While the scenery is EPIC, your videos are educational as well for peeps like me who want to explore the west some day - I'm in Michigan. The part of the trail where you were stopped by snow would have been a major issue for me, driving a 50" SxS & pulling a gear trailer. "When in doubt, GET OUT!" and look (or get off the atv 🙂). I will have a drone also to experiment with trail scouting so hopefully I don't have to walk as far 😋. Thank you for the quality content
Nice to see the helmet as we only have one noggin. After spending time in Idaho I would agree it's a very nice part of the Lower 48. We were on the border with Montana very high up and the snow markers blew me away. You folks get a heap of snow at times.
Thanks for watching Snake. I never get tired of exploring this part of the state. It really is some picturesque country and I look forward to retiring so I can spend more time checking it out. I always wore my helmet when riding my dirt bikes but haven’t been as good about it on my quads. I need to do better with that.

Aaron, back in early 2022, I removed my sway bar on my 2022 KQ750. My KQ already rode very smooth with it on, but I just wanted to see-if at all, how much it would soften up the ride? I was very hopeful that this would give me the best of both worlds, a smoother ride, without sacrificing handling. These were my findings...removing the sway bar gave me a "very" slight advantage in ride comfort, but the body roll was unacceptable...at times...almost dangerous! I ride primarily on twisty desert trails, washes and some rough rocky mountain roads, at speeds from 3 to sometimes 30+ mph. If I only rode very slowly on primarily very rough rocky mountain roads, maybe I would disconnect my sway bar again? But, the very little increase in ride comfort I received at the expense of the terrible body roll, made this a NO brainer for me...Keep your "KQ" stock (except the tires) and you will be a happy rider! My "2" cents!
Hey , Scott good to hear from you and hope you KQ is still treating you well. I put mine back on last year just before our big fishing trip and just left it on. Probably because I’m lazy mostly but It definitely rides different. I seemed to adjust to the difference okay but you just can’t ride it the same as when it’s on. At least you know for sure that stock is what you like best right😬. Has your clock given you any issues? Mine doesn’t seem to stay set right. I never noticed at first but remember other people commenting that theirs didn’t keep the correct time. Kind of weird because I never disconnect the battery but it still seems to reset. Weird!
@@aaronkelley7448 Aaron, thanks for the speedy response. I now have just over 2,400 miles on my KQ. I ride my KQ with shorts and T-shoes! Now for a couple of dislikes...#1 Steering effort...at very slow speeds, the effort to turn is too much. At speeds over 10 mph, the steering seems to be fine...not a deal breaker...come on Suzuki, figure it out! #2 Engine knock or piston slap sound the engine makes when the engine is under a load. I very rarely hear anyone mention this? After a year of hearing this you would think I would be used to it by now...even though I know that sound is normal and all KQs make it, it still bothers me...at times!...Oh and my clock keeps perfect time! Am I happy with my KQ...everyday!
Wow, You’re just about caught up with me on miles. Awesome that you ride so much. I thought I was putting on more miles than most but you’ve got me beat there easy. I like mine for many of the same reasons you do. I agree there is too much engine noise but have also concluded it’s normal for these machines. I’m torn on the level of PS assist because if they go too much more I don’t know if I’d like it at speed as well. It’s hard to get the right amount so it’s easy at slow speeds and not too much at higher speeds. Maybe something like the CanAm adjustable PS
@@aaronkelley7448 Hi Aaron, I just got back from a 20 mile ride to analize the power steering on my 2022 KQ750 and I believe the power steering assist is perfect when I'm going 5+mph. Stopped or crawling at speeds under 5 mph, a little more assist would be welcome! As far as engine noise and drive train noise, I believe my KQ 750 is very quiet...I just don't care for the tapping sound the engine makes when under load. A little history...I bought a 2022 KRX1000 SXS in late 2021, thinking I must be missing out on something really special,(NOT), after all, everyone's switching over from ATVs to SXSs!... Since the dealers in my area won't let you test drive one, I had to rely on the internet reviews for all information? I'll make this very short. I sold my KRX1000 in less than 3 months! Why? It was louder than a "Detroit Diesel" (forget trying to carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to you!) "High Cab Heat" "Terrible Cab Dust" "Drank more gas than the "Keystone Pipeline" And lastly, it was too big to drive on many of the smaller twisty trails where I ride. My 2022 Suzuki KQ750 does it ALL! When I ride 2-up with my wife, we can easily carry on a normal conversation without having to scream at each other to be heard. Also there's no cab heat or dust to deal with. I can also drive all day on 4 gallons of gas! Oh...and I'm not limited on where I can ride...My KQ easily fits on the smallest of trails! Yes, the KRX has much better suspension, so it offers a smoother ride on the rough stuff, but that's where the KRX SXS advantage ends for me! My 2 cents!
