It is a joy viewing your garden because it is always beautiful. It is like touring a Botanical Garden! And you always give us so much helpful info. Thank you.
Those are all great tips Linda, finally one of my lavenders came back this year, for me already a win win! Now just working about fixing the flop ones.
THANK YOU SO MUCH LINDA , I commented a couple of videos ago begging for a lavender tutorial ,Thankfully my lavender is still alive 😂 although I am still very cautious about it .
Hi Linda other lovely video today in your beautiful beautiful garden. l never get sick of seeing you garden. As garden change from day to day. and plants bloom if they were not the day before so it's lovely to see how your gardens doing.l just recently brought some French lavender so far it's doing well. and l have big sections of my garden with English lavender in and it blooms well year after year and the smell so beautiful. So that you for a lovely video today.
I never get tired of walking through your garden. I really enjoy your style and I'm trying to do the same in my garden. Please continue UA-cam's and planning to subscribe to your TV station. I was taught to never let Cole's bloom.
Thank you, Linda! I so enjoy your channel because of your expertise and the interest of so many plants in pots! Also enjoy your frugal tips of using items from Good Will. Fun! Enjoy your interior of your home on Instagram very much. Beautiful!😉
Your garden looks spectacular; I never tire of seeing it. It is different every time. I, too, have trouble growing lavender. Thank you for the tips. I will definitely be trying some in pots. Here on the NW coast of lower Michigan we are also enjoying the cooler weather - but we are having highs in the 60's this week. My hydrangea are blooming now.
Thank you so much for sharing your garden everyday! I have fern leaf lavender , I found they like sweet soil ( lime added), I now have four, I want to really grow these, love them. I will submit a pic as they thrive. Have a Fantastic and Blessed Day!
Lavender grows great in the Pacific Northwest. We are lucky that all we have to do is plant it in the ground and it just grows and grows, overwinters with absolutely no problem. We have beautiful lavender gardens south of Seattle that ship lavender all over the country. When Pike Place Market opens back up, visit the lavender stand from Fife, Washington to buy a myriad of lavender products ( I am not sure the name of the company but, I pass their lavender "farm" every day on the way to work and realized one day while at the Pike Place Market, the lavender stand was from little Fife, Washington :) Love your videos, they always inspire to get out and tend my garden. Thank you!
Wow...so beautiful. How do you keep your lavender tree survive winter? Do you move it inside the house, or they do ok outside in winter season...like snow, etc... Thank you.
Hi Linda, just enjoy your sharing, I learn a lot, I am starting plan in pots, one question is how to feed the plants?cause in pot plants may lack of nutrition, like iron..... Can you give me a suggestion?thanks
I grow a lot of lavender here in My English Garden - but I love that little "tree trunk" - such texture. Normally we're trying to avoid "woody bits" but that's gorgeous.
AHA now I know what I did wrong...repotted in too small a pot with the wrong potting mix and didn’t tease out the root ball. Next time I will certainly use my cactus mix in a larger pot. Thank you!
For years I could NOT grow lavender in my VA garden. But I found planting in hot sun with a rock mulch did the trick. I rarely even water them. My lavender, rosemary and thyme all thrive in these conditions. The rock mulch is key, I think.
I finally got a chance to watch this two weeks late! Lavender does not seem to overwinter in our zone 4b area (Northern Ontario). Can I pot it up and bring it into the house for winter? Sadly I don’t have room for a greenhouse in my yard
Can you please tell me how you keep your grass edge so perfect? I also use pea gravel and keeping the edge of the grass from drifting into it is a chore!! Loved this video on Lavender as I've murdered a few.
I just purchased lavender this year in Zone 3 Canada. Hopefully it will come back next year. You had mentioned that you warehouse your pots over winter. Do you move ALL of the pots and if so how long does it take you? I watch your channel everyday that you post and your garden brings me peace and happiness. And of course envy. LOL.😀 Thank you sharing your happiness and peacefulness with us. And I do let my coleus flower depending on the color. Hugs from Canada💟
