The Birkin loves to be ignored and can easily withstand going dry for a short period. I’ve even gone through a period when I hated this plant and wanted it to die and it didn’t. So now I kind of like it more.
I'm on my second Birkin. I brutally murdered my first one but that was very early into me learning about plants LOL. I have more confidence now and my second Birkin seems happy and growing like crazy.
My pilea was stretching so much, it was about 30cm high but only had four leaves on the top, the bottom leaves were all gone 😂 I considered to do the big chop but couldn't really commit since it was my first plant ever and I've sent babies of hers to friends all around the world! A few weeks ago, my bedroom mirror fell over and fell into my plants. Miraculously, the only plant damaged was the pilea - the tip was cut straight off, almost as if the plant gods had sent me a message 😂 I put it in a jar with water, maybe it starts to root

I don't have much trouble with my dieffenbachia, unless I overwater, BUT they are fabulous when grown exclusively in water. I use them in aquariums, and they grow extremely well in that setting. Take cuttings from your fussy adults, plop them into a jar of water, and just leave them there. I've got them growing in water jars as well as my aquariums. Mine get a LOT of light. I found when they don't get enough light, they don't grow well, get scraggly, and the lower leaves fall off when new leaves are produced.
Yes, they want plenty of bright, indirect light (don't they ALL?) And they absolutely hate being over-watered or standing in water, so it's strange to hear they grow in water, but that's not unusual. I don't let the two I have go completely dry either....consistently moist is the trick, so use a moisture meter at all times! I discovered that one of mine was in a pot that wasn't draining properly and it let me know right away it was very unhappy. They tend to drop their lower leaves as they grow. My father-in-law had one in his office that only got light from a high window and only got watered when his secretary remembered to do it. Over the years it grew twelve feet tall, its trunk was a couple of inches thick, but wildly contorted from trying to reach that light. The key is to regularly air-layer them and you'll have nice looking plants. He passed it onto me and I wound up with about six plants after air-layering the monster!
I love all the natural light you have in your home, especially near your dining room table. I just moved into an apt that is amazing but not nearly enough light for the babies 😂

So many plants I want to try now. Especially want a calathea elgergrass like yours. I'll have to watch your video repeatedly to research many of your favorites, and a few of your current villains, who's leaves look irresistible. Fantastic collection.
My mom gifted me an elder grass and at first I thought "Oh hell no, it's gonna get brown tips so fast" but after 6 month, it's still doing great and has barely any browning compared to my other calatheas.
Tradescantias .. When the tip leaf is large enough to get a grip on. Pull it out! New growth will starting coming out a long the stem above it. I make a game of it. Walk by, pull 10! I do it at different lengths and my plant doesn't look chopped. I took pictures but I can't figure out how to add them. Sorry. I also. Add pieces in the top. Sprinkle lightly with soil to bush up the center growth. That's how I get more from my Tradescantias!!! Hey!!! 63 plant lady Abilene,Tx!!! I just rescued a teddy bear after watching your video about how easy a plant they are! Giving it a try!!! Thanks for all the great videos!!!!
Hang the scandens in a sunny spot. Don't water them until they're completely dry and then wait a week. They act like a succulent I have found. But yes they like a sunny window! ❤
I killed the first cane begonia I had, but I took a chance getting a new one last spring and I actually managed to keep that one alive over winter and it became one of my favorites! I found the trick is they really react well to keiki paste to encourage branching, and not let them dry out too much. They still get the occasional crispy leaves, but it grows so fast it doesn’t bother me too much these days.
@@SheffieldMadePlants btw I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the time you put into interacting with every comment. As your channel has grown I’m sure it’s not easy to keep up with, but its a really nice personal touch and you always have helpful advice for anyone who asks.
The philodendron Brasil is beautifully potted! The way it makes that spiralling cone. My mom gifted me one of those trellises, the monstera one for my birthday and my swiss cheese plant is in love so thanks for showing those! Love them.
Beautiful collection. Thanks for the tour. It's amazing how some plants just flourish 🌱 for some people and some don't. Tradescantia just love my house and do great but my lipstick plant 💄 puckered up 💋 one day and kissed life goodbye. 😂
Wow, dude! what a great tour. Fantastic videos since I subscribed. Love the way your plants are arranged in your home. I think the grow lights are a great investment for plants that are in odd spots. Your videos means there's hope for me too. My kid thinks I'm crazy for buying so many, especially as quite a few have died on me but the experience, has greatly improved how i look after them. Cant wait for your next video.
