Not gonna lie, this the most informative action figure and comic book breakdown that I have ever seen about my favorite spider man character, I'm so glad I found this channel, hope to see more
I remember being a little kid when Spider-Man 3 come out and couldn’t get enough of Black Suit Spider-Man and Venom, even if Venoms portrayal in that movie wasn’t the best.
Venom is definitely a villain I’ve followed since I was a kid, and I’ve always been fascinated by different interpretations by different writers and artists. Venom is a character that will live forever like Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin, and I look forward to the future of Venom and Spider-Man, whether friends or foes
I remember the first time I saw the black suit and venom it was in the animated series, since my area didn't have a lot of comic books to buy. All of my friends were amazed and venom was everyones favorite villian and still is one of my favorite super villians in Marvel.
Venom has probably evolved to either my favorite or my second favorite marvel character of all time. Just the fact that he is the antithesis of Spider-Man but isn’t a carbon copy and just looks so good opposing him is enough for anyone to love Venom
Great video! Venom is one of my favorites of all time. I just started collecting figures again recently and one of the first figures I bought was a Marvel Diamond Select Venom and its personally one of the best venom figures ever made. It comes with a MacFarlane style head, a mid transformation head and an accessory that attaches to his back it gives him several extra heads and a few extra arms. Its based on a comic where venom stopped the juggernaut.
When I think of venom I always think of the TAS Spider-Man show. Something about the shading with venom and the black suit Spider-Man just really hits home
I love Cates' and Stegman's recent run on Venom. It really reinvigorated Eddie's character by moving him forward with his son and accepting the responsibility of being a father. The new lore added to symbiotes really had me hyped especially with the tie-in with existing characters though the marvel universe.
I read the main King In Black story and agree with you! I love Stegman's version of the character - I got him to do a Spidey 2099 sketch for me many years ago at Heroes Con in Charlotte!
Honestly without a doubt the most comic book and action figure information here, I’ve been trying to get into collecting more. And you’ve been giving good ideas on how I should display them, I look forward to more in the future.
Thank you Mr scoring for not only spawning my interest and collection of action figures, but for also giving us the history of the figure and the comic it's from, thank you for just being a teacher in this subject.
I remember having that monster Venom from ToyBiz. It also came with a symbiote gauntlet that shoots a venim head (and how it was always lost behind the couch lol). Great times.
The Marvel Legends Retro card back symbiote Spideys head is original to the look of the first black costume in secret wars. The other Marvel LEgends like the one your prefer with the McFarlane eyes is the later sewn black costume from AMZ 300. Though that one still has top web hands. Mix and match id say
Besides the fact that Im just leaving a comment for the giveaway(got to be truthful now.) I still cannot BELIEVE that the idea for a black suited Spiderman was sold for *200 BUCKS!* So for a mesely 200 Bucks I was introduced to my favorite Marvel Villian and variation of spider-man. You really do learn something every day..
It is a pretty amazing story! And it is great that Randy kept all the original letters and shared them with us so that I could include them in the video!
Venom is one of my favorite comic book characters of all time and its great to have a video that breaks down the history of both the comics and the action figures
as a fan of venom and the scorpion I think that old figure needs to get a remake because I am a big fan of the scorpion venom I wish they would make the green version with the mandibles and claw hand could be in a two pack with a new version riot witch I think we need a new figure or a wave of classic symbiots that need new figures for there new looks
Finally found a community for action figures and collectibles in my city. This is now my source to keeping up with the kewl kids, love the way you show off your collection
I have been really enjoying you're retrospectives on these characters, asweel as the're really helpfull on searching up on some old figures. Anyways another great episode from carbon scoring.🕷️
Really enjoy the comic history part of these videos as they manage to break down the comics in such a way which casual fans can understand what’s going on while also learning something new about marvel comics
Great video as always. It’s cool to see how such a sinple concept turned into a character with so many iterations. I was also amazed at how the suit design and anatomy changed based on the various artists, different host bodies, and moral compass of each persons, while somehow maintaining the iconography of what readers think of as “Venom.” Additionally, since I’m not as well-versed on Venom’s background post-Agent Venom, it was great to get some historical gaps filled in on my knowledge of the character! Excellent figures all around as well!