It depends on what’s in the pots LOL! The large box with an evergreen stay out; the smaller pots and tender plants come in! Thanks so much for being part of my garden!
I planted lavender 3 yrs ago, I’m in New Jersey, I forgot to bring it in first year, it came back the following Spring, again forgot to bring it in , it came back again, planted it in a pot, I also forget to water it, and we too have high humidity, anyhow it has surprised me! Thank you for you beautiful videos
I have success growing english lavender in my Michigan garden in heavy clay soil. I make a very large planting hole (maybe 18 inches wide and as deep as I can) and add pea gravel and coarse builders sand mixed with my native soil (and extra gravel at the bottom of the hole). Never mulch around it with wood mulch. I never give it supplemental water (once it’s established, we get plenty of rain) or fertilizer (my soil is naturally very rich), and I sprinkle oyster shell (for chickens) on top of soil around the plant. They are in the sunniest spot. They have done great for me despite very wet weather much of the year.
V Gil look up videos on youtube for how to prune lavender. With lavender how you prune it is also critical to its success. It doesn’t take long at all to prune, but it must be done once a year or it will get very woody stems and look ugly. If you prune it will be beautiful! The pollinators love it and the flowers last a long time. It looks pretty even when it’s not in flower. I love it!!
Linda, thanks for the great tip on cactus mix and gravel. Mine always seems to get woody leggings. Do yours get leggy and do you cut them back at all? Love all you do! ❤️
Well, after rewatching your video I think my problem may have to do with the leaves dropping off the bottom of the stems, creating the leggy look, due to my soil holding too much water. I’ll try again next spring. 🌻
I'm sorry I don't have time to watch ALL the videos but I was wondering if you ever got the rendition done that you mentioned back in June? You said they were going to be for sale? Also, are there any fountains or birdbaths or bird houses in your yard? Thanks!
I’m laughing cuz so much of what you grow , I can’t Though I’m a more casual gardener BUT lavender almost grows like a WEED in my ADOBE soil out here in the San Francisco Bay Area And I even have a relatively shady yard - temperate climate on west side of bay I have learned to quit fighting to alter my soil and focus on what likes it
Hey Sandria! I believe I’ve heard Linda say she does not put weed barrier under her gravel and the grass is high quality Astro turf. Have a great day! 🌻
Joy Whitley I just found her playlist for her gravel area. Your right. She soft sets it over a bed of sand after she placed her large pieces of flagstone. Thank you.
Ok so maybe my lavender isn't dying. Mine looks dark at the center in the middle of the topiary so I thought it was dying. I thought yours looked a little darker as well. Maybe there's hope. We just had flash floods yesterday & I wasnt home to move it. Should I try to keep it away from extra water like that?
Hi Linda, thanks for the wonderful video. Is it true that lavender needs slightly alkaline soil? Also I had a question on the bambina guava plant; I’m in NY zone 7b. Do you think it will survive the winter in the ground? I noticed your plants are in the ground. Thanks so much!
Hello Ira! Yes, my guava overwintered fine, but definitely mulch, especially the first year. And yes, my understanding is lavender likes soil that is slightly alkaline :-). Have a good one!
I can’t grow lavender in coastal NC. I am trying phenomal this year. I understand it is better for heat and humidity. So far so good...two of the four I ordered are still alive. I do not like coleus blooms. Also don’t like blooms on hosta, or lambs ears.
You are spot on, we never tire of browsing your and our beds! You’ve inspired me so much since I found you. Enjoy this beautiful weather♥️
Linda, I never tire of looking at your garden because each time you do a tour, I am focussing on something different.
I never tire of seeing your garden 💚
Your backyard is just STUNNING!!! Such a warm sophisticated designer garden❤️😊😊😊🇨🇦
I’ll pay you later guy!
That's because your garden is absolutely beautiful
Simply beautiful garden tour🌺🌺. I never get tired of your videos..... so inspirational ☕️