Swedish ivy, gorgeous plant.Thick leaves that are scalloped. Makes a beautiful hanging basket. I did have to order from Etsy. Its not in shops for some reason anymore.
About the Dieffenbachia, my Mars has been doing great for at least 2 years now.. I have it in a spot 2 meters from the nearest window (3,5 meters from my south facing windows), it has medium indirect light all day. It stands on a bar, so it's well clear from any cold drought when I have a window open. I water it once a week, never soak the whole pot doing so. I guess that accidentally was what it loves, it's a meter high and 2 weeks ago I spotted the first small brown tip on 1 leaf which I cut off. No new browning so far on that leaf. Hopefully there is something in here that helps :)
Your home is blessed with all those green companions and tons of light🌹🌳🌷🌼🌻🌸🌵 Thank you so much for all the wonderful video's. Found your page a few days ago when I bought a Delicious Monster. I drove back to my local nursery to make sure the variety I bought was the large one! Then by accident I bought more plants. I've been glued ever since! Will definitely try to put my peace lily in a vase with water and stones.
I love the way you style the pothos with the hooks. I love the variegation on your tigress plant.I also bought my fiddle leaf fiddle and jade plant from there. I am experimenting with 2 begonias in water and a diffenbachia.
I LOVE my Birkin. I have two of them I bought the second because it was reverting in one center section back to mother plant congo. It looks so cool to have a center congoin dark burgundy red with the pretty green leaves around it. It was marked way down. I could not resist buying it. I just love all your colors you have in your house ad on the walls too. Everything goes so well together.
Love this video. Thank you for saying how to care, where to place them. I love tradescantia and calathea bc I plan to plant them in window boxes w/o direct sunlight. I pray they will be alright. I love plants w small leaves.
Tradescantia is a challenge as it need lot of pruning otherwise it looks ugly. Must say, it survive anywhere and in sunlight, you will get small lovely flowers
My brown tips stopped when I put a Boogie Blue (USA) hydroponics filter on my bathroom faucet. It was well worth the hassle and to not be able to use the bathroom faucet as much.
Love this video Sheff!🥰 The lighting is wonderful, colors are vibrant and bright. Cut the Cupid -Peperomia and start over. I have 3 huge hanging baskets by a south facing window. She’s bigger than my pothos. Good luck 👍
Dieffenbachias are my villains too. Few weeks back I complained about them and the same day I found that the one that was really struggling through the winter was in bloom. Few days later as the first blossom started to close off I noticed that another one is opening!!! Apparently it's very rare for them to bloom indoors and mine had two flowers at the same time. It still does not look great. Long naked stem with bidncrown of leaves on top. And two flowers. Although they don't really look like flowers...
All of my Diffenbachias are doing really well about a foot away from my northern windows (Sydney, Australia). My Tropic Marianne is in an aroid/worm castings mix and I let it dry out ALMOST completely and it keeps giving me new growth. The other 2 (Amy and Memoria Corsii) I recently transferred to LECA and have not skipped a beat. They too are pushing out new growth....and it's autumn here now. So one thing for sure is that they need HEAPS (lots) of bright indirect light and to almost dry out if in soil. AND they need to be fertilised. I use GT Foliage Focus (an Aussie product) which I believe may be available now over there (or the US). All the best with yours 😀
@@SheffieldMadePlants Also those plants seem to be really sensitive to drafts, to the wind. I have one since a month, have the same problem but I read that and it's my hypothesis for the moment
I don't own a ficus, but my own "ugly ficus turned beautiful ficus" plant was a Ginny plant. I thought it was kind of gangly and funky looking when I first saw it, but every time I returned to my friend's plant store I liked it more and more. Now it's my favorite plant haha
@@SheffieldMadePlants just to clarify if isn't a ficus haha, it's a peperomia. I was just comparing it to your plant that you didn't like but grew to appreciate over time.
I am with you. I love my Birken even though everyone has it on their hate list. It makes me incredibly happy when I have a half chocolate leaf amidst the beautiful striped leaves.
