I’m a 50+ yr old Jeep lover who also happens to be a woman. Bought my LED headlights as they were advertised as plug and play. Arrived needing extra wiring. I watched all kinds of videos and kept putting it off as none of them explained how to do it in a way I could understand (i.e. Wiring for Dummies). When I watched this video I knew I could do it! Thank you for great instructions and clear explanations. Best UA-cam video!
Everything she said is me. Except im a man and im 52 LOL
Great video. THANKS
There's always multiple ways to do things and this is by far the best I've seen. You're absolutely right, why run all that unnecessary wiring to the fuse box and use fuse taps when you have everything you need inches away on the turn signal. So clean and great detail explaining why and how you're doing it your way.
Will Matthews Thanks for checking out the Channel. Means a-lot to me that you enjoined the video and instructions. Good luck on your Jeep headlight project.
THANK YOU! No cutting is right. Fast and easy. Appreciate you listing out the tools and supplies needed to complete the upgrade.
I REALLY HOPE YOU GET TO READ MY COMMENT: and am a solo mom. I have worked in maintenance and tool and die making but I know nothing about cars. I bought a 2014 JKU with crap headlights. I wanted to put new ones in myself. I watched a dozen videos on how to do it. This is 100% the best video. Your sound is great. The details are perfect. Not skipping around. No unnecessary information. Absolutely the best how to video I have ever seen. Well done, Sir
Thank you glad I was able to help. 🙏
It’s been a year but I’ll give you a little secret for some encouragement: that’s how most guys fix cars too, it’s 100% okay to not know something. However people like you and I will survive because we understand the vast knowledge at our fingertips and the willingness to get our hands dirty! Love it
I just want to say THANKS!!! I have followed you instructions to the letter and to my amazing surprised, when I tested before closing up the grill, ALL was working perfectly the first time! I do not know who are the two that put thumbs down, there is no way that is deserved for someone that dumb down the installation for people like me. I was afraid of the job when watched other videos that were drilling into the fuse box and installing plugin connectors etc. Thanks again.
Over three years old and this video is still helping people. I got some Seward G5s with no instructions, but this worked perfectly. I think Seward may even be out of business now. One of the little parasite taps had a wonky connection and just wouldn't work until I replaced it. The passenger's side light wouldn't fit right, but your advice was spot on. My 2016 Wrangler is happy with the blinkers, DLRs, High and Low Beams---all working perfect.
Great video. Just purchased halo headlights and was completely lost on how to wire them. Your instructions were very clear and easy to understand. Thank you and keep up the good content!!
Excellent video man. It's so refreshing to see someone as OCD with wiring as I am. Spending the extra time is well worth the clean engine compartment. Great video!!!
Thank you For the great review. I hope your project turns out great.
I agree with ALL of these positive comments... You put together THE BEST video for this setup and I just wanted to say THANK YOU! The extra tips you gave are outstanding and the video may be long but worth watching every second
Gene Wallis Thank you so much. A lot of people see long videos and run. What people don’t under stand is I try not To leave anything out and explain everything step for step if time allows. Thanks again for the kind words and for checking out my channel. 👍👍👍
By far and away the easiest and cleanest video for non rgb halo light installation. Thanks a ton.
No rush, no shake video, clear instructions.Thank you for sharing,
Best compliment is - It worked the first time!, followed your guidance to a “T” / my 17 Year old daughter did one light while I did the other. Recommend this install video. Thanks!
Man I was planning to get some halos later on in the future and this video made so much sense in how to put them in compared to other ones. Also THANK YOU for saying about the hood, made my whole night.
By far the best video to connect these lights. You were detailed but precise. Thank you a million times!
Joel Espelosin much appreciated. Thanks for checking out my channel. Glad I was able to help.
This video is extremely helpful!! Each step is clearly directed and helped me make my vision a reality! Thank you!
Thank you so much for having the only decent install video on the entire internet.
Thanks for the awesome comment.... I’m glad you enjoyed my video. It sounds like your project is going to be a breeze now. If there is anything I can help you with let me know. I’m just a comment or email away. Thanks again.... ✌️✌️✌️✌️
Super detailed informative installation. Because of you I just purchased a set for me to install on my ‘14 JKU. Can’t wait for them to arrive to put them in!
Extreme Terrain’s instructions were outdated and almost none existent. You saved me. Thanks!
Excellent how to video! I watched it several times over the past weekend and then ordered the same lights from Amazon. The new lights were delivered this morning and I'm watching the video one last time before I head out to the garage for installation. If you were closer, I'd buy you a Yuengling! Thanks for the awesome vid!
Daniel Mack I love Yuengling !!!!!!!! Black & Tan....🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
LOL...me too!!! Unfortunately they don't sell it here in Illinois. I always grab a few cases in Florida on Summer vacation to bring home and they last me a few weeks. I saw the Yuengling six pack behind you while working on the lights and figured you were a fan. Thanks again!!!!
