    Thanks for sharing your knowledge Matt, it takes time to prep a vid and talk us through all that's going on, appreciate your efforts.

    I've been hanging out for the next vid and you didn't disappoint. Great video! Bump steer is the biggest issue in my cruiser and now I know what I'm looking for in the geometry.

      Awesome man! Been sitting on it for a few weeks. Wasn’t sure how to tie it all together, but got there in the end!

    Great videos mat very detailed, awesome build very keen.
    My question is how do you get something like this engineered? If I was to go coil conversion can I weld everything together myself in my shed and then get it checked over?

    • @mattkinsela
      @mattkinsela  10 днів тому

      Speak to an engineer before you start doing anything, go through it all with them so whatever you plan on doing they’re okay with, how they want it done etc. then it’ll be a lot easier at the end of the

    Always so many questions after one of your videos 😂
    Firstly, could you have lifted the diff end to raise your roll centre?
    Secondly, did you consider a triangulated 3 link to raise your roll centre and reduce flex steer?
    And now i cant remember my other 2 questions. Haha
    Anyway, loving the build. Cant wait to see more.

    • @mattkinsela
      @mattkinsela  24 дні тому +1

      I couldn’t raise the panhard mount on the diff, because already at full uptravel the panhard will potentially foul on the chassis when flexing. Although I would have liked to!
      For simplicity I didn’t want a 3 link in the front, with long flat radius arms at ride height there will be little to no wheelbase change through their full range, so should be fine there.

    I'm just here to say that right handed people don't know how hard it is for left handed people to write on a whiteboard without rubbing it out as you go lol

    • @mattkinsela
      @mattkinsela  22 дні тому

      Hahaha or smudging the paper when you write with a pen that leaves like a wet residue behind

    When people say the panhard should be set at half travel, is this more for a road car? Another great vid.

    • @mattkinsela
      @mattkinsela  22 дні тому +1

      I suppose being set level at half travel gives it the smallest side shift through its range, probably a good option for the rear

    How will this be engineered/ registered as a range rover with a body swap or land cruiser with a chassis swap?

    • @mattkinsela
      @mattkinsela  24 дні тому +2

      Range Rover with body swap, as it keeps the vin on the chassis

  • @Bigcountry_littlelegs

    Nice, did you think about going watts linkage?

    • @mungbean84
      @mungbean84 24 дні тому

      Fitting a watts link in the front would be a nightmare with all the extra things moving around. Would be especially difficult to minimise bump steer as it would move in a different line to the steering arm.

    • @mattkinsela
      @mattkinsela  24 дні тому

      mungbean84 is right, the watts link keeps the diff central through its travel, which isn’t what we want with the steering linkage working in an arc

    • @Bigcountry_littlelegs
      @Bigcountry_littlelegs 24 дні тому

      @mattkinsela ah yep cool was allways curious why they went pan hard rather then 3 link systems or watts link.
      So that also why j arms are used on leafs

    • @mattkinsela
      @mattkinsela  24 дні тому

      @@Bigcountry_littlelegs sure is and the torque rod is kinda like a tiny panhard, if you take it out and brake she steers off the road haha

    • @Bigcountry_littlelegs
      @Bigcountry_littlelegs 24 дні тому +1

      @mattkinsela yeah but that's how I get excitement in the city, what way will be go this time.
      The torque rod is needed due to the lux's having rear shackles which is why front shackles was a thing.