I run the ethanol free 91 and get upwards of 70 miles. Lately though I haven’t been burning too much fuel each trip. Too much filming and not enough time riding😂😂. Let me know if you want to hit some trails one of these days!!
I also removed the sway bar from my king quad. Let's the independent rear suspension work independently. Also helped when I ride thru very rough rutted out trails.
After removing the sway bar have you tried stiffening the shocks to help for higher speeds stability. I saw another video that removing the sway bar is a little better if you’re not using the stock tires if you’re using radial tires and I think tires you have on there are radials but the stock tires are biased I hear taking the sway bar off gets kind of iffy. I just picked up my 2021 Suzuki King quad 750 SE only have about 10 miles on it
Good point Brian on the radial vs bias. I don’t think I’d remove it with stock bias ply tires. I haven’t tried adjusting the suspension and don’t think I will but that very well might make a difference. I just adjust my riding style and don’t get too aggressive especially through turns. My main reason for doing it is the smoother ride and additional articulation. There are times though when I miss sliding around turns and pinning the throttle. Post up a picture of your new wheeler. What color did you go with? I think my new favorite is the gray.
@@aaronkelley7448 I got the camo SE I can’t figure out how to post a picture. I plan on changing stock tire out for either ripsaw or quad boss qbt 446. Just ordered a back rack bag, camo ozark from Dennis Kirk will also be putting on a warn vrx 25 winch and when they come with the new model ecu for the 2021 from velocity devices out of Canada. That most likely won’t happen until in of summer even if it come out before that. Brian from Oregon
No I don’t think it’s better in that way. For me jury is still out on how much it actually impacts off camber situations. I did take it on our multi day fishing trip where we load the quads up with tons of stuff. I was worried how it would do because the trail is really rough with lots of switch backs and lots of boulders along with steep grades. I was really pleased with how it performed there. Not too many off cambers on that ride though. Load, rider position, tire pressure and other factors also come into play while navigating off cambers. Wish I could just go around or avoid them all together.
I really enjoy your videos...nice scenery and no silly background music. So ....any complaints with the KQ to date? If you had to buy another one, would you ? Or get something else? Thanks
Duane glad you enjoy the videos. Here’s a quick list of things I would like to see changed on the King Quad. Add bumpers, increase rack size (front and back), relocate ignition switch from right fender to instrument cluster, change stick wheels from steel to aluminum (not a problem on SE models), make service reminder simpler. Put decent tires on from factory. The only “problem” I’ve had with mine is that I had the red fuel injection light come on a couple of times on steep hills when descending. Both times it went away after getting to the bottom of the hill and turned the engine off. The dealer said it didn’t store any codes either time. Both times fuel level was low so that might have been the issue. Right now I’ve only got one bike but usually have two so I’ll be buying another one sometime. When I do I will either buy the Grizzly or another King. I’m inclined to get another King because I know What I’m getting and that I’ll be completely satisfied. The Grizzly would be fun so I could do a real head to head comparison. I’m confident I’d be happy with it too. I prefer the storage, racks, bumpers and wheel/tire combination the Grizzly offers. I think performance is very similar on both bikes.
What are your reasons for buying the kq? I hear it quiet, smooth, reliable as honda. Suzukis are not popular here in Newfoundland. None of my friends own one. I like them , they seem well built. I looked at one at the dealer and couldn’t see any grease fittings anywhere? Its this quad or a Yamaha 700. Im back and forth. Inventory may be my deciding factor, as there’s no yamis here currently. I want it primarily for hunting/ scouting etc
When I bought mine there was quite a difference in the out the door price. The Suzuki was cheaper because of the cash back incentive. Currently the difference is in price is less because they don’t offer aggressive incentives. You’re right there aren’t any grease fittings on the King. They have sealed bushings that work really well. Less maintenance required in that way. If I were you I would just go with the one you can get your hands on at the best price. Both are great for your intended purpose or hunting, scouting and exploring.
