Dude thank you so damn much. Because of you I ended up successfully wiring the backup camera. You made it simple and easy to understand great tutorial.
Great video. I watched probably a dozen videos on installing reverse cameras before installing one on my 2013 Wrangler JK and this was the most helpful. Thanks.
Thanks for this video! I have an automatic, and nowhere else (including/especially the "instructions" that came with my camera) described what to do with the short red leads that came off the yellow video cable on either end. Although I did run a longer wire and tap into the cigarette lighter to enable the backup camera even while not in reverse since the Pioneer 4400NEX has the ability to manually switch to camera view. Thanks again.
You need to attach to the little red wire that comes from the AV cable on the Camara side to the reverse light wire so that when you put the car in reverse power runs up that little red wire all the way to the head unit and connects the other end of the little white wire to the reverse trigger on the back of your radio
I have a alpine w650 stereo that already has a rear camera plug in the back. I followed all the instructions you had and I also have a automatic but when I put the Jeep in reverse the camera comes on but I have to tap the camera icon on the stero. That's the only time it works. I'm not too sure how it triggers the camera thru the stero without tapping the camera icon.
What happened to the install video for this stereo unit? I have this unit and camera too. I wanted to see the video again because I need to remove my unit safely. I have to do airbag recall and afraid the dealership will mess things up. Thanks.
Hi! I have a jeep Wrangler as well. I just want to make sure I am following this correctly. I have an automatic Jeep. For the connection behind the radio I plug the RCA connector in. do I need to do anything with that red wire or can I just tape it off?
I have an updated model from Eway backup camera. It’s a plug at the rear with the camera with only back and red wires attached to the plug. I am connected to the ground and reverse wires. But do not have any video on the screen
good and I followed the instructions according to the video and the camera does not work for me I do not see anything it seems that I need an obd2 programmer
Hey, great video. My Jeep Wrangler is manual transmission as well, quick question; when you plugged the video in RCA cable at your radio you connected the power red wire to the 2nd pin cable (orange) you said, is that orange cable named "Camera Power In" or something?
Hey, I’m trying to add my factory OEM camera to a switch but I’m not sure where to trigger the switch for reverse. My blind spot cams are triggered by the blinkers but I’m trying to add my factory reverse camera. The switch has 3 wires for trigger.
Hi, do you know how to hard reset a 2018 jeep wrangler jk radio the one with navigation, in order to flash it. I installed a back up camera, not OEM, and can not find how to make it work.
I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) that in order to get a review camera to work on the stock radio, you have to have the dealer flash your system with a special code, so that the radio will enable reverse mode on screen.
@@petervermilyea6490 I have the Superchips FlashCal and have updated some settings, but it doesn't look like this is one of them. Can you provide some details on what you did to enable the camera in reverse?
@@gmangsxr750 i used my VGate iCar OBD reader ($21.99 on amazon), plus the JScan app (apps.apple.com/us/app/obd-jscan/id1445903514) and then had to pay $15 or so to use the app with my car. The OBD has to be connected to your phone via WiFi as well. Once I got that done I just poked around all the settings and found one that was marked “ rear camera enabling. “ or something like that. Kinda hard to explain in writing- took me about an hour of fiddling around to figure it out.
So what do we do with the black and red wires in the front? I can see how they're connected in the back but not the front. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to connect them in the front. I have a pioneer mvh-1400nex and this is not helping me.
You will find the reverse wire at the rear taillight. It's the white bulb, find the 2 wires that go into it. One will be positive and the other negative.
@@Signatureofheaven it was my wiring that was wrong. I had it wired to the grey wire with the white stripe when it needed to be wired to the white wire with the grey stripe on my 2014 JKU.😑

The last part of the video which was the most important part to me wasn't clear at all in your part! Good video but the ending was just a disappointment....
This is one of the best, most thorough videos I have seen on UA-cam.

Just wired up my 2015 jeep wrangler. Thanks for the video.
What kind of radio is that

Does this kit work with the oem audio screen?
Great video thank you, I have a question, does the camera needs to have LED lights?

For this install I'm interested to try it but can I use a regular plug in screen since I'm not looking into changing my stock radio out?

It may say something like reverse camera or camera power in

So I can use any wire for manual set up?

I've heard if you have a bluetooth OBD reader (I got one on Amazon for like $25), you can do the flash yourself.
@@petervermilyea6490 you can, you also need an app like JSCAN
Yep- got the app and all set up without the dealer. :)

Why would automatic car not need the trigger wire as well ?
What brand of camera are you installing?
It is our own camera. Thank you.
Having a issue with my reverse camera. When I brake the camera cuts on. Even while driving.
Sounds you have wired the power to wrong connection. Instead of reverse bulb power, you wired it to your rear brake lights. Thank you.
So the orange wire is for the power?
Orange wire on that type of android radio should be the back up camera wire
How do I find my reverse wire on a 6speed I’m really struggling
You will find the reverse wire at the rear taillight. It's the white bulb, find the 2 wires that go into it. One will be positive and the other negative.

Do you sell a system that has Apple car play and a waterproof radio?
We do not carry any waterproof radios unfortunately. Thank you.
If you're still looking I believe Boss has one that has Apple Car Play and is waterproof. I haven't tried it, but the price isn't bad.
