There is one HUD I’ve been using for quite a while and it quite often gets overlooked. That HUD is MUI. As a person who never understood why should you have loads of information lighting up your screen like a Christmas tree, I loved it. While other HUD mods tend to give you as much information as possible, MUI does the opposite. It is focused on giving the player the maximum amount of workspace. Even the heist tab shows very little information about the contract. However, this HUD still holds to the original Payday 2’s look and features the most important info that you always use during a heist I moved to Holo UI, because I really wanted to experiment with the color scheme of the interface (and I have to admit, painting all of the UI elements in different shades of blue actually looks really cool), but MUI will always be at the top of my list when it comes to choosing a new HUD for Payday 2
Came to the comments just to look for this. Hell, it's the reason I clicked this video. I have fond memories of starting to use MUI when Hoxton Revenge released. It's the only HUD I've used ever since. So much of the information in other HUDS isn't needed, it's just an eyesore and a total clutter. I don't need to know the exact damage I do, the timing on my Armorer invincibility, my numerical HP, an image of the weapon currently in my hand, the SSN of every cop on the map, etc. MUI gives me what I need to know and doesn't waste space on things like telling me there's an assault going right now. Like, wow, I never would have guessed. Why waste time use lot HUD when few HUD do trick?
For years I've been using a combination of MUI, Crosshair/Hitmarkers and the PocoHUD Floating Healthbar standalone myself. I also love how the MUI healthbar is separated in a way that's easy to tell how much %HP you have too. The only thing about MUI that I dislike is how there's no option to force show the timer during the "Point of no Return phases", other than that, I really like it.
My setup works with visual cues, I have pocohud and vanillahud(cuz its better than wolfhud, more stable and basically the same) everything pretty low opacity, only if i look on stuff it gets information like health circle and also my damage numbers get shown. all nameplates disabled except if i hover over my jokers to look at hp. I like info, but i want it to be accessible if i want to not all the time. i wish there where more dynamic huds, that show stuff like obtainable loot or cops on the map with tab.
there are a ton of great mods out there, but goddamn it, i'm still in love with VoidUI years later. Just those rectangles, the blend between PD:TH's style and PD2's...
As someone who likes the base game feel I absolutely adore Hophud. Feels like the original hud but the damage numbers and the lite invincibility display is the perfect amount of bonus info for me to fully enjoy what's already great.