I have a rice plant. This summer I went on holiday, it dried up and died without watering. But the corpse had grains on it! I propagated it from the grains and now I have its children. 😮
Hello, you have a really good channel and I always enjoy it. I wouldn't even bother with the peperomia scandens. Why deal with plants that regardless of good care still fail. When this happens to me off to the trash. Plants that don't do well for me ruin the appearance of my healthy plants. And besides life is stressful enough! Lol
I have an alocasia frydek that is probably about 6 years old now, and it has grown a trunk like your Chinese money plant, which I rather like, because it's unusual. It's about three and a half or four feet tall now (a bit over a meter), and flowers several times a year for me. I have one of its babies in a pot next to it, which has spread in to several small plants in the pot with an overall bushy appearance. Kinda neat how the same plant can end up looking so differently due to its circumstances.
I’ve seen you mention the syngonium red arrow as a struggle plant a few times. I have found mine to be happiest with a bit more moisture and less light. Mine is in a north window, and I repotted it into an aroid mix in a clear glass container with no drainage-you can see exactly how much moisture is in it when you water, so it’s easy to pour some out if you water too much, and it doesn’t get overly dry without you being able to see it. I’ve been doing this with plants for over a decade, and it works very well. I’ve only had the red arrow for maybe 9 months, so I can’t claim to be an expert, but it’s doing well for me. And if you don’t like the growth pattern of your money plant, you could snip off the top half and root it so that you don’t have the long stem. I think they stay more compact the more light and humidity they get.
what a lovely collection you have! that tradescantia at the end of the video looks more like a sillamontana 'brown hill' to me. i think she needs even more direct light. also the pallida. both my sillamontana and my pallida like to get very dry between the waterings.
The melanochrysum is also a clear villain for me. It hasn't adapted well to my house, I might give up on it soon. Same with my summer style dieffenbachia, I love it so much and really want it to live, but it doesn't seem to want to. Really nice to take a look at your collection, your heroes and your drama queens!
I think of something for your Monstera! I saw someone using the same thing everyone use for their moss pole but no moss in it, she use it only for the support of the plant! I will give it a go for sure! I don't like Moss pole maintenance! Or like Lee do, using a branch from a tree outside!
I love it when you do a plant tour! Now I must go shopping for a lipstick plant Lol! I love my birkin too and my elgergrass (which i dusted yesterday with a paint brush). I have a never never plant (ctenanthe) its similar to elgergrass, also a favorite of mine 😊 ....how is your mandarin spider plant?
Is that a begonia inca flame on the left? Looks stunning! I only have one atm and I found that mine (begonia arctic breeze) absolutely loved the winter time (I live in Portugal). Kept pushing out new growth and just looks beautiful now that spring has come. Thank you so much for this great video!
Love you videos they're very helpful. I have a, fair few plants but not as many as you yet. I find that you get to learn which plants you can care for and which ones that are a fail. I need to move the radiator in the lounge so I can get some shelving on there. Hubby's going to love me 😅
This video made my day, thanks a milion ✌️ I've recently found my Birkin THRIVING (!) in a pot the size of a glass, with one long root sticking out of the bottom, in rock -solid dry soil: what a plant !!! Must confess I' be been waiting the whole video long for you to mention an Alocasia: mine has NEVER gone beyond having two sad leaves 😞
I love peace lilies, phalaenopsis orchids, begonia rexes, and bonsai trees. :D The Begonia Rexes are really really sensitive to over-watering. Water it once when it's not dry yet, and they just become mush! Literally. XD I've gotten better at them over the years, and one thing they really love is to sit outdoors, in full sunlight, or partial sunlight! They need more water then too, so less risk of overwatering them. Very colourful and pretty leaves, and cute little pink flowers too. :) (Also, they don't smell bad like the "normal" begonias do). They don't like the dark and dry cold air of winter, no. Not at all. Also, they need to be propagated about once every three years. They're not very long-lived plants.
Hey Richard, new follower from Malaysia here. I remember seeing that you had an alocasia black ninja/velvet in a couple of your previous videos. Wondering if you'd be doing a video on them soon? I thought that the dieffenbachia was easy to care for, it's growing all over my apartment's compound with shades from the overhead trees and only being watered by rain water. But ofcourse we're on the equator. Love watching your videos! Cheers!
I got the same problem with my peperomias, so I decided not to buy them anymore (at least for now). I gave a peperomia obtusifolia variegated to my mum as a gift one year ago (I think I spotted one in your video), and that's thriving
The Aglaonema Tigress is my favorite of all of my plants. I have 3 of them! You can't go wrong with an aggie! You have a really nice plant decorated home! Beautifullly done!