Thank you so much for this video, I was able to install my new headlights with very little issues (which were completely from me screwing something simple up), they work great, and it is all thanks to your video. Thanks again.
ConicalReason Thanks for checking out the channel. I’m glad I was able to help. 👍👍
great video, without your advice I never would have figured out the DRL and turn signals.
I know a bunch of people have already said it but this is the best video on these type of headlights I’ve seen on UA-cam. Appreciate you bro
Thanks for this video. It gave me the confidence to do my lights today. They turned out great!!
Unbelievable, I just finished the installation of the Headlights on my 2008 Jeep
Wrangler and they look GREAT. Your Video was unbelievably good, easy to follow instructions
and all your helpful hints with the Zip ties worked out perfectly. Thank you for all your help and
yes I did LIKE and I Did Subscribe to your page. Again thank you very much. Nel2410.
I viewed this video and several others before installing 7'' CREE LED Projector Headlights With Blue Halo For my 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK.... This by far is the simplest and cleanest install..... made helpful with the suggestions for the electrical parts he suggested. Thanks.
Awesome video! Best one I've seen! I was pretty annoyed when I opened up the box and discovered there was two random wires, but you made it look simple. Thanks!
Thanksgiving 2021 and this video made my life way easier. Easy to understand and works like a charm. Thanks!!!
Good video Buddy!! Thanks for taking your time and not skipping steps!! I like to watch install videos before I get my new project, makes it easier to know what I'm doing. Thanks again, and I'm a new subscriber, can't wait to see what you have already filmed. Thanks, Willy!!
Much appreciated. Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for subscribing. I have to say I’m not a professional, but I do try my best to make the best videos as possible. Thank you for seeing the value in my videos. It really is grueling and hard work to make videos worth a darn. It makes me happy to know my hard work may have helped someone out. Thank you for the great response and feed back. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Hopefully I helped make a difference in your next jeep project.
Thank you so much for this video. Your video is the ONLY one I've watched that goes into detail about the blinkers. 11:13
Thank you. This video helped me wire new lights on my Jeep and I had zero issues doing so since your explanation was so clear.
Wanted to thank you for a great install video. I won a pair of these from another company and installed them yesterday. The wire colors were different ( I had black and yellow wires coming off of the led's and they were pre-set with male ends that were covered ), but other than that everything worked exactly the same. I wired my following your instructions ( I had to guess which of the led wires was which- yellow turned out to be the amber lights ) and everything works great. I did run into the same problem that I see posted here: the halos only work if I have the "running lights" selected, which is a bummer, I always run my light on auto ( yes, I'm lazy like that ) and had hoped that the halos would turn on with the ignition. I also had no luck with the Walmart clips, tried several and it was a no-go. I went to my local auto parts store and picked up another brand and they connected the first time ( maybe user error, I've never had good luck with those things ! ).
Alan Stevens Im glad you were able to navigate through some of the hiccups other people have ran into. You are deff. Going to enjoy those lights over the factory ones. Thanks for the awesome comment and for checking out my channel.
Awesome, and informative! keeping bringing us videos
Loved this video really helped first one I saw that isn't crazy wiring!
Just want to say thank you for helping me do this on my own! Amazing video!
Thank you so much for this. I just installed mine thanks to you.
No problem glad I could be of some help.
Best video I have seen yet to wiring these up, you gave me the confidence to go ahead and try it myself on my Jeep.
I second this comment! great job on that video.
How are the headlights holding up after a year?
Joseph thanks for checking out the video. I no longer have this Jeep. They worked great the 6 months I had them. You can always buy a better headlight and wire it in the same way. Most headlights with 100 reviews or more are probably going to be fairly good. SUNPIE, AUXbeam, KC, HI-beam, and any other light brand will have the same wire combo. I hope this helps.
I have a very similar set of headlights, but mine don’t have the turn signal, just the DRL Halo. I can’t seem to get the halo to come on, I can only get it to blink. I’m not sure where I’m going wrong.
@@josephgasper2500 they are holding up great, had them in heavy rain, snow, mud and no issues so far.
Great video...it worked exactly as advertised. The only thing I didn't realize is that the DRL only comes on if you have your ACC turned on. Other than that..it was perfect!
The running have to be on.
Pard, you get a thumbs up just for your T shirt. Oh, and the video was pretty awesome, too. Nicely done and very helpful. Thank you!
Great video. Wiring is neat and tidy.
Many thanks for posting the how to video, it was very informative and helpful. 👍👍✌✌
Thank you, you were the first video to truly talk about how to install the DRL
Jeremy thank you for checking out the channel. I’m glad I was able to help.
@@Jeeptv do you have a video for the fog lights to w/halo
Jeremy Quattlebaum Unfortunately I do not. But what I can tell you is that several people have daisy chained the fog halo lights off of the head lights halos and everything worked just fine. They pull very minimal Amps and should be fine.
