Absolutely incredible watching the process of this guitar build.. And the end result is a guitar that is second to none .... Well done and congratulations on a master built one of a kind instrument 🙏
These works of art of yours will live for 100+ years. Your legacy will outlive all of us and that's really all we can ask... contributing beyond our days.
Beautifully crafted instrument. I love how you walked into your shop with rough cut material and I watched you create this beautiful instrument. Thank you for sharing this experience.
You can always tell a exceptional guitar builder by how his/her workshop looks and how the homemade jigs make his/her work much more precise and easy. The most beautiful Fret work I have seen, Mad props,, your skill is extraordinary and I enjoyed watching you work. Keep slaying.
This is what I say about every craftsman, even the trim carpenters I work with. I can tell everything about your work immediately from the space you work in and your organization
I had some dark years during and following the lockdowns we experienced - and a lot of things fell by the wayside. Seeing this build has reignited something in me and I am now on the path to completing a couple of projects that have been gathering dust and weighing on my mind. I will be thinking of the Phoenix Rising as well as your journey as I begin to make sawdust again. Have a Merry and Safe Christmas - filled with joy and laughter, good food and better friends and family.
That entire series was incredible. I watched each and every episode. All the lengthy series of each build and this one the final conclusion. It was cool to watch since I could recall each episode and how it was in-tacked throughout the final piece. When I read your typed message at the end of this piece I was amazingly shocked. You are a man of ambition and superb work. I totally enjoyed this journey with you. I wish you all the best in what you do. From your works hope to your builds, you are superb. I too am going to become a lutherie. I will attend the school in Phoenix AZ called Roberto Venn. I live in AZ. Quite ironic I m in Phoenix and your build “The Rising”. Just a wonderful amount of work, dedication, and great therapy of working through everything. I wish you the best. I would love to somehow see more of your work, wood shop, ect someday.
Watching this, there were a couple of decisions you made where I thought, "really?". And then I kept watching and thought, "Yes, really!". Damn but that is simply stunning! The craftsmanship on that is incredible. It makes me want to play it, and I am desperate to know what all the electronics do. That is simply one of the most beautiful guitars I have seen. If I could actually make a guitar, I'd strive to make this. Brilliant.
What an incredible build from start to finish, a true master craftsman. Loved your workshop for the ingenuity of having everything available in a minimum of space yet fully functional at every level. The only thing I missed was hearing having that masterpiece played, but it has to sound as fantastic as it looks. Kudos to you for dealing with you personal issues and getting the help needed to persevere. To create something that beautiful from nothing but raw materials is a testament to your skill and artistry.
Awesome work. I love these orange parts on the fretboard. Wow. And oh... I heard that you are dutch before I took a closer look to your channel 😂 greetings from Duitsland
You finally got this done; I have been watching this build since the start. It is just drop dead gorgeous. Congratulations on this build and for you health and mental sanity recovery. I deal with the same issues every day.
I fell in love with the phönix gitarrenbau series, huge respect for this magnificent specimen. I also think it's great of you to share the story of the guitar, I also recently built a guitar that helped me not to lose heart during a very difficult time, but it was nowhere near as beautiful as this one.
I have been enjoying this build.and I must say this is my favorite out of all the different youtubers who build guitars I've ever seen. Your passion is the same as mine for the instrument .and the color is absolutely incredible.
Amazing work mate! I watched it as it is, without music. Perfection, artwork, skills, 100% accuracy and attention to detail. I'd love to hear how this beauty sounds :) Thanks for sharing!
You have some seriously mad skills my friend. Your work is amazing. Incredibly beautiful guitar. I completely understand your struggle with depression. I have hereditary depression from my dad’s side of the family. Had it as far back as I can remember. At the age of 49 it’s definitely been a lifelong battle. ✌️🖖🤘🙏
Amazing build. Love that you used cabinet scraper on that top. So much better results than sanding. Surprised to see you drilled post holes before gluing in neck. Assuming you at least had a reference mark in the pocket.
what a great build and it looks amazing and thank you for your kind words at the end i am fighting my own demons and loss of job due to illness i have taken up learning to play the guitar once again thank you and a safe and Merry Christmas
What a GREAT message at the end. My wife suffers from depression. It's a daily battle. But she is winning the battles. Beautiful guitar. Do you sell your builds? Keep up the great work brother. AWESOME guitar.
Stunning guitar. Your work is outstanding. Can I make a recommendation though? I used to paint with rattle cans too but found the cost horrendous, so I bought a small compressor and a cheap spray gun. It only took a few guitar builds for the investment to pay off because buying the lacquer in big cans is sooo much cheaper. The other advantage is that you get a much flatter finish which cuts down on sanding quite a bit and saves a lot of paint. The other thing I've learned from Alex at 8 Bomb customs is that it's much better to make grain filler with pumice powder mixed with Linseed oil and lacquer and sicative. when you do it that wayyou just rub off the exccess and there's no sanding - which is always a win. A few years ago I joined Alex's patreon group and its a really great space with a Telegram community of guitar builders worldwide. There's quaite a bit of chat about relicing because that's his thing, but also lots of chat about general guitar building. It's really interesting and encouraging to share , learn and get feedback. Just a thought.
Thank you. Also thank you for the recommendation. I am aware of the benefits of using a spray gun and compressor. By your recommendation I assume you haven’t seen any of the episodes from this series. The finish on this guitar was done in collaboration with Nitorlack to show what you can achieve with basic tools in a small shop as a hobby builder.
@@UnquendorGuitars Ah, I see. That makes sense. Nitorlack are great at getting their stuff out there. I have a cupboard full of it and rate it very highly. They just need to do better with getting their colours for spray guns into the UK, it's easy to get the various clears, but the colours are only rattle cans so no good to me. Congratulations again on the guitar, it's really beautiful.
Great guitar ! Really cool ! Now, Firebirds are 9-Ply neck-throught guitars for a reason (not set necks), and that's really a super cool architecture: extremely strong, stable, rigid, resonant.
Not a fan of 'non guitar' shaped models, but it is indeniable this is a true work of craftsmenship, and I would be immensly proud if I could produce anything like this. It would have been nice to have heard it played though!
Wow…that is absolutely STUNNING. Would love to have something along the phoenix line (or even Jazzcaster). But, with a P-90 in the neck. (Kind of like the ESP LTD Phoenix). This is beyond beautiful. I hope one day I can afford an instrument like this. And, that workshop is as beautiful as the guitar! Thank you for sharing! I hope you find peace, and happiness in 2025….we’re ALL due for it, after the last 4yrs.🙏🏻
Beautiful instrument, Daniel. I do want to say however, that in looking at that amazing bench you work on, it could perhaps benefit from being on a turnable locking swivel so you can position it in different directions. Is it?
Beautiful guitar man. Sorry to hear of your depression. Not too sure if you’re a man of faith or not, but Jesus promises eternal life to them that believe and put their faith in Him. He promises to take away all of our tears and grant us everlasting joy and eternal peace in His kingdom…
Absolutely incredible watching the process of this guitar build..