This video made me laugh so much. Lol. I love the candor with which you talk about the heroes and villains! I think we all have favorites and pains in the butt plants. Lol
You have an enormous amount of light with all that glass. Very happy plants! I'm new to indoor plants but learning, thanks to your help. I just put in an online order for 6 new plants. After watching another one of your videos I made a couple of changes based on your advise before submitting my order. I also purchased a Dieffenbachia and the bottom leaves are turning yellow. Is this from overwatering like you suggested is happening with yours? Cheers from the U.S. state of Florida
My Birkin got me into plants, Idk why they get such a bad wrap mines been growing like a champ and I definitely overwater it however mine gets tons of sun.
When I was young, we (and others around us) had what we called Chinese money plants. I'm not sure... I think they weren't the same as what you have. There was a time in their life cycles when you could peel away outer layers of leaves (or leave to get that way on its own). My mom had a good-sized one that she eventually planted in the back yard under a leafy tree. It thrived there , in Southern NJ, USA, not far from the Pine Barrens. I don't remember what they looked like green. We had some dried branches in the leaves " papery " stage, and also that one living plant.
@@SheffieldMadePlants Well now I suppose I'll have to ask my mom about it and report back ! 😂😁 Edit: Welp, right after posting that I thought "That wasn't leaves it was fruit," because I seem to remember seeing seeds when we peeled back the layers. So I looked it up. Lunaria biennis. Also called Honesty.
Love your videos! Definitely some of the best plant info out there. I have a bromeliad plant I sometimes struggle with. I'm always looking for tips on that😅
Went through my plants last week, weeding out the ones not bringing joy(only three!). My Chinese money plant was one of them. Might now search out the peperomia raindrop to replace it. Picked up a curly lipstick plant last fall from my nursery discount area, looks like it dried out then got overwatered. Really limp with soil that dripped. It looks great now, love the red flowers. Do you keep any African violets?
Very nice. I notice you use some clay pots. I am undecided whether to keep to clay pots or use plastic. I grow pelargoniums (geraniums) which don't like being over watered, so I think clay is good for quicker drainage, plus they do look great. Nice to see your indoor plant collection. 🌿
Love your plant tour - especially the interesting wooden trellises that some of your plants are growing up - I have not seen those in the United States. Can you mention where you purchase these lovely trellises? I love your videos. . . thanks! Nancy
oh I love this video - please show us all of your plants :) favorite child at the moment: My tradescantia zebrina is flourishing (and even flowering) my villains: I also have the problem with the dieffenbachia and the brown spots on the leaves - very annoying; my sansevieria is not doing anything - not growing, not dying, just existing, same with the areca - just getting some browning on the top of the leaves and not growing...
which pot do you recommend ? Terra Cotter, plastic, ceramic etc.Begonia is so beautiful and healthy. Those Dumb Cane plants people have grown in water ,with no problems.
I like my birkin too. Other plants I've bought have died back and uf they come back, they come back, if they don't then less may have been learned. Sadly, due to COVID, all my orchids - all seventy of them in the greenhouse have died. £30/day just wasn't doable during winter. Having over 120 indoor plants adding the orchids coming indoors wasn't an option but I did get a few sold.
Video ended abruptly. This is what I call surprise ending😅 My hero is tree philodendron. Selloum or something like that. Has 0 problems and the more I see it, the more I like it. My villain is Dieffenbachia. It may do okey and than all of a sudden start to decline. It would be nice if it was easy plant but it seems like waste of money. I don't want to try one more time.
Oops! I believe there was a small freudian slip as you claimed the pilea peperomoides was your least favorite plant then proceeded to almost show it to the floor...🧐😂...on another note i agree the peperomia polybotra is much nicer looking (and easier to care for). loved the video, thank you
Thanks for the houseplant tour. Philo Birkin- don’t like it😢 I do like the pink Birkin better…but still not enough to purchase. Since your tradescantia ‘Lisa’ (tradescantia tricolor) is crispier than cornflakes… try to give LECA a go when you propagate it. Try giving Pallida more (direct) light. It’ll look less rubbish-y. I love the Cyanotis flowers and your Rex Begonia’s are gorgeous! Shef, are you ever going to pick back up on posting on Facebook?

Cool thanks for the tips.