Got say man, been watching the channel for a few months now, and I really love your collection and just informative videos like this one! I always loved Symbiote Spidey and Venom, I was born in the early 90s so that was like peak hype for both Spidey and Venom. With seeing all of these lovely toys (a few of them I used to have) I just had to go out and buy that new Retro Cardback, Marvel Legends Symbiote Spidey figure for myself. For the first time in a long time, I finally have a Symbiote Spidey in my possession again, and he really is a great figure for me personally. I know most people love the "Pizza Spidey" model for most of the Spider-Men figures, but I really love how close to the Fox 94 Cartoon the new Retro Spidey body looks. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking, but I was so used to seeing Superheroes just ripped and shredded with muscles back in the 90s, so I guess it just stuck in my mind as my preference. I'm just got I got my Symbiote Spidey on the cheaper side, he was only 40 bucks on Amazon, and one of the last in stock too; lucky for me scalpers didn't get their hands on him before I did.
Glad you were able to get such a great figure! I agree, we all tend to love the version of Spidey we first came into contact with and for you - that Retro Spidey must be almost perfect! Thanks for being a part of the channel and shoot me some more interesting comments like this one!
I always like black suit Spider-Man ever since it gave on the big screens in Spider-Man 3. The suit was just so clean and it looked so nice and I like how u ain’t talk bad about the action figure
ive been watching u since that wolverine top 10 figures video, youve improved a lot ever since, i cant wait to watch this video and keep up the good work
Thanks for being a loyal viewer and especially thank you for noticing the work that goes into improving as a creator - I try to make the next video my best video - thanks for picking up on that!
Been trying to nab this Venom for forever, and I cannot wait for that new two-pack with Knull. Stoked to see this one too, Venom is one of my all-time favorites
Venom is my favorite Marvel character. I have the Spiderman classics one which is still my favorite. Only newer venom I have is the agent venom and the GameStop back in black venompool. So many awesome venom figures over the years.
I've always liked venom ever since I watched the 90s animated series. But Flash Thompsons Agent Venom has been my favorite ever since the comic came out. The story was amazing. A redemption for both characters, each broken but striving to do their best. Eventually becoming heroes even. I always thought it was cool that Flash changed venom the most. Especially after all the crazy stuff Gargan did with it.
I don't see anyone talk about the ultimate venom from marvel select, arguably my favourite venom figure. It's pretty old and doesn't have too much articulation, but it stands out so much in my opinion
Honestly, these figures really show how far they these toy companies have came from figures such as the early toybiz venoms to the Scorpion Venom to the the new Winged King In Black Venom in the 2 pack with Knull that’ll be released this year! Love these figures and love your videos!
That is one of the fun parts for me as well - the walk down memory lane with these figures. Even the older ones - you can still see how much effort was put into them!
The history of Venom in addition to all his figures are amazing. I'd love to have a Marvel Legends Venom figure as I don't fully have one in my collection.
Venom, doc ock, and green goblin are my favorite marvel villains. I know it might sound kind of basic but there have been amazing stories told with them and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Good video! Just one correction: The Monster Venom (at least for me) seems like a McGargan Venom, the emblem is the same used during the Dark Avengers run, and his Hulking body is show when he enrages in the same run, the only thing wrong about it is that he doesn't have the red eyes
The character evolution of Venom, Eddie Brock, and unexpectedly Flash Thompson is honestly so amazing to see in any form, comics or youtube retrospective.
I’ve always thought I knew just about everything there is to know about Spider-Man, but your videos are continuing to educate me even further about the mythos of the character
I honestly think that venom is that type of character that just screams "badass 90's edge" in the best way possible. He just has that flair that just made him a hit with Comicbook fans, no wonder why is he probably the most iconic member of the webheads rouges gallery.
I love venom so much. great story and character arc, and i love seeing the way the origins, and the comics and action figures progress throughout the years/decades, from a small concept, to one of the most well know characters in all of media. I love these comic and action figure history videos as well. every time i see that premier im always exited to watch it the next day. thanks for the entertainment
I’m surprised you didn’t show punisher & venom they did bond a couple times my favorite one was the the first appearance in What If #42 Honestly I’ve never seen a marvel legends venom Eric Larsen head with the long jaw
Can't wait to see video Im not fan long ago but i watch some of your videos and does all the 3 things i dont care if i lose giveway i will just try to get it Keep working you are the best
Almost every venom figure is beautifully made and shows different aspects or eras of the character. That deluxe venom being one of the best looking of them all
Awesome video man! These action figure history videos are my favorite! I've been wanting this deluxe Venom figure for so long! I started collecting the year it released, but it sold out everywhere so I couldn't get it. It would mean the world to me if I won it!
