That's the thing about Johnny. He's a cocky, showboaty, honestly kind of jerky person. But even with that, you'd be harder pressed to find someone as true of a friend in Marvel as Johnny is to those around him.

I always found it interesting - Reed could cure him in a heartbeat, but the real problem was making it so Ben could transform just like everyone else on the team. He LIKED his powers, he wanted what Johnny had, for example.

If you've never read that one, look it up. It's not exactly Thing-Centric, but it's one of the most impactful moments of his.

I always get hung up on the Fantastic Four. On the one hand they seem really wholesome and inspirational, and on the other they let their youngest child have play dates with the worst mass murderer in human history. That is severely messed up.
