hi guys! if you’re a beginner and this gives you trouble, hit the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the video and you can change the playback speed so that it goes slower :) thanks for the tutorial! i’m making a hat for my dog
Thank you so much. I can always count on you to explain and show the work nicely.
This is amazing! You explained it very nicely and your accent is so soothing so along with being able to make a pretty decent circle (LOL!) I also got to relax listening to your voice. THANK YOU!
Thank you.Your channel is always the first one I come to whenever I want to crochet anything. You are quite patient.
I followed her grammy square video and I have made so much blankets for Xmas. Love this one. Thanks
Wonderful!🩷
Best tutorials on the net for crochet newbies like me. Thank you. My circles DID curl and i ended up with tiny hats!
This is finally the video that got me to understand crocheting in the round after a year of crocheting
I know it's a few years now, but once i found this post, I've been making circles like theres no tomorrow... found it great...❤
Glad it helped! That’s wonderful to hear 🌸
This is just what I was looking for! I want to make a pond for my ducks to sit on. Needs to be flat but was beginning to look like a soup bowl😂
New sub👍
I love how you are doing it. Now I can crochet a bag👏👏👍🏾😘👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I am very much a beginner at crochet and this was very helpful and easy to follow compared to many other videos I've watched. Great tutorial!
LOVE your instructions, as always!
Thank you, you made it very easy to understand 😊
Glad it was helpful! Thank you ☺️
Thank you! This was so helpful for me to make round wash scrubbies. Looking forward to more videos. 💖
i started crocheting about three days ago. this really helped me!
I love the crocheting
same got a simple set from Michael’s an now I’m hooked (lol) my index finger needs to get stronger though ow
Thank you so much! I have been looking and attempting to make a flat circle for over a week. Everything clicked as soon as I went through your tutorial! Thank you for your detailed instructions.👍👍
this is the best tutorial! im working on a mask for a cosplay and i needed a circle as the base
Thanks so much for the help!! Normally I don't have any luck with tutorials but this was awesome!!❤️
thank you very much... i was able to make a bunch of these coasters. Love em!
Great to hear! 🥰🌸
Thank you so much this was very helpful!😊
super helpful. getting back into crochet and basic stitch with increase based on the row. Thank You
Ty snout so so much! This is the only tutorial I could actually understand, and I’m extremely happy with the results :)
This was a great video thank you! Of course you need to know the stitches before you try it. It is a project for beginners because it’s the same stitch over and over but obviously you need to know the stitches first.
This is Episode 14 in the Absolute Beginner Series, so I’m hoping that people will be confident with the basic stitches by the time they get to this episode 😊 I’m glad you like the video! 🌸
Thank you so much. My circles always looked "sloppy" where I started the next row because I was chaining 3 as my first double crochet. I now chain 2. What a difference! Thank you
Right :) 3 chain= Triple 2 chain= Double. Be Watchful/Listen just as in this video; For over-sea's/U.K. they call their "Double" a "Treble". Which can easily be mistaken for a Triple in U.S. terms.
Thank you for the help!! I knit but I've never crocheted before, and this taught me to crochet :) (a circle at least LOL)
Fab tutorial as always 💖🤗💖
Ive tried several patterns of this circle and find yours is the only one that makes sense to me, being a beginner, thank you so much
Excellent tutorial , many thanks.
thank you fo r teaching us how to crochet a flat circle it’s very clear and , God bless
Thank you for all the beautiful instructions on easy crochet and knitted projects. To me, a gift from above. Rose Tracy. Homebound.
When you slip stitch to close the round, do you go under both loops of the V or only the back loop ?
I asked a question on another video about why you chain 2 or chain 3 at different times, but found the answer here, thanks!
Idk why everyone said you should go slower, you explained it great, i hate when in other videos they explain things suuuper slow and takes them years to get to the damn point. I’ve never done such a flat circle like the one i did with this video :) i definitely subscribed
Alejandra I agree
Yay! I love your tutorials! You make following along so easy. Sending you lots of love and healing energies. 🙏🏼💜😘
Great video now I know how to make a circle
I was able to do it👏👏👏 thank you
thank you for this video, i have been searching n searching for a video just like this. i have been crocheting for a few months now and the circles were always coming out after the 4 round as being curly, watching your video helped fixed that problem
I really like the chain 2 Rebekah! I don’t think I’ve ever seen it done before. I believe I’ve always seen the chain 3. Your way makes the join so less visible! Great video!
When you target it for beginners, PLEASE GO SLOW!
