    Here's how I made a real liquid Venom suit that automatically expands onto my body. It's made of a magnetic liquid called ferrofluid, combined with magnetic clothing that sucks up the fluid, defying gravity.

    That suit is insanely sick man, really great job! I remember being obsessed with ferrofluid as a kid, but it was so messy my parents wouldn’t let me buy it… of course I eventually found a workaround and got some anyway. SO worth it.

  • @JosephCornishV
    @JosephCornishV 2 роки тому +481

    That was epically cool, JLaser! In theory, you could have worn a skin tight latex suit underneath the magnets to not have the ferrofluids touch your skin. I understand your unwillingness to not attempt another build it this kind, but I think you should have gotten more pictures of different poses before removing the suit. Great job on figuring out the ball magnets and their ability to transition the ferrofluids evenly! I'm so stoked by this entire concept. 💯

    The best thing about this channel is that his inventions are actually really stylish and practical most of the time, an idea I have for an invention is essentially sub zero boots with liquid nitrogen, so like the fire shoes but they shoot both cold water and liquid nitrogen so there’s instant ice, idk if that would work but some type of shooter that actually creates solid ice would be cool

    The carrier fluid is oil, so you could remove ferro fluid with another oil type solvent (like dissolves like). Once you break it down, you just wash it off without the smell of bleach fumes. I think it's possible make up cleansing oils could have even worked. I haven't tested those before but, it's worth a try! I think my science class and I might experiment with making and breaking down ferro fluid in June, when we have more time for Science Friday stuff :)

    I like how at the beginning you thought about trees getting water tens of meters from the ground, then said pump (only grape and few other plant generate pressure with roots to pump water up) and then tried capillarity with paper towels (only flowers use capillarity as it is impossible to get water up to more than 30-40 cm with it), ignoring the fact trees use osmosis to get water to go up xD

    Great video! A suggestion: Veritassium applied a superhydrophobic aerosol paste to his body and jumped into a pool without wetting himself. Maybe you can use something like that, but with an oil repelling property since the ferrofluid is oil-based. If not on your body, you can at least cover ur table tops with it so that whenever the ferrofluid spills over, it can be easily collected without wetting the surface.
