- Welcome back to the Sonic Amateur Games Expo! This year we've got a slew of NEW SONIC THE HEDGEHOG FAN GAMES incluuuuuding, SONIC RUSH 3D! A game we haven't seen since SAGE 2021 when they released the Water Palace Demo. This time around, we have the LEAF STORM DEMO to play with, and the game is EVEN BETTER THAN IT USED TO BE! Dare I say, this may in fact be my favorite control scheme Sonic the Hedgehog has EVER HAD IN 3D!

this fan game is unironically everything I’ve ever wanted as a lifelong rush fan
This fangame has THE most dynamic camera movement I've ever seen in one of these. It's up there with the actual official games in terms of the cinematic flair. Very impressive from a fan dev!
Sonic modders/game developers never cease to amaze me. Seeing this game feels like a dream. Makes me more excited to see this full game as well as see Blaze playable. Now some real black magic is this game on Nintendo DS/3DS
I'm playing this game on Steam Deck, and it runs quite well via Proton Experimental. Feels a lot like Generations, but with the artstyle of Rush. While I never played Rush or Rush Adventure, I did play Colors DS. I love this project.
i love how this game looks, especially the waterfalls. turning sprites into 3d models always looks so cool imo
I miss the old water level, I would have been cool to run around it with the new unleashed inspired controls.
They changed the physics a lot in this version, so water palace would be completely broken and practically impossible to beat with the current controls. Trust me, it's for the best. They're probably gonna remake WP altogether at some point.

Sonic and Blaze together have been the best thing for Sonic franchise and I wish Sega would finally see that. Sonic rush is an amazing game wish there was an 3rd installment or best Sonic Adventure 3 starring Blaze the Cat in her dimension, She needs to be back in the focus. 💙💜✨✨✨

Imo Rush is the goat when it comes to modern sonic in 2D.
I wasn't super interested when I saw thumbnails showing off this game in my recommendations, but after hearing you say the controls feel like Generations but better I HAVE to at least try it!
Seeing on of my first sonic games come to 3d is an amazing sight, I will sell my soul to get a full version of this game
Whoever made this deserves all the money and support possible. SEGA needs to hire the team responsible immediately.

Thank you for showing this fangame, Dylan! It looks amazing, and the gameplay gives me Sonic Adventure 2 vibes, with the smoothness, and possibly the retro-y jungle.
I’ve recently been playing through Sonic Rush and I can definitely say this looks great.
Plus, I’m a sucker for the Sonic Rush model

I love Rush 3d since us Rush fans don't get too much in terms of fan service! My only real complaint with the game is Sonic no longer does his signature breakdance(s) at the end of the stage. I do miss beating the stage and watching him absolutely get down to the funky music.
Almost feels like half way between Adventure and Generations.

You know I would’ve played Sonic Rush if it weren’t for the fact that I can’t find it anywhere for a price that is not a sharp stick in the foot.
the camera work is amazing . most fan games ignore adding a functional camera N opt out for a free cam which is not terrible but way worse for games like sonic that are super fast paced

The only thing I would change is keep the original UI, but make it HD. That's just my opinion tho.

My only problem with this game is that a lot of it is way too spicy as there's just very big giant blocks for long Open Spaces that could have been easily flattened.

1:51 I don't find that hard to believe at all. Generations' control is slippery, and slow when you want it to be fast. The most annoying part is that most of those things are fixable with the upgrades, but for some odd reason you have to interchange them with one another and can't have all the ones you want at the same time, even as Super Sonic. "Want to play as Super Sonic? Or want a magnetic shield? Go ahead, if you can put up with Sonic taking a while to get up or not being able to stop on a dime." That's why I much prefer Sonic Unleashed and Secret Rings. The upgrades stay in Unleashed, in SatSR you can accumulate xp to be able to have more and more upgrades active, and the platforming in Unleashed is very good. I have an easier time landing and stopping on the platform I want than in Generations. I seriously hope all this is fixed in Sonic X Shadow Generations.

i did find an absolutely infuriating glitch where i would just lose a bunch of my boost guage and this weird sound effect would play. does anyone know how i can avoid triggering this glitch

As the boost button and I can't change it for some reason and the I can't change the up trick so every time I do a trick I do a stomp
I dunno, theres way too much of that modern Sonic hallway level design and automated set pieces for me to call this good. The boost formula is so boring
Blame the level design, not the formula.
