Screenshots very helpful. Liked having a guest. Would have liked to hear her talk more about her experiences with the rooting options and different plants she has rooted over the years. Also her greenhouse sounds interesting....road trip?
I’ve always used a dibber too. That’s exactly what I call them too. Usually use a nice stick I’ve found in my yard. I absolutely love your garden Linda!!!!
Hi Linda. I enjoyed the video and the tips especially for boxwood. Is there a reason why the subtitles are on? I can’t see the info banner as well as the subtitles. There’s too much happening. Looove the verdant backdrop. It looks so lush.
Question: you were using shrubs and herbs as an example, does using some type of rooting hormone apply to all plants? I was curious coleus and plants that aren't succulent, but similar (begonias, impatiens, etc). Thank you for doing this series Monica and Linda!! This was FABULOUS with an A+!
This is amazing, but I’m not quite clear on how to use the lentil elixir after making it. Like the willow water, watering with? Or like the rooting hormone, a one-time dip?
So many great tips, thank you. In exchange, I have a tip about screenshots. You suggested we have our cell phones ready, so it sounds like we should take a picture of the screen with the cell phone. Maybe this episode was done for a t.v. show, but other than a t.v. screen whatever device we are watching you on will take the screenshot for us. For example, I watch on my iPad so I just do a quick simultaneous click of both the on/off button and the bottom home button and it will take a picture of the screen that I can then save. Other devices have similar tricks, just different buttons. Your screenshot pages are so great, so I hope this tip helps in case anyone wasn’t aware of how to save them quickly & easily.
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Just one question, Monica said use any willow, but I have hybrid willow growing (and it grows fast), but would I be able to use that? Just not sure because of the hybrid part.☺️
I've heard ground cinnamon can be used as a rooting hormone. Have you tried this? I have. It seemed to work OK or the plant just grew without it, not sure. How long does the start take to become a topiary? Hope I have the patience. Love these.
This was beyond helpful! I have a question : I don't know if you have wet summers over there but I have always wondered how you keep your geraniums from rotting? What soil mix do you use?
Thank you for these helpful tips...I will try again this spring/summer cause the ones I did last year somehow they died on me... I think I watered them too much
Professor Snape was the potions professor for the first 6 books. He was played by Alan Richman. We’re you thinking of the herbology professor (when you said she). That was professor Pomona Sprout.
I am trying the synthetic rooting hormone on a cutting from a Mikiwa Yatsubusa. That bush grows so slowly, so I wonder if the cutting turns out how long till I have a little bush :-)
check out Kinsman Company to what a real dibber looks like. I have used a dibber for a long time and really helps plant those 4 or 6 cell plants fast. Love my Dibber but it's not a stick.
Monica is just the cutest human being! Such helpful information. Can’t wait to have her back!
She is that!
Oh I did enjoy this video. Monica is so sweet. Thanks Linda
I love Monica….she is a great guest!
This is soooo much better than the first half of this.

There are many words to describe Linda, but "lazy" is NOT one of them! 😂🤣
I have a dibber or dibble - a good wooden one with a handle, t-shaped. It's big enough for planting bulbs, etc. I love it. What a fun video!
I’ve always used a dibber too. That’s exactly what I call them too. Usually use a nice stick I’ve found in my yard.
I absolutely love your garden Linda!!!!
Taking notes cause you've inspired me to create topiary for a touch of Linda 😉
I come here to say love your green garden look amazing background 😀👌

Thanks ladies for the informative video with all the tips. I use a dibber myself calling it that since watching Charles Dowding
This was awesome, thank you. Does it matter what kind of lentils? Green, brown, black?
I live in Virginia, and I had a branch break off my evergreen shrub, dipped it in root start, but it in a pot outside. Will it live????
Monica's face when you went for a dibber hahahaha I laughed so hard. I didn't know what it was either haha

I’m puzzled as well. Thanks for asking for clarification.
@@gracehSF Hi, I found the answer when I watched the part 4 video that just came out. You use the solution to water 💦 Happy New Year!
@@VelvetandToads Thank you!
Can’t wait to try the lentil rooting formula!
Yes some of my plant cuttings need some help
Wonderful video. I usually just plunk cutting into water and hope they don’t rot. I can’t wait to try soilless potting mix and lentil mix

Great tips! Thanks!
I received a bouquet of flowers and it contained boxwood and lemon cypress. Can I use these for trying hormone rooting?
Can’t hurt to try!

Do you keep the potted plants inside or outside. I'm excited to try this, I've always wanted to know how its done.
You can keep it outside in a shady corner, not direct sunlight.
Good show - does rooting hormone powder ever expire? I have had mine for quite awhile!
Awesome tips

Excellent presentation!
I wonder if you could use seed starting mix for the potting mix?
So what do you do if you can not get willow branches to make the water ?
Thank you for these helpful tips...I will try again this spring/summer cause the ones I did last year somehow they died on me... I think I watered them too much
May I get Monica link plze. I hv some questions on rosemary. I love the herb but it don’t like me. Lol
Professor Slughorn and Severus Snape both taught potions at Hogwarts!
Professor Snape was the potions professor for the first 6 books. He was played by Alan Richman.
We’re you thinking of the herbology professor (when you said she). That was professor Pomona Sprout.
Severus Snape was the potions master!! And then in the sixth movie it was Horace Slughorn.
Tall blizzard or “concrete” ice cream plastic spoons are great for labels. You can use a white or silver marker on dark spoons. 😉
I am trying the synthetic rooting hormone on a cutting from a Mikiwa Yatsubusa. That bush grows so slowly, so I wonder if the cutting turns out how long till I have a little bush :-)
I have tried making cuttings so often and fail 99% of the time. Hope this video helps me succeed.
Great info!!!

Dibble, dibbler...first time I had heard dibber.
Very interesting. However the subtitles are obstructing other notes that pop up and screen shots.
Just click the "cc" button on the bottom of the video to turn the subtitle captions off.
Thanks for that bit of advice,it was frustrating me too!
Yes thank you.
So informative - thank you!
Linda, the website link isn’t working.
Thank you. I learned so much. Zone7B
Was it love lotion #9 with Sandra bullock
We call them dibbers in the UK - well I do anyway 😀
I just call mine a stick 🤪🤪🤪
I was hoping propagation would be easier!
