What is being passingly refered to here is the deeper import of the recent Bangladesh crisis. As you may be aware the division of the Bengal province along communal lines was first engineered by the British in 1905. As its upshot the nationalist movement in Bengal became more active in reaction against the partition. Now again when India and Bangladesh were coming together an internal civil war situation has been engineered largely by the US dividing the country along communal lines. Its impact on West Bengal has begun arousing nationalist sentiments which will hopefully have a good effect upon West Bengal which was moving towards the Islamisation of politics.
Meeting of The Mother&Sri Aurobindo began new era but didn't it begin with Sri Ramakrishna&Sri Shardadevi?
Sri Ramakrishna's coming marked the ultimate highest point to which the old world and traditional Yoga could rise, - the synthesis of religions, the synthesis of all the different paths and spiritual experiences that humanity had so far.
Sri Aurobindo's coming marks going beyond this highest point thereby laying the foundation of the synthesis of Spirit and Matter, spiritual life and worldly life, the spiritual and the scientific, the east and west.
We can say that the confluence of Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Aurobindo in the period between 1850 and 1950 is the transition from the old world to the new world. But the doors of this new possibility opens with the coming of the Mother as Sri Aurobindo himself confirmed. It is after their meeting that the possibility of a new Supramental world began to take shape.

It indicates that love and even wisdom without force are incomplete. As long as India kept the balance of these three integral aspects of human nature, that is wisdom, love and strength, it was invincible. But when it discarded strength under Buddhist influence and then love under the influence of Shankara, it was left only with knowledge. But knowledge without love and strength is ineffective. We discarded Shakti and therefore the Shakti discarded us like the story of Bhringu Rishi. Islam has caught the force aspect, Christianity caught love. Both came to India to get what they lacked, - knowledge. India gave its gift of knowledge generously and freely but paid it with its own life because by then the spell of Mayavada had taken it over and both love and strength had diminished. Though the later bhakti movement revived love but mainly in a narrow movement of love towards God who was other than the world He made. Tantra revived the worship of Shakti but again ended up seeking personal Mukti. Had India followed the teachings of Sri Krishna it would have never been overpowered. But perhaps this too was God's Will to eventually help Islam and Christianity to discover a greater, deeper Truth that India guarded within its boundaries.
