I have seen many luthier videos on UA-cam, but this is magnificent restoration with love, not simply a cosmetic revamp. If this had been 3 hours long, I would still have enjoyed every second just as much. Thank you for sharing your incredible work. 🧡
If a surgeon had to perform open-heart surgery on me, and it was you, with those hands and that patience, I would leave without thinking twice. Congratulations on such a delicate and exceptional job. You have really impressive techniques and surgeon's hands. Congratulations.
perfect balance between the restoration respecting the original instrument, a magnificent result while respecting the tradition of the great luthiers, respect!
Beautiful job, well worth the doing. We could not have done this in the UK as we are no longer allowed cotton buds. Even more impressive is that you can still get hairy string in Spain!
Thanks for sharing, there's a lot to learn from your documentation. I appreciate the obvious respect you pay to this instrument shining through each single process step.
That was a constant during the process. This kind of videos may work in UA-cam, but the payment is the lack of profound explanation of what the Casasnovas brothers acheived with their instruments, how well made they were. Yes, there is a profound respect indeed. Thanks for note it.
I am in the process of restoring 3 guitars from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. One a Brazilian Rosewood Washburn and one with a solid oak top , bottom and sides. I really appreciate your videos for ideas. Thanks
Wonderful - I've been waiting for this the whole time....Now 1:01:13 later, I would like to say thank you for the work and the documentation. It always makes me very happy when I see people doing something with care and passion. And the music is always worth it.
Great video, true craftsmanship! What are the rod clamps called and where do buy them from? The very thin glue (superglue) ? What’s it called Thank you regards Steve

Masterful work. The respect you showed this instrument is a beautiful thing. Question: Do you use hide glue for all of your work or on a case by case basis? Regardless, hide glue was absolutely the right choice for this instrument - it needed to be put back together the way the original builder intended. Thank you for taking the time to capture this process and share it with us!
Thanks for your kind words. Everything is hide glue, yes. Because everything was glued with hide glue in the fisrt place. When the accident happend there was only hide glue in the orginal parts, only the various fixes were made with other stuff, mainly white glue. The glue used is not the Titebond stuff, though, is mixed in placed, to get a better result.
Buenas Chimo.
If that is hide glue just cover the exact area with rolled up paper tissue.Tape it in place and then wet it .Cover with polythene for 4 hours. After that the glue will be soft .Remove with hot water and a brush and dry straight away .
@@AnjudaGuitars thanks for clearing that up. I like the idea of hide glue, especially on older instruments when that's what they used originally. I've seen videos of people fixing old guitars with title bond original, because it's easier to work with. My opinion if you're working on a quality or at least building a quality instrument. Every glued joint muted the wood to some degree, and hide glue isn't a adhesive like a wood glue, so there's a more like wood to wood contact. Again thanks for the information. I've been debating on setting myself up with hide glue melting pot etc. now I definitely will.
Buona domanda!

A tasteful balance between restoration, respect for the instrument, and respect for the maker. Kudos, she still sounds beautiful.
Thanks, that was kind of a mojo during the restoration.
You deserve the respect of all who cherish the value of the craftsman/artist.
And then some. This young lady and men are a miracle to stringed instruments ❤
You deserve the Nobel price for patience endurance and determination. Beautiful work. Very rewarding to see this beauty coming to life again!

BRAVO!!
What kind of glue did he use on these braces, I dont think he had the time to use hirse hide glue ehile working with the go to.
It is actually hide glue. If everything is prepared, there is no problem on using hide glue with the go to. There is plenty of time.

I don't get it. What was "epic"??
Better use tight bond to put it back together lol