Watch at 0.5x,,its better
@@kajalbains2437 She probably has no idea what you're talking about.
Andrea; On your PC, click on the settings icon lower right corner. By Default the Video speed is Normal. Now click on and slow the video down to next speed 0.50, 0.75 and so on.
Or you can pause the video, I do that with every crochet video I’m following along with, doesn’t matter how experienced you are.
Or if your on phone go to the 3 dots and go speed
I am an absolute beginner
Your video provided great help. Thanks
Thank you SJ, perfect timing, I wanted to learn to make this as a base for string bags. 🌺
Hi Michelle, I hope it’s useful for you! Can I just ask, what does ‘SJ’ mean? 😊
I am a beginner in doing crochet circles, great totorial thank you
Omg I surprised myself, lol. I feel like a little kid I was so happy . You are excellent and I'm from N.Y.C. originally. I understood you very well. Thank you for your patience .
Thank you so much. Really helpful.
Hello I just found your channel when I searched how to crochet a flat circle. Thanks so much for this video
Thank you so much for sharing hugs Shelley 💜
💖Sheer genius! SJ, you make crochet a joy! Thank you for your brilliant tutorials, idiot proof as always 😉👍xxx💖
I’m glad you like it! Can I just ask, what does ‘SJ’ mean?
oh dear, sorry Rebekah. I thought I was talking to Sarah Jane xxx
Thank you very much. Especially for using the UK terms. I get a bit confused when I watch US channels with their terms. I've almost forgotten the UK terms, which is important to remember if I'm going to follow a pattern designed in this country. I'm not a beginner but this helped remind me of the basics, which one tends to forget when following other people's patterns. Stella
Glad to help, that's wonderful!
This makes great circles! I used a slightly thicker yarn and a different hook, and the only difference was my circle was a little thin.
Super 👌👌👌
Love this pattern so easy and great demo keep t up girl
Lovely tip: if it ends up curling just iron it flat 🤗
Great tutorial!!
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
If u find she goes to fast just pause the video watch her absolute beginner series to learn the absolute basics before u try this she is an amazing teacher I learned from her beginner series!
This tutorial was soo much easier to follow. Thank you
Great tutorial! Thank you
Fantastic tutorial!
I'm making this circle to use as an end table cover in our living room & I'd like to finish it with a bit of a border. Which border would you suggest I do for this? 🙂
This is a great tutorial. For all the comments saying it's too fast then maybe crochet isn't for you! Also you can slow the play back down in settings! 😍
Hi can you please make a tutorial on how to turn this into a square? There's not alot of 5 row circle crochet that turns into a square. This is for a baby shower that's happening on the 9th of September. I would really like my blanket done by then.
I am using a 4.0 mm hook size and normal 4 ply wool. Just wanted to know why the outermost line is raised inwards. It does not lie flat as is shown in the video.
I like the chain two after the first round. Really makes a difference. Thank you!
Super Duper, for me 'a beginner ' , I was well able to follow and complete to the same standard as you, so have I gone up the chain of hierarchy 🤔😄 thank you for sharing!
I made my circle but it was not flat like it should be. Is it because I made it too tight or at I doing something wrong?
Please can you do the video of the oval floor mate
I'm a beginner and this made perfect sense to me. What I can't seem to get right is when I tie off and weave the end in it always creates a bump or visible "finishing spot." Any ideas?
This has been very helpful as I always end up with a cone or a wavy edge. Thank you 💜🌸😊
I got it right away
Do you have a video where you go in to detail about how you’re doing the beginning parts?
I’m completely new to crocheting and don’t have a clue where to begin ha!
Try Happy Berry Crochet. She has videos to absolute beginners.
Thank you 😊
Hi! I have a complete series for absolute beginners which you can find here: ua-cam.com/play/PLqlBWJOmTEX2GbiDXweNHdhB-zTegpvcb.html
Thanks for this.
I am just learning to crochet. The video tells you to DS 11 stitches in the circle but, as you are stitching you count to 12 stitches. Not sure if I put 11 or 12 stitches in the first row
i love your video.will that work with a half treble crochet as well?please let me know.
Yes it does!
thank you so much.your video is awesome! you are an excellent teacher.
Too fast for me I'm afraid. I am a complete beginner though.
After you did round four would the fifth round be treble treble treble treble increase?
My circle comes out with spaces in between so it isn't as tightly packed like yours is. Granted I am not that experienced, so I expect some flaws, but can you suggest anything to help? Thanks
I would suggest using a slightly smaller hook and see if that makes any difference first of all ☺️🌸
Very helpful. Thank you.
