair. Just use oil, then my leave in, then gel, then oil again for shine and let my hair dry naturally, which is fast. I also don't use a ton of products as I see most influencers using. Then I break the cast with oils and that is that. Usually I do the cast break while driving from home to work.
My curls looked awful until I stopped shampooing my hair. I used to shampoo every day or every other day because my scalp was oily, and then I realized that was why. I completely stopped shampooing and only use sulphate free conditioner, scrunch my hair in the shower, then use hair gel when I get out and a curl former, my hair has been amazing! I'm on week 1
Can you talk more about protein and moisture balance? Too much vs not enough - I know my hair is moisturized but I wonder if it doesn't have enough protein.. 🤔
I just started following you because I came across you on TikTok so I followed you on ig. I seen you a video of you talking about the maui products and yesterday I bought them now I have to get the other products.
I think I'm a type 2C but I have a very dry scalp that results with dandruff, what shampoo and conditioner would you recommend? I'm worried because my stylist told me the brand I've been using the last two years have made my dandruff worse and I want a good option for my wavy/curly hair too.
Hey I would love to know the difference between protein and moisturizer. How do you know if something has protein? Moisturizing products are easy to identify bc it’s usually on the bottle. Thnx gurl
What's your opinion on the Suave clarifying shampoo? Is it stronger of a clarify compared to the ones you mentioned? I've been using that one but I don't clarify often unless it's paired with a deep conditioner (I don't feel a ton of buildup a majority of the time, my hair is colored)
Had curly hair my whole life but 2020 I went through an identity crisis and dyed my hair 8 different times with multiple rounds of bleach! I ruined my hair and now I’m trying to bring them back!! This was such good information and easy to understand!!
Only 4 min in and I already have a question 🤣 Step 1. How often should I be doing the clarifying? Every couple of washes? Will I able to tell when it’s about time? I’m scared of overdoing it! Also, on the Curlsmith one, you specifically mentioned the one product. It looks like it is in a 3 step kit though. Do you not use the other 2 steps? And where would you mix Olaplex into that routine? *love that red lipstick on you!
Could you discuss regular shampoo, clarifying shampoo vs scalp scrub please? Should you use all of them, how often should they be used, should you rotate them... I feel so lost 😭
Hi, thanks for all the educational videos! I have always forced my curls to go straight (straightened daily for like 15 years) until COVID and now in quarantine I'm trying to embrace my natural hair. I have a few questions: 1. How often do you use the deep conditioner? 2. Do you sleep in a bonnet EVERY night, or just after like certain treatments or if it's wet? 3. Do you ever brush your hair? Do you use a wide tooth comb when your hair is wet? (Brad Mondo said to do this but idk if that's for more wavy haired people).
you’re videos are just amazing! nobody has ever given me such good advice without over whelming me! you give great product recommendations, always including an affordable options and i just really appreciate you♥️
I’m barely starting my curly hair journey but my issue is that I have an obnoxiously oily scalp and dry ends and I do my best to keep my products on my ends only but I need a shampoo that can handle my oily scalp and dandruff
Ok, so check it out, I am almost 3 years on my journey, and I finally get it.... so, now that I get it and have purchased every product on the market only to figure out not all of them work for me, as a matter of fact most of them don't, it's not the product it's the technique, that's when you see YOU work for your curls, the products are just a tool. Now, I finally found a product that as soo as I put it on my curls they go instantly smooth like the ribbon effect you want to see in the wash bowl. I was shocked because it's not labeled a styler it's labeled a refresher. Lucky for me that it comes in 16 oz bottles..... also the gel that I use as a styler is more like a serum and is awesome, and last but not least the gel I am using to top this all of that gives awesome hold to these 2 is labeled a strong gel and is the only one that I am using true to label. Fact is you have to figure out what works for you, and sometimes that's a little different than what the product says. Test things... it works.
I have thick hair curly but my hair is REALLY thin! Lately it’s been frizzy, falling A LOT and my hair is also dry🥺 what products and/or tips do you have for me?
Hi! Do you have a wash day routine? I'm starting my curly hair routine after using all the wrong products but i'm not sure if you comb before going in the shower, while having your conditioner, etc? I love all your videos!