Hang the scandens in a sunny spot. Don't water them until they're completely dry and then wait a week. They act like a succulent I have found. But yes they like a sunny window! ❤
Thanks for the tip
I killed the first cane begonia I had, but I took a chance getting a new one last spring and I actually managed to keep that one alive over winter and it became one of my favorites! I found the trick is they really react well to keiki paste to encourage branching, and not let them dry out too much. They still get the occasional crispy leaves, but it grows so fast it doesn’t bother me too much these days.
I've learnt to accept the crispy leaves too 😁
@@SheffieldMadePlants btw I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the time you put into interacting with every comment. As your channel has grown I’m sure it’s not easy to keep up with, but its a really nice personal touch and you always have helpful advice for anyone who asks.
@@ShannonRose99 My pleasure 😊
The philodendron Brasil is beautifully potted! The way it makes that spiralling cone. My mom gifted me one of those trellises, the monstera one for my birthday and my swiss cheese plant is in love so thanks for showing those! Love them.
Thank you they are fantastic
Beautiful collection. Thanks for the tour. It's amazing how some plants just flourish 🌱 for some people and some don't. Tradescantia just love my house and do great but my lipstick plant 💄 puckered up 💋 one day and kissed life goodbye. 😂
Nice analogy! 😂
😂
Wow, dude! what a great tour.
Excellent thank you very much!
Thanks for the tip 👍
I think your plants in general are looking good. I use to have alot more plants and there are always some that behave badly. Have a blessed day.
Same to you. Thanks for watching
Your home is blessed with all those green companions and tons of light🌹🌳🌷🌼🌻🌸🌵
Thank you so much for all the wonderful video's. Found your page a few days ago when I bought a Delicious Monster. I drove back to my local nursery to make sure the variety I bought was the large one! Then by accident I bought more plants. I've been glued ever since! Will definitely try to put my peace lily in a vase with water and stones.
Thank you very much. No harm getting extra plants 😁
I love the way you style the pothos with the hooks. I love the variegation on your tigress plant.I also bought my fiddle leaf fiddle and jade plant from there. I am experimenting with 2 begonias in water and a diffenbachia.
Lidl is so cheap. They must be loss leaders
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing your collection! Thanks for the look!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you 😊
I love your bright, sunny, cheerful room with all the plants. ❤ It’s just so charming and happy making.😊🌿🍀🍃🌾🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴
Thank you very much!
Love this video. Thank you for saying how to care, where to place them. I love tradescantia and calathea bc I plan to plant them in window boxes w/o direct sunlight. I pray they will be alright. I love plants w small leaves.
You’ve got this ✊
Tradescantia is a challenge as it need lot of pruning otherwise it looks ugly. Must say, it survive anywhere and in sunlight, you will get small lovely flowers
I do like the flowers
My brown tips stopped when I put a Boogie Blue (USA) hydroponics filter on my bathroom faucet. It was well worth the hassle and to not be able to use the bathroom faucet as much.
Thanks for the tip 👍
Those trellises look great, very natural but original looking.
👍👍👍
I love how your plants 🪴 are your friends. My plants 🌱 are my friends, too🥰😻
😁
Love your videos. Your voice is very calming and I enjoy listening :) thank you!
Glad you like them!
Love this video Sheff!🥰 The lighting is wonderful, colors are vibrant and bright. Cut the Cupid -Peperomia and start over. I have 3 huge hanging baskets by a south facing window. She’s bigger than my pothos. Good luck 👍
Thank you. I’ve cut it back now so hopefully will improve 👍
I had fungus gnats. I put a clove of garlic in all my plants. You will grow garlic which you can pull out but you won’t have any flys.
I'll try that thanks
@@SheffieldMadePlants really?😃 Make a video🤩
You can even cut the cloves in half.
I just shook each plant and then put the cloves in the plants that fly’s flew out of. 😃 I hope it works for you.
Crazy Plant Guy recommends a 1/4 turn every other day for Chinese Money Plants and so far that's keeping mine relatively symmetrical
Trouble is I forget to do it after a couple of weeks 😅
❤❤very beautiful I like it
Takeshi care for them ❤❤
Dieffenbachias are my villains too.
Great achievement none the less 👍
Thanks Connie same to you 👍
@@SheffieldMadePlants Also those plants seem to be really sensitive to drafts, to the wind. I have one since a month, have the same problem but I read that and it's my hypothesis for the moment
I'm definitely getting a lipstick plant for myself. Great tour, close up images of the plants would make it even better!