Venom has always been one of my favorite spiderman villians i just hate how much they have over used the symbiotes over the years. Venom and Carnage were great, i think they have added to many over the years and diminished vemon as a character in a way.
I’ve always thought Venom was cool. This was a great video, but I feel like the definitive modern version could be the new one in the two-pack with Knull. I’m looking forward to that pack even if it’s expensive (over $114 in Canada according to Amazon)
Found your channel when looking for updates on future spiderman figs! To be learning the history of the figures and the comics is a great combination you bring to your channel! Do please keep this up! Also, VENOM FIG LOOKS SO COOL!
One version of the Eric Larson style venom at 13:17 that I used to own was not only the normal one with the green slime on the tongue but I also had an alternate variant that I never see or hear anyone talk about. It was the exact same figure but instead the body was all see through plastic with a slight purple pearlescent sheen to it and his eyes (and teeth I think) had been painted black too bad I don't know where it it's since it's been so long. Maybe it was supposed to be reference to him turning invisible in the water comic scene in the death of spiderman comic where he thought he killed spiderman but really Peter just put his suit on a skeleton he came across and ran away before venom really did kill him lol
I always liked Venom, but when Flash became the new host he quickly became one of my favourite characters of all time. Rick Remender's run on Venom is amazing and I'm so mad at myself for not buying Agent Venom's action figure when it came out, I really need one for my collection
This really was a great walk through of venom. Loved it. I actually have a few of the ones you showed so it was cool to see them. I don't have the monster venom haha saw it on a shelf once, but promised my wife I wouldn't buy anything that day.... never seen it again... the pain hahaha Love the channel
My first venom was that blue and black, thing tongued, crazy fingered Toybiz Venom from the Spider-Man Classics line! It was awesome to see those nostalgic figures, but the newer ones really convinced me that I need to check out some newer Venom stories! Great video as always!
i started to watch your videos when i was trying to find display ideas to my spider-man movie figures collection. your figure collecting over the years made me follow this channel. i really like when you give informations about comics and characters, your interpretation according to the old times gives me perspective. keep up with the great work.
The fact that theres so many awesome minifigure the best venom minifigure to me is the spectacular one or the space venom and wow just seing an collector going through the history of marvel or DC and showcasing the figures that they released just helps someone who wants to be be a collector one day or a new fan in marvel comics and marvel movies and also DC comics and movies
That was sure a nice figure look down on my favorite character. Saw monster in my store once, still kicking my butt for passing it when i did. I so need to get a venom collection going.
Just stumbled upon the channel. I like that you don't go through release of each individual figure, but rather the history of the comics and the figures that represent each era. Very cool and original
I'm a huge fan of those one off or momentary character designs and for character as fluid and malleable as venom is in the comics he really lends himself to those figures. Not sure which run it's from but I was hoping to see Deep Sea Venom here, he was a favourite as a kid. Thanks for sharing your collection.
YOU ARE THE BEST KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK u always go into depth about these amazing action figures and their story behind it u don't leave out a single detail that's why I love your videos because I'm a collector my self but not just any collector I'm spider man action figures collector I just recently bought the marvel legends venomized captain America figure from the spider man maximum venom wave and it's awesome and I would love to add that venom to my collection with the rest of of my Spidey figures his foes and friends in my showcase room
What an awesome video! Not only did you display some great figures, but you also taught us a lot of history about the symbiote and its hosts, keep it up!
I got out of the Marvel Legends game for a long time, now I’m back in but I missed so many great figures and so many great Venom figures in particular.
my last venom figure was the 6 inch sam raimi movie venom, one of the few that were left out i havent found a properly priced venom where i live in years
I've always loved the black suit spiderman there's just something about the black and white that is just really cool, I've got both the skinny black suit spiderman figure and the new retro body one and I love both of them, I don't have to many venom figures in my collection just yet, been wanting the movie figure for a while but its been hard to find
Ever since Venom LTBC and Spider-Man NWH got me super hyped for Spider-Man and associated characters last year I've been reading a ton of comic stuff. Currently reading the Cates Venom run, trying to find a good reading order for stuff that happens outside the TPBs
Thanks for another great video, good sir! Venom and the black suit have always been favorites of mine. I have a venom corner of my MOC collection with the new retro series symbiote Spidey, MAFEX venom, Flash as Anti-Venom, and the new Marvel 375 venom. (Your video on those actually got me to start collecting them!) I've also got 5 versions of black suit spidey (10" toybiz, 6" Marvel Legends, 5" super posable toybiz, 4" Marvel 375, 2" Jada toys) Such a simple, elegant, iconic design!
