I could not find my harness local anywhere for an 03 GMC Sierra non-amplified unit. I ended up using a second gen S10 and S10 Blazer harness and it worked perfect other than having to run the solid Orange to white striped Orange to get the buttons illuminated. I did not have to have the interface all I had to do is run a 12 volt positive and I found that in the heater control harness right underneath.
The interface is nice to retain door and warning chimes, also to retain accessory when the vehicle is shut off tell the door is opened
Hi there, did you figure out which wire lights the volume buttons etc? I put my orange to harness orange but did not do orange/white… and I have no button illumination. Thanks for the great vid, it helped me install!
Unfortunately you have to find it somewhere else in your dash, I still haven’t taken mine apart to hook it up.
@@tantintune hey thanks for the tip! Will keep looking, you don’t think it’s the white/orange wire on the lcgm24 harness? Was thinking about trying that to orange on radio
So I did orange/white and orange all to orange on radio and that worked. But I have to put the radio in night mode for them to illuminate.
I have the same truck and have 7” dual I’m about to install (it’s a work truck) doesn’t have Apple car play or Android I don’t think but is a touch screen Bluetooth am/fm. Besides the wiring harness what troubles could I run into ??? Still not sure if I need a Interface adapter or not?!? 03 LS 2500 (no steering wheel controls) … what do you think?!?
To retain door chimes and I think accessory you will need a interface, with some radios room in the dash can be a problem if it’s a long radio but it’s pretty straight forward for a radio install

hello! mine has no sound 😭 but everything else is working. the sound works when the old radio is plugged in but not this one.. do you know what the issue could be..? thanks!
If you have Bose sound your factory amplifier isn’t being turned on most likely that’s the only thought I have