Ummm, I thought this was supposed to be beginner friendly... 😅
It is
It isss
it is.
You lost me at round 3. I dont get double trouble one trouble thing
Agree 100% no matter how many time I rewind, the example is so fast I can't see or follow
Would this be what is used in the middle of a flower or a magic circle?
I would like to know this too!
Hello! I tried this just a moment ago and my circle's edges are slightly rolling up. I'm almost sure I didn't make any mistake (I tried to count), so could it be a tension issue? I tend to stitch very tightly and still learn how to loosen it up. Or tension is irrelevant and I surely made some mistake? I used acrylic DK (3) yarn and 4mm hook.
I am still a beginner and do have curling edges on a lot of my pieces, and I can honestly say it's most likely a tension issue. Sometimes it just isnt noticable that you made a switch. Practice is the best way to control it
Loved the video, was so easy to learn. Thanks
My circle still comes out wavy. Is it due to the type of yarn or perhaps I'm not making it tight enough? I'm trying to make a top hat.
Mine always start to fold into a ball
I had the same & experimented. After row 6, I didn't increase ie 2 double crotchet into 1 stitch, then 1 crotchet into next 2 stitches. I did one double crotchet into each stitch. It turned out flat & in shape. Hope it works for you 2!
How do you do this and keep it flat? I've followed this tutorial a few times and they keep crinkling and wrinkling up. Starting to get a little disheartened
Hey I was wondering if maybe you can make a video tutorial on how to make stretched lobs mittens
It is so good ang kind heard
Oops! I've been doing double crochet! I'm in USA by the way. Is there any chance you have a written version of your project? Please and thank you.
Which mm did u use
I remember by not counting first 2 circles, then counting row one = 1 sc, 1inc, row 2 = 2sc then an inc, row 3= 3 sc then an inc, etc helps me count easier, as I have dyscalculia , hope understand what I mean 🙈🤣
Why we going so FREAKING FASSST AGHHHH 😳😩😥
At the beginning, after you make the 11 treble crochets my hole in the middle is much larger than yours. Does it have something to do with the size of the needle or did I miss something
@@aylaiscool okay thank you!
Thank you so much!!!!! You saved me I can do sun blanket correct way :3 row 3 and 4 captions won’t translate for you can I know what you said so I can crochet along? I am Deaf
That would be great, would like to read along
Row 3 and up we start alternating between stitches that have 1 treble in them and an increase stitch (2 trebles in same stitch). Rnd 3 she starts with ch2, which is her 1st stitch, then does an increase in her next stitch ( 2 trebles in the same stitch), then 1 treble in the next stitch, increase in the next. Cont. all the way around this way. Your last stitch shld be an increase. Then slip stitch into the top of chain 2. Rnd 4 you will do exactly the same as Rnd 3 EXCEPT, you do 2 stitches with 1 treble in each, and then an increase, cont around. Rnd 5 same as above, but put 3 stitches with 1 treble crochets in each, before increase stitches. Rnd 6. put 4 stitches with 1 treble, before each increase stitch. Each rnd you add 1 more stitch with 1 treble before each increase stitch. For some projects you cld end up even doing 20 stitches with 1 treble in them, before your increase stitch.
Hope that helps.🙂 Happy Crocheting!
Please go slower. I could not follow the instructions very well, although they were informative.
If you're on a cell phone, you can adjust the speed of the video. In the upper right hand corner you'll see 3 dots, click on them and you'll see where it says speeds. Click on it and choose the speed for yourself.
what size hook and weight of yarn? mine seemed to come out bulky
i use size 4 medium yarn and a size 4 or 4.5mm hook! :)
How do I build up a circle after I get it done
My circle get curly and i endup making hats!
What should i do now?
Where is my mistake
What size crochet hook, please?
I'm having trouble finding where the 'center circle" is with each treble
I've been trying this for over an hour and I can't get it.. :(
What does increase mean?
hi:) its my first time trying crochet. i would like to purchase the crochet hooks and yarn. what size of crochet hooks should i purchase for very beginners like me?
I learned with a size 'K' and red heart super saver variegated yarn. The hooked help me leave tension and prevented me from crocheting too tight and the yarn helped me see the stitches.
J or k hook works well with a thick light colored yarn so u can see your stitches easily. Verigaded (or multiple colors on one yarn) may make it harder to see, depending on the eyes and the colors involved. Be patient with yourself, there is no shame in redoing as much as u need to. Have fun!