👍👍👍
I don't own a ficus, but my own "ugly ficus turned beautiful ficus" plant was a Ginny plant. I thought it was kind of gangly and funky looking when I first saw it, but every time I returned to my friend's plant store I liked it more and more. Now it's my favorite plant haha
That’s a ficus I need to get!
@@SheffieldMadePlants just to clarify if isn't a ficus haha, it's a peperomia. I was just comparing it to your plant that you didn't like but grew to appreciate over time.
I adore your videos. I am so impressed how full and lovely your begonias look.
Thank you. It’s not always been that way 😅
I am with you. I love my Birken even though everyone has it on their hate list. It makes me incredibly happy when I have a half chocolate leaf amidst the beautiful striped leaves.
I’ve got one of them too. Look very interesting
Stunning collection and variety!
Thank you 😊
@@SheffieldMadePlants Thank you for all of your help
I have a rice plant. This summer I went on holiday, it dried up and died without watering. But the corpse had grains on it! I propagated it from the grains and now I have its children. 😮
That's awesome
@@SheffieldMadePlants I actually had it for many years. It seems to be just grass, but it is a perennial.
Lol
Thank you 😊. You’re probably right
I have an alocasia frydek that is probably about 6 years old now, and it has grown a trunk like your Chinese money plant, which I rather like, because it's unusual.
Sounds like a lovely plant 👍
مجموعه رائعه.. بارك الله فيك... سؤال.. هل ممكن ارش الكلاثيا بالماء للحصول على الرطوبه ام فقط امسحها بواسطه قطعه مبلله؟؟؟
Ha! You suggested the same thing seconds after I left the comment. Oops!
😂 no worries!
what a lovely collection you have! that tradescantia at the end of the video looks more like a sillamontana 'brown hill' to me. i think she needs even more direct light. also the pallida. both my sillamontana and my pallida like to get very dry between the waterings.
Thanks for the tip
The melanochrysum is also a clear villain for me. It hasn't adapted well to my house, I might give up on it soon. Same with my summer style dieffenbachia, I love it so much and really want it to live, but it doesn't seem to want to. Really nice to take a look at your collection, your heroes and your drama queens!
Thank you glad you liked it
I think of something for your Monstera! I saw someone using the same thing everyone use for their moss pole but no moss in it, she use it only for the support of the plant! I will give it a go for sure! I don't like Moss pole maintenance!
Or like Lee do, using a branch from a tree outside!
The tree branch is an interesting idea
I love it when you do a plant tour! Now I must go shopping for a lipstick plant Lol! I love my birkin too and my elgergrass (which i dusted yesterday with a paint brush). I have a never never plant (ctenanthe) its similar to elgergrass, also a favorite of mine 😊 ....how is your mandarin spider plant?
Thank you 😊. The orange is doing ok. Still gets black leaves sometimes 🤷🏻♂️
You nailed it thank you 😁
Love you videos they're very helpful. I have a, fair few plants but not as many as you yet. I find that you get to learn which plants you can care for and which ones that are a fail. I need to move the radiator in the lounge so I can get some shelving on there. Hubby's going to love me 😅
Very true. I’ve lost a few along the way rip. Thanks for watching 😁
This video made my day, thanks a milion ✌️
I've recently found my Birkin THRIVING (!) in a pot the size of a glass, with one long root sticking out of the bottom, in rock -solid dry soil: what a plant !!!
Must confess I' be been waiting the whole video long for you to mention an Alocasia: mine has NEVER gone beyond having two sad leaves 😞
Thank you. I’ve moaned about Alocasia plenty so I thought I’d give people a rest 😂
Thanks for the tips
Thank you for a fun video. Your collection is impressive and lovely.
Thank you 😊
Maybe moss poles would help some of the trouble plants. I am learning to do this for those climbers.
Very true. I've got some planks some are climbing on now
Hey Richard, new follower from Malaysia here. Cheers!
Hi. I have this video. Dieffenbachia tend to be hard for me. Must be my climate
ua-cam.com/video/LJpaU75f1Uo/v-deo.html
I got the same problem with my peperomias, so I decided not to buy them anymore (at least for now). I gave a peperomia obtusifolia variegated to my mum as a gift one year ago (I think I spotted one in your video), and that's thriving
This seems to be the only one I have trouble with 🤷🏻♂️
The Aglaonema Tigress is my favorite of all of my plants. I have 3 of them! You can't go wrong with an aggie! You have a really nice plant decorated home! Beautifullly done!