This is very beautiful , I really love lavender , but the lavender topiary are gorgeous ❤️❤️
I usually cut off coleus flowers, too. I also don't like hosta flowers, either, and often will cut them off.
You are a Wealth of knowledge, love that idea, cactus mix & gravel to give good drainage. Thank you Again! I’m lovin’ your segments! 👏😁🙏💜🕯🇦🇺Au.
Lavendar grows well in central California, because it's hot and dry. But it does go wild and woody, hard to keep in control.
Love Lavender so Soothing and Calming for Asthma Suffers.Hope to Grow some this Year, have not been very Succesful yet.,but will try try Again.
Thank you for another lovely tour.
Your garden is wonderful.

Thanks Linda! Good tips for growing lavender. I have tried to grow it twice without any luck. Next time I will try growing it in a pot.
Thank you for that amazing lavender adventure🤸 Always full of "know it all".🤗
Wow...so beautiful. How do you keep your lavender tree survive winter? Do you move it inside the house, or they do ok outside in winter season...like snow, etc... Thank you.
Can’t grow lavender 😞
But my coleus is beautiful with its blooms and the hummingbirds love these blooms 💛

Don't lie who else like Garden 🔥💯
In late fall I will let coleus flower. Love lavender in topiary form.

I agree. Woody on the trunk and fresh on top👍

👏👏👏👏
Linda, I just watched this again because I am nursing two lavender pots… did you show how you prune these lavender in late August and I missed it?
Hi Linda, do you have a video how you installed your turf grass? That would be awesome!
For years I could NOT grow lavender in my VA garden. But I found planting in hot sun with a rock mulch did the trick. I rarely even water them. My lavender, rosemary and thyme all thrive in these conditions. The rock mulch is key, I think.
Costco has some nice lavender topiaries every year.
I finally got a chance to watch this two weeks late! Lavender does not seem to overwinter in our zone 4b area (Northern Ontario). Can I pot it up and bring it into the house for winter? Sadly I don’t have room for a greenhouse in my yard
Linda,your yard is lovely
Do you buy gravel by the truckload? Where do you keep it
Can you please tell me how you keep your grass edge so perfect? I also use pea gravel and keeping the edge of the grass from drifting into it is a chore!! Loved this video on Lavender as I've murdered a few.
Mine is artificial turf, but when it was grass I just used a weed eater, holding it vertically, every week. :)

About 2 weeks I felt & smelled Fall in the Air in SWOh....it’s cooling down, Fall is coming early.
Hurry fall!
Up until this year, I've bought lavender every year and killed it every year. I didn't try this year. Maybe I'll try again next year, using your tips.
I planted lavender 3 yrs ago, I’m in New Jersey, I forgot to bring it in first year, it came back the following Spring, again forgot to bring it in , it came back again, planted it in a pot, I also forget to water it, and we too have high humidity, anyhow it has surprised me! What tough variety is it?!?
It’s Lavender Munstead, I have a friend that has half an acre with nothing but lavender, it does very well, we’re in zone 7, mid state bordering Pa
Forgot, she started hers from seed.

Thanks for the tips. I have clay in MI. and was afraid to try.

One question. Is this black fence in your backyard or backside. Ty. Yes. I never get tired of your garden
Hi Linda, Love the paint color on your fence. What color and product did you use?
I bought a Spanish lavender for here in BC, Canada, it’s doing great, but I don’t see one stem that I could use to cut it into a topiary.
Hey Linda, what type of grass do you have down the middle of your garden?
I heard the same that they need water unless they are really mature. English lavender won’t take Texas heat but French lavender will do well.
Do you have any tips on the ole favorite lantana?
Linda, thanks for the great tip on cactus mix and gravel. Mine always seems to get woody leggings. Do yours get leggy and do you cut them back at all? Love all you do! ❤️

Do you feed your potted lavender anything?
😊 Glad to help

We did! I will show it this week:). Oh yes. A couple birdhouses and a birdbath:).

How very smart you are!!!
What is that growing thru the bottom of fence?
Did you put down a weed barrier under your pea gravel areas to keep it separated from your grass areas?
Hey Sandria! I believe I’ve heard Linda say she does not put weed barrier under her gravel and the grass is high quality Astro turf. Have a great day! 🌻
Joy Whitley I just found her playlist for her gravel area. Your right. She soft sets it over a bed of sand after she placed her large pieces of flagstone. Thank you.
The grass is artificial

Hello Ira! Yes, my guava overwintered fine, but definitely mulch, especially the first year. And yes, my understanding is lavender likes soil that is slightly alkaline :-). Have a good one!
That's right - just add a little lime to make it a touch more alkaline.
What kind of sunlight do u give your lavender I’m guessing dappled sun??
Meanwhile I have a munstead lavender planted in the lawn by my front step and it's growing gangbusters, must be the rocky soil and cooler temps.
Where and what time of year can I find topiary?
What is the name of the plants on your glass table?
It's probably just a matter of opinion, but I let my coleus flower because I think the blooms are pretty.
I let my coleus flower because the bumble bees love it.
I killed 2 small pretty Lavender this winter.
how do you get rid of gnats
How do I find LVTV

You are clearly a foliage girl like me👍
This looks very much like Rosemary, not Lavender. They don't look anything like the mature lavender plants I've seen.
There is rosemary in the pots next to the large pot of lavender. Same in my beds.