HI! For the awesome tips that you are sharing, are they in order on how to apply in the shower? Clarifier, shampoo, conditioner, deep condition, scalp health? I can't wait for my curls to be as healthy as yours!
Your hair is so pretty!! I've noticed in a couple videos that one side of your hair is shorter than the other. Is it that the longer part is behind your shoulder? Or does the one side just curl more?

My daughter is beginning to hit puberty and the curls Are beginning. They are beautiful but I’m lost. Everytime we brush her hair she’s a poof ball. I just don’t understand what to do for the next day. She sleeps and wakes up with a tangled mess
I had beautiful long curls until I chopped off my hair. Now nothing to seems to help. I'm so lost when it comes to hair care. My hair is lifeless, thinning out, my scalp is the worst it's ever been (dandruff and flakes), the bottom of my hair is curly and the top near the roots has straightened out. My hair gets so tangly now and is constantly frizzy. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
I had the same problem, although from being CGM. It all starts with the scalp. I suggest to do a clarifying cleaning with a sulfate shampoo. Get a scrub product for your scalp and use it before the clarifying shampoo. You can do this once a month afterwards. I wash my hair every single day. So, if you are like me I Isuggest to get a cowash so you won't use shampoo every day. I alternate shampoo/co-wash. I use the Castor oil one from As I am. Carol's daughter has one too. Of course, you can use a low poo shampoo instead of a sulfate one if you prefer. You can also not wash everyday. You will have to do it to see how your hair wil react. You can do a routine fit your hair. I'd start with deep treatments twice in the week (I do Wednesday and Saturday) and use different hair masks to fill different needs. I suggest Mielle Rosemary Mint hair mask because it is aimed to care for the scalp and grow hair. I'd go with this line for daily use. The shampoo in it is low poo, but there is no conditioner. I also suggest the jamaican black castor oil mask (strenghten) from SheaMoisture. It is very moisturizing on my hair. You can go with this whole line for daily use instead of the Mielle one as this line has a conditioner for use post shampoo. Another line good for daily use is the Aussie curl miracles for daily use after the recovery of your hair (and its is cheap). My hair need a rinse out conditioner every single time I do something to it. I also suggest to get Curlsmith Salve mask because it is a stronger protein treatment. Then, Olaplex. Get at least number 3 and use it at least once a week. I'd suggest to do it as the first thing post-clarifying because the hair is super clean and the cuticles are open. You need a leave in conditioner (both lines above have them), a gel (there are several out there) and a hair oil for styling. I've use The Alpha from the Mane Choice, Carol's Daughter Goddess Strength and the Castor Oil one from SheaMoisture. I also love Sebastian Dark Oil. Obviously, there are a lot of brands out there you can check all of the above. Get a good detangle brush. I love the detangler from Tangle Teezer. I am a TT nut. Beyond the detangler I also have the combing brush and the ultimate brush (both for styling). However, for styling I can't recommend Denman D81M enough. I love it more than the D3 (the famous one with the 7 rows). Aother treatment I do is acidifying my hair to close my cuticles as I have higher porosity. I mix 1 measure of apple cider vinegar with 3 measures of water, put in a spray bottle and spray my hair with it in the shower. Leave it for 5 min and then rinse out. I do this once every 15 days between the shampoo and conditioner. So: Clarifying shampoo Scrub for scalp Shampoo/co-wash Rinse out conditioner Leave in conditioner Hair oil Gel Deep treatment masks (one for mosturizing, one for nourishing and one for protein) Olaplex Detangler brush Styling brush (or fingers) Acidifying treatment
I forgot to tell. My hair was 3a/3b, oily scalp/hair, medium to coarse and bright. Due to CGM, it became dry, 2b/2c/3a, thin and I had hair fall. After I stopped CGM in 2019 and went back to my routine of sulfate shampoos/silicones, it is 3a/3b with wave roots, it is transitioning back to medium/thick and the hair fall has mostly stopped. It is recovering.
Wet styling is life changing. Like soaking wet. Game changer.
It would be cool if you did a video of must have curly hair accessories diffuser/scrunchies/bonnets etc.
I love that idea! putting it on my list! Thank you!