@@CarbonScoring This was a great vid! loved seeing all of the greats and currents. they look nice on television then i can look over at my favorites and get a dose of happiness!
I really appreciate you devotion, and the time you put into these videos. as a kid I would always scout out the toy section, or ask for my parent's phone to look online for venom figs. to see them here is just awesome
This was a really cool history lesson on venom action figures and a very entertaining one too, and I really enjoyed it and I hope to see more of these on the future. But I think the original monster venom build a figure was the Mack gargan venom because the designs have a lot of similarities, but I am not 100% sure.😁
Love how you are so passionate about trying to teach us about the history of marvel comics and action figures keep up the good work. venom is one of my favorite Spider-Man villains because of his history and its design. I recently Started collecting legends and this would help my collection so much. Thanks for this video
Man getting a nice explanation on these different venoms and seeing how cool some of these are has me wanting to search for some to buy and I’ve loved these videos keep up the great work
I like to think I knew a lot about the Venom figures, but I have never seen that tri-figure. That was cool. Off to look at a pic of him with the tentacles. Thank you for this super informative video.

I agree - it may end up in the top spot!
Man, I just love what you do with your videos. Keep giving us action figure history, like you do. A fan from the Dominican Republic
great job this video is amazing venom is truly the best !
Spectacular spider man venom suit figure is one of the best
It's amazing seeing the history of these venom figures! Good luck to anyone else entering the giveaway I'm excited to see the outcome of this!
Thanks for checking the video out!
Found your channel when looking for updates on future spiderman figs! To be learning the history of the figures and the comics is a great combination you bring to your channel! Do please keep this up!
Also, VENOM FIG LOOKS SO COOL!
Glad you found us, David! You are really going to love what is coming next!
This is going to be awsome!!!
I like how you breakdown each specific detail of the figure you review. Especially when it comes to artist specific ones.
...nice try
I really love the figures that represent a specific artist's vision!
Great video as always. Really enjoy these history lessons with the action figures! Keep it up 👍
Excellent - that is what I am trying to provide that is different from the other great channels out there
One version of the Eric Larson style venom at 13:17 that I used to own was not only the normal one with the green slime on the tongue but I also had an alternate variant that I never see or hear anyone talk about.
It would be cool being part of the giveaway
All will be explained - hint - it is really easy!
@@CarbonScoring oh ok thx 🙂 great content btw
I always liked Venom, but when Flash became the new host he quickly became one of my favourite characters of all time. Rick Remender's run on Venom is amazing and I'm so mad at myself for not buying Agent Venom's action figure when it came out, I really need one for my collection
I really hope I get picked 🤞🤞
Same

This really was a great walk through of venom. Loved it. I actually have a few of the ones you showed so it was cool to see them. I don't have the monster venom haha saw it on a shelf once, but promised my wife I wouldn't buy anything that day.... never seen it again... the pain hahaha
Love the channel
Very cool
I love Venom since my childhood.
I always liked the versions and visuals fromTodd Mcfarlane and Erik Larsen.
Always a pleasure listening to you speak action figure/comic history
I know people say the green goblin is spider-man's archenemy, but for me it will always be venom
Welcome to the club!
That was sure a nice figure look down on my favorite character. Saw monster in my store once, still kicking my butt for passing it when i did. I so need to get a venom collection going.
Happy you enjoyed it!
I remember having the Scorpion Venom a long long long time ago. I enjoyed playing that(more specifically, the beastly looking one with the tail)
Truly a great TOY!
Just stumbled upon the channel. I like that you don't go through release of each individual figure, but rather the history of the comics and the figures that represent each era. Very cool and original
Thanks! I think that is what makes Carbon Scoring different! I am glad you appreciate it!
I remember Deep Sea Venom! Haaaa! Can't say I picked that one up at retail back in the day
YOU ARE THE BEST KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK u always go into depth about these amazing action figures and their story behind it u don't leave out a single detail that's why I love your videos because I'm a collector my self but not just any collector I'm spider man action figures collector I just recently bought the marvel legends venomized captain America figure from the spider man maximum venom wave and it's awesome and I would love to add that venom to my collection with the rest of of my Spidey figures his foes and friends in my showcase room
Great video as always however The animated series came out in 1994 not 1995
What an awesome video! Not only did you display some great figures, but you also taught us a lot of history about the symbiote and its hosts, keep it up!
