    A note on boss targeting: each boss fixates the player closest to them about midway through their landing animation - the player in question will hear a distinct 'ding' sound to signify they've been chosen, in addition to the colored target markers everyone can see. The bosses don't deal a large amount of damage with their autoattacks at least from what I've seen, so anyone confident can take them during the first cycle without too much issue as long as the healers aren't afk. For the second cycle, however, you will ideally want to have ranged character take Green (always the further landing mark after the transition) so that they can still contribute damage while keeping the bots separated.

    re: the *Inside/Outside Arrows* mechanic, the alternating cycle is based on where you were on the first one that comes up.
    1st one offers both In or Out. The next one will be the opposite of which position you ended up being there.
    So if you were In the next one will be Out.
    We found it easiest for everyone to try to be In, so that from then out we'd be synced up.
    - (we have someone who is colorblind and play on coms, so callouts help them out a lot).
    - (it also helps any of our guildies that decide to show up that day and have never done it before).

      Also you are immune to this mechanic during the multiple bots phases if and only if you have fixate to anything not red.

    Nice video like always !
    Just to add a little something : the "tether" to a player is a blue mechanic (happens only when blue is here). It is pretty simple : if you have a tether, you are likely to put a "red" expanding AoE, and this is why you must run to the edge of the arena. This is not a range thing but a duration thing, like chrono F4 : you are tethered with the spot for a certain amount of time, it doesn't matter the distance you are from the spot, and just before it tp you back, you leave the red AoE where you were.
    Also, the green guy sometimes target the furthest player and will attack with a projectile. Again, when it'll hit the player, this will leave a red expanding AoE.
    That's it ^^

    regarding the white arrow mechanic: depending on where you stand the first time (in or out) all future arrows will alternate based on your choice

    if you moved out, the next time will be in, then out, then in, etc

    One point to note is that if you go to speed you probably want to cc every time they spawn in, because if you CC they do get exposed after their AoE. Of course, everyone needs to be on the same page on CC or no CC in the group, so people don't position in the wrong area

    • @ArcaneWolf9
      @ArcaneWolf9 Рік тому

      Yes, had a group do exactly that and went perfectly smooth. Another didn't confirm and half the group gets obliterated because they aren't paying attention. That confirmation only takes a few seconds so it's worth it one way or the other.

    • @moujayay
      @moujayay Рік тому

      most times the CC is on those not attackable at that time so it won't help having the exposed or am I wrong and all 3 get them?
      Also I always do it with my guild that we go for CCs when it favors the position of the group. especially later when 1 is further away tanking another boss it is nice to CC for the area.

  • @jasqui1512
    @jasqui1512 Рік тому +1

    I find that this one is a nightmare to pug tbh. Some people ignore the white arrows thing, the green tether mechanic, the blue split and on top of that when they all 3 come together it becomes chaos because at that point you cant continue ignoring the mechanics

  • @LaHuguu

    Last night, for Daily Strike I had the courage to pug it (and said I wasn't very familiar with the mechanics). The comm, which was an extremly nice guy asked for 1) tank the green and 2) bait the boomerang. Still with its explanaitions I had no idea what it means, I tried my best the first time with what I understood and we wiped, but the second time after seeing the strat had not yet been clicking in, another player kindly asks that he can fill this role (bless him). But I'm now not sure what I shaould have done better on theses phases.

    My group found it much easier to always CC red and blue from 40% - 0%. This gives you much more play space when you get push/pull mechanic overlapping with the room wide AoE, and doesn't require voice chat to last minute coordinate a CC.

    If you perma-stealth the fixated player, the matching Knight will do absolutely NOTHING. It will not move, it will not do mechanics. It will just stand there. Easiest way to get Aether Aversion achievement. Will probably be patched OR will be the key way of clearing the CM once it comes out.

    Muk, I think you're missing the point in this GTTP...
    We should CC most of the time, as it gives Exposed (If they have shield, they will have Exposed when they come back for thier phase)
    The Exception here is Red, as CC on him is usually placing team in bad place (which is counter intuitive since it makes dead zone smaller)
    So it should be - CC every bar unless it will make your team at risk.

    • @MuklukYoutube
      @MuklukYoutube  Рік тому +1

      There is no enrage timer on this fight that is cause for stress about time so utilizing exposed is optional (its already been soloed, which takes a very long time). If it works for your group by all means go ahead.

    I don't understand how ANet can release a boss fight in which one of the mechanics encourages TO NOT break the defiance barr when is active. I mean, most of the players in the game don't even known what the blue bar is for nor equip or use any cc in their builds, when is one of the milestones of the gameplay design in a lot of encounters, and now, after all of those years moaning about players not running instanced content, they release a fight in which for most of the encounter you SHOULD avoid to break the defiance bar... No wonder open world PvE is what most the players do.

    Few notes:
    The red in-out mechanic should not be client specific, it is always both -> in -> out -> in -> out rotating between in and out forever.
    You can actually designate tanks since the landing position is fixed and they always fixate nearest player.

    • @BrienGerber
      @BrienGerber Рік тому +1

      This is not true. It's based upon which you choose first. So something like this:

    So, let me be sure I've got this right ...
    ... ever since the EoD final group event fiasco of umpteen groups failing because the non-tryhards didn't know about break bars, streamers like Teapot, Potato and others have been bemoaning the lack of skill of many players and endlessly going on about how those players have no idea what a 'break bar' is and how to deal with it (so they never do) .. and NOW Anet release content that if players DO break the bar because Teapot et. al. have hammered into them that's what they're supposed to do those players will get berated for doing that which they've been endlessly told the should do unless it's the 'right' bar on the 'right' mob at the 'right' time.
    Remind me, why should players learn mechanics like this if they're simply going to get slammed when they don't know 'right' from 'wrong'?
    GG Anet, wonderful fight design and motivation for players to 'git gud'.
    /sigh

    • @MuklukYoutube
      @MuklukYoutube  Рік тому +1

      To be clear, there was already some situations in the game where you didn't want to interrupt a break bar. Or you needed to wait until a certain time.
      This is simply the newest of those.