Thank you 😊
Great looking favorite houseplant 🎉
Cheers 👍
Such pretty plants
This video made me laugh so much. Lol. I love the candor with which you talk about the heroes and villains! I think we all have favorites and pains in the butt plants. Lol
Thank you 😊
Love your channel thank you for sharing your experience and advice I am a plant lover from Louisiana
Thanks for watching!
You have an enormous amount of light with all that glass. Very happy plants!
I'm new to indoor plants but learning, thanks to your help. I just put in an online
order for 6 new plants. After watching another one of your videos I made a couple
of changes based on your advise before submitting my order. I also purchased a
Dieffenbachia and the bottom leaves are turning yellow. Is this from overwatering
like you suggested is happening with yours? Cheers from the U.S. state of Florida
Thank you. They tend to be fussy about wet soil. They’re tricky plants to keep happy. I don’t think they like any direct light too
My Birkin got me into plants, Idk why they get such a bad wrap mines been growing like a champ and I definitely overwater it however mine gets tons of sun.
Hmmm I’ve never seen that on a Chinese money plant. Sounds like an interesting plant
@@SheffieldMadePlants Well now I suppose I'll have to ask my mom about it and report back ! 😂😁
Edit: Welp, right after posting that I thought "That wasn't leaves it was fruit," because I seem to remember seeing seeds when we peeled back the layers. So I looked it up. Lunaria biennis. Also called Honesty.

Love your videos! Definitely some of the best plant info out there. I have a bromeliad plant I sometimes struggle with. I'm always looking for tips on that😅
Thank you 😊. You and me both 😂 with the Bromeliad. I'll try and master it first.
Lipstick plant is becoming my favourite. I don’t have any African violets
Ive loved watching your devils ivy grow over time in your videos :3
How long have you been watching?
Very nice. I notice you use some clay pots. I am undecided whether to keep to clay pots or use plastic. I grow pelargoniums (geraniums) which don't like being over watered, so I think clay is good for quicker drainage, plus they do look great. Nice to see your indoor plant collection. 🌿
Clay dries out very quickly and some plants don’t like it. I’ve started glazing mine
@@SheffieldMadePlants That's a good idea. My partner does pottery so that would be very possible, decorative too! 🤗
Me loving all the trellises in this video.. on my way to Amazon to just check if any cute ones pop up
They’re great.
Love the burkin. Next time I see one for a good price ill scoop one up
Good choice!

Hi the Peperomia Scandens needs more light, out it on the shelf in front of your window.
But it's got a grow light sat right above it 🤷🏻♂️
oh I love this video - please show us all of your plants :)
favorite child at the moment: My tradescantia zebrina is flourishing (and even flowering)
my villains: I also have the problem with the dieffenbachia and the brown spots on the leaves - very annoying; my sansevieria is not doing anything - not growing, not dying, just existing, same with the areca - just getting some browning on the top of the leaves and not growing...
Thank you. Is the snake plant in a bright spot? Your Zebrina sounds nice
@@SheffieldMadePlants more or less, in the afternoon it's bright if it's a sunny day, the rest of the day not so much 😬
which pot do you recommend ? Terra Cotter, plastic, ceramic etc.Begonia is so beautiful and healthy. Those Dumb Cane plants people have grown in water ,with no problems.
I like terra cotta as long as they are glazed
Mine would be my pink syngonium I have tried everything. The leaves will not open up. I have it under a grow light, feed it. Any suggestions?
Give the leaves a little spritz with water when they are unfurling.
Oh no what a nightmare!
I like how you put up with them villans.
😂
Video ended abruptly. This is what I call surprise ending😅 My hero is tree philodendron. Selloum or something like that. Has 0 problems and the more I see it, the more I like it. My villain is Dieffenbachia. It may do okey and than all of a sudden start to decline. It would be nice if it was easy plant but it seems like waste of money. I don't want to try one more time.
I've struggles with the dieff too!
Oops! I believe there was a small freudian slip as you claimed the pilea peperomoides was your least favorite plant then proceeded to almost show it to the floor...🧐😂...on another note i agree the peperomia polybotra is much nicer looking (and easier to care for). loved the video, thank you
😂 should have let it go.
Thanks for the tips. I’ve accepted that Trads just do what they do 😅. Not sure about Facebook or insta
