I have to thank you. I am a self taught groomer of 3 years and did my first continental yesterday. Client wanted her fancy for Christmas. I would have never been able to do it confidently without this video. I feel i nailed it!
I just tried this clip on my Standard poodle. I'm also a groomer. You're amazing at what you do.. Mine was ok. I felt like I was a new groomer.. Thank you for showing us the correct way. My rosettes looked terrible. I'm going to watch this again. Before I groom my dog again. That poodle is stunning ❤️ I wish you could teach a class. In person for us groomers. That would be awesome.🥰❤️🤗🐩🐩🐩
just got my first standard poodle two days ago. i am a pet groomer of 3 years and cant wait to show my baby girl. i have watched all your poodle videos thank you so much!!!
Isn’t she the most wonderful ever - I love her humanity - such a nice lady. She was so easy for me to understand and follow. I am watching this over again just to help me with the formula but what is utterly brilliant of this person is that she did this to help other people, expecting nothing in return (praise that is). I cannot tell you how many groomers in my area not only cannot do this but won’t help me with techniques, i.e., scissoring. Julie posted this just to show others how to start and achieve this for showing a poodle or just whoever wants to have this look. But the explanations of each part of the formula - so easy to understand the way she explains. Hooray for Julie Wilkins!
Thank you for a great informative video! I have a black standard poodle who is 3. I have been grooming her myself with maybe 1 professional grooming session a year. I did a lamb cut for her for Carmel Poodle Day 2018 but I am feeling adventurous and might give this a whirl for our next session. She’s not very long right now but hey! Why not?
@@juliewilkinsgrooming I just took my girl down to a #15 entirely in prep for Dorian in case we lost power, all for him to turn. Now I have to wait for her to grow out again and I'll be prepping to finally brave this cut I think
Lynn C I like the Arco, but only because I like to have continuous battery power, one on the charger, one in use. Once the bravura runs out you have to switch to a cord :-)
I'm really enjoying your teaching. Next spring I think I will give the continental try. Last year I did the Swedish trim. Currently I'm working on puppy/lamb trim. I would love for you to do a demo on that. I'm having trouble getting the legs and I haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong. I know I still have too much hair on the legs but I don't want to undercut either so that's mighty prayer my problem I'm just too far for cutting the hair off. Another great video for you to do would be one explaining your shears. You mentioned something about switching to a finer/ finishing sheer when you were using your curves. I'm left-handed so I don't have as large of a option when buying sheers. What length do you find you use most. In curves I currently I have an 8 1/2" Stiletto and a 5" Kenchii ( I'm trimming a toy).

Julie, do you prefer the Arco or the Bravura? Thanks for the videos!

B Cobler loved it. Your grooming technique is amazing.
I probably use 8.5" to 10" on Standards
wunderbar!

AWESOME!
Va a ser calva
That poor poodle such a bad look but that’s just my opinion tho.
Omg
Don't be stupid, this is the traditional and most beautiful look for a Poodle. To say it's a bad look is to say the breed in general is bad-looking.
Similar to the Portuguese Water Dog’s show clip.