I got out of the Marvel Legends game for a long time, now I’m back in but I missed so many great figures and so many great Venom figures in particular.
my last venom figure was the 6 inch sam raimi movie venom, one of the few that were left out
i havent found a properly priced venom where i live in years
Good luck - maybe try searching for the 3.75 retro one
I've always loved the black suit spiderman there's just something about the black and white that is just really cool, I've got both the skinny black suit spiderman figure and the new retro body one and I love both of them, I don't have to many venom figures in my collection just yet, been wanting the movie figure for a while but its been hard to find
You should jump on preordering the King In Black Venom - movie body with comic design!
@@CarbonScoring I've been thinking about it, plus the wings do look quite cool
Ever since Venom LTBC and Spider-Man NWH got me super hyped for Spider-Man and associated characters last year I've been reading a ton of comic stuff. Currently reading the Cates Venom run, trying to find a good reading order for stuff that happens outside the TPBs
Thanks for another great video, good sir! Venom and the black suit have always been favorites of mine. I have a venom corner of my MOC collection with the new retro series symbiote Spidey, MAFEX venom, Flash as Anti-Venom, and the new Marvel 375 venom. (Your video on those actually got me to start collecting them!)
I've also got 5 versions of black suit spidey (10" toybiz, 6" Marvel Legends, 5" super posable toybiz, 4" Marvel 375, 2" Jada toys) Such a simple, elegant, iconic design!
Glad to get you hooked on the 3.75 retros!!!
@@CarbonScoring How could you not? They look great MOC, or fit great in your pocket! ;)
Carbon Scoring is the best way to learn more about DC and Marvle
I try!
I didn't realize there were two pre-TAS Venom figures; you learn something new every day.
WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE THESE GREAT PIECES FROM OVER THE YEARS. FROM THE OG Secret Wars 5poa fig! such a huge line from my childhood. funny that even though Super Powers was a GREAT line, and i had the toys & was just in LOVE with them, i actually READ Marvel haha. the PLANET X TOYFARE FIG that i still have the little window box for! TO THE ‘ALONG CAME A SPIDER’ LINE (which i still have moc!) and all of the excellent Toy Biz & Hasbro figures since. reminded me to not stop looking for the pieces that i still need for that ravager Cosmic Venom BAF too! aaagh! haha. this was super entertaining! and i’m gonna go over an check out the history of Spidey in plastic form! STOKED! very very good stuff! btw, i only have the BAF Monster Venom. i never had a chance to pick up the proper Big Venom w/ the proper spider an all. so good. 👍🏼©.
Hey! Welcome to an old school fan! Glad you found us - let me know what you think of the Spidey series!
@@CarbonScoring This was a great vid! loved seeing all of the greats and currents. they look nice on television then i can look over at my favorites and get a dose of happiness!
I really appreciate you devotion, and the time you put into these videos. as a kid I would always scout out the toy section, or ask for my parent's phone to look online for venom figs. to see them here is just awesome
or will that not work ?
This was a really cool history lesson on venom action figures and a very entertaining one too, and I really enjoyed it and I hope to see more of these on the future. But I think the original monster venom build a figure was the Mack gargan venom because the designs have a lot of similarities, but I am not 100% sure.😁
I got a gmail about the give away… did I win?
Love how you are so passionate about trying to teach us about the history of marvel comics and action figures keep up the good work. venom is one of my favorite Spider-Man villains because of his history and its design. I recently Started collecting legends and this would help my collection so much. Thanks for this video
Thanks, Cullen - I appreciate you getting what I am trying to do!
Man getting a nice explanation on these different venoms and seeing how cool some of these are has me wanting to search for some to buy and I’ve loved these videos keep up the great work
Glad you enjoyed!
That Scorpion Venom is amazing! 😍
Dude, it is a truly great figure!!!
@@CarbonScoring it is! The detail on it is insane. They really captured the look of Mac Venom 😁
This was a joy, and super nostalgic to see 90's cartoon Venom again
I like to think I knew a lot about the Venom figures, but I have never seen that tri-figure. That was cool. Off to look at a pic of him with the tentacles. Thank you for this super informative video.
my pleasure!
Love the channel watching these videos every Saturday morning makes me feel like a kid waiting for my Saturday morning cartoons again
Now that makes me feel awesome!
I remember having most of these figures , getting the variant colors for em was always a blast