There is a ‘demo’ at the end of the “final assembly” video on my channel if you’re interested.
@@UnquendorGuitars Thank you
12:36 that's a really sharp looking fingerboard.
Would love to hear it!
The last video in the series “Final assembly and Demo” has a sound demo at the end.
scott holiday must see this !!!!!!!
Gorgeous guitar! I was wondering what kind of bridge that is? Looks fantastic.
It’s a Hipshot Baby Grand bridge
No demo?! I want to hear it!

when sanding frets, I use a caul with the radius of the board. Why use a flat item on a radius and create flat spots?
Rolls Royce guitar building !!!

I have been thinking to put the bench onna swivel, but decided not to due to the added play that would add.
That’s what I want 👍that guitar shape like fire bird but it’s not it’s a phoenix 🐦🔥 yeah 👍
Beautiful guitar man. Sorry to hear of your depression. Not too sure if you’re a man of faith or not, but Jesus promises eternal life to them that believe and put their faith in Him. He promises to take away all of our tears and grant us everlasting joy and eternal peace in His kingdom…
nice!
Do you have any problems with adhesion on stained veneers, are you using pva for them?
I used regular PVA/Tidebond and had no problems with adhesion
@@UnquendorGuitars thanks
Show us a fret template You are using. Three are difrerent templates for Fender, Gibson style Guitars? And for basses?
I used a 25,5” scale on this one.
If you’re interested in more details may I suggest checking out the full episode in which I cut the fret slots.
Tkank You!
