@@segahatty If it was looking to hold to 60FPS, then a hypothetical PSP Sonic Rush _would_ look blocky, tho. The PSP only got away with "PS2 level graphics" by having really low framerates in the games that did it, and more performant games were way blockier. What _does_ look off from a "PSP" look here, instead, is the low-res textures and the simplistic lighting. The PSP could do better.
Never thought this project was going to get an update but here it is. I think the project is too ambitious for itself though and won't be finished. If it does finish it'll probably take 4 more years.
UPDATE: I checked the Twitter page of this game and turns out this stage only took 4 days to make? This is great news. Maybe it'll be finished in 2 years IF the team is willing to grind but I have high hopes for this one now!
reminds me a lot of shadow gens tbh, with the type of camera work and the super wide terrain. but the trick system really makes it feel even more fluid
This is super specific but when playing the game I have the muscle memory of keeping the boost on while having the awkward slight period of air time before getting on the ground and getting to business again. For you to capture those genuine pauses in the midst the conversion is incredible and reminds me of my childhood in the best ways of clearing these for the first time.

I was about to type "looks rough, nice try".... Then they started adding mrow stuff, dynsmic camera views, interesting game design, and then it didnt stop getting better. Nice job.
Simplesmente PERFEITO!
Love the video, love the original game, hate how it started the "boost to win" era of Sonic. My main note, tone down how much Sonic's voice lines play when doing tricks. We don't need another "the more the merrier" scenario. Side note: Fan-games like this are the main reason that Sega's old rival is kind of inferior these days. Sega lets these live and thrive and even goes one step further now and then. *coughsonicmaniacough*
What a treat, this is a fantastic take of Sonic Rush's first zone! For a demo, it has a decent amount of polish in places (love the animations at the beginning and middle of the level), and the level design ain't half bad - very reminiscent of older Sonic games and makes those checkpoints actually matter. It's a little linear in places, but that's just a part of the Boost formula anyway, so I can't scrutinize it hard. Gotta say though, I'm a little iffy on some of the graphics; the clean, modernized HUD with the low-res/-poly look kinda clashes (especially when it's still using pixelated text and Rush assets), and I think the Boost gauge is too big on a display. The camera's also too close to Sonic in most boost stretches, but that being said, I do like the dynamic angles during loops. This is a promising fangame though, might have to find the game myself to follow the devs' progress. I'm curious to see how Blaze's gameplay would work in this style, and to see the bosses as well, since they were 2.5D originally.
Sonic Rush if it was on the PSP instead of the DS
Too blocky.

HOLY SHIT THEY UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT
They made the answer sheet question itself.
Damn right they did guys!
Can’t wait to see how these guys will handle the Super Sonic and Burning Blaze final boss fight at the end when this fangame eventually finishes
Well, one thing at a time. We haven’t even seen _any_ boss fights yet, let alone that one lol
They’re most likely gonna do stages first, then bosses, then the last story
Yeah most of the rush bosses are sorta built around 2d with rhe foregroubd and background so i do wonder
"When it eventually finishes" ahahahaha you must be new here

Oh, this looks really solid in level design, tho I still fear what stages like Altitude Limit will look like in 3d...

the camera work is insane
Honestly, looks like the best 3D game with the boost formula since like, Unleashed daytime or modern Generations stages.
_Right there..._

Thus is what a 3d boost game should be
Unleashed and Generations is what boost should be.

glow up of the fucking CENTURY
This is way better than the prior previews, which were just Unleashed stages on the DS model.
Some of the SFX feels bit off with the unleashed SFXs it still looks good though

It feels like sonic rush needs a remake on PS5 and for the songs to be remixed instead of it looking all ds.
long ass stage wtf bruh
Is this what the Saturn should be like?
It's so buggy, feels like it's going to fall apart in your hands

It's as if Sonic Rush was remade for Dreamcast,
and has 'Generations' physics added to the mix.