Great educational video! I followed your steps and it was a time and money saver for me.
Eugene Hudson Thanks for checking my channel. I’m glad I was able to help.
Wow!! You are the best making step by step educational video. Cheers for that!!
I try and make it as simple as possible. Glad
You enjoyed the video and are able to follow along.
Easy Peasy.. simple, working great. Thanks 👊
Really helpful thank you! I don’t have a jeep but I want to add these to a BMW 1600 in the near future and this really helped
great video ! very clean install looks great
I ordered these lights and I am confident I can get them in myself when they get here. Thank you!
No problem
Good Looks On the Info Homie! Fire tutorial!
Thanks glad I could be of some help.
Thanks for the video man, I was talking myself out of buying a set due to the splicing but I may end up going ahead with it.
Great video- I feel ready to do my own install now. Thanks!
Thanks. Means My video has served its purpose. I hope your project turns out great.
Great video you do a great job when explaining everything
Thank you.🙏 Much appreciated... Thanks for checking out the channel.
Great video Bret! Keep em coming brother
Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoy them.
Bret ur the man! Most thorough tutorial on here!
I used to have these lights but had to return after a week. There really is no issue with wiring everything up, my only complaint was the light output. I have tried and tried again to get these dialed in to where I want and while not blinding oncoming traffic, there was no other way. I’ve tried 3 different sets and the outcome was the same. I guess I have to stay stock for now until I can get the factory mopar led for a clean cut off. I am very picky when it come these things. Great job on the video though I’m sure others will benefit from it, thanks.
Much appreciated. Yeah I had people flash me every now and then. On my new Jeep I’m running new LED bulbs. You may wanna check out one of my latest videos.
this is BY FAR, the BEST explainer video I've watched on this topic. some guys gloss over the actual connections, you take the time to explain EVERYTHING. I skipped through a few parts, like how to use an in-line crimp because honestly, if you don't know how those work, you have no business doing any sort of wiring!!! LOL... anyway, this video should be tagged as the OFFICIAL video on how to install ANY halo / DRL LED for a Jeep JK. You could sell this to the light manufacturers and make some money! It's REALLY GOOD!!!!!
Wanted to say thank you bro this worked flawlessly
Wow nice vid help me more than any other one has for this swap
Man... this video is really helpful. Much appreciated dude.
Josh D Thanks. Thanks for checking out the channel. I’m glad I could be of some help. 👍👍
Im about to get LEDs for my JK, and this is the best video ive seen on wiring them in. Thanks !!!
POOT120mm Thank you. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great video! Wish me luck for tomorrow!!
Paddy Jordan-Higgins Good Luck 🍀👍.......
Thank you for explaining clearly.
Isaiah Cosme welcome
great job, looks great.
Best video on this installation
you are the best explaining bro. thanks
.
Much appreciated. Thank you for checking out the channel.
I'm glad you mentioned that the passenger side light doesn't fit properly, I thought I was going crazy but knew it had to just be what it was and the ring would hold it.
Cool, thank a bunch. Nice and clean, badass !!!
Very helpful video, thank you.
No problem thanks for checking out the channel
Yo this video was great! Worked on my 2000 wrangler TJ. Those connected clips were a godsend. Like you said no wires running all through the Jeep. Just clipped it into the existing blinker wires. Thanks man!
lifeisgoodenjoydaryd Thanks for checking out the channel. Glad I could be of some help.
Hey man, I'm about to put these on my TJ tomorrow. Before I take out the turn signal light, do you know if the wiring for that light is the same as this video? Thanks.
gnarle the turn signal light should have the same 3 wires. Just clip on the far side wire (opposite of the black wire) for your turn signal and then the middle wire for your halos (DLR) wire. Worked like a charm for me.
Danke für das Video und die Anleitung mit den Kabeln
It's better to test the LB and HB headlights are functional before wiring the DRL and TS. Some of these lights come with incorrectly wired pigtail connectors like mine did. Twice. Then you have to put everything back like it was and order a pair of KC Hilite pigtails which will fix your wiring issue. THEN do the hard wiring. Great video!
Great video man.
Great video. They are getting better each time. Love those lights very well instructed video on the install. I'd love to run those but in my experience with snow and ice and running my floods and fogs (amber xprites fogs and auxbeam floods) on my 34 mile commute home 30 minutes of it being Highway they get snow build up on the lens and significant decrease in light output. So I'm going to go a different route need heated lens so going to stay halogen h4 setup with KC housings probably. Don't want to spend 600 for Trucklite heated leds just yet until I hear long term reviews on then still working well at least over 5 yrs. Again great video. Glad I subscribed.
I have never thought about that. So if there is no heat to burn off or melt the ice I guess with the LED it just sticks and builds up until the lights are just crap. Thank goodness I don’t have to think about that and battle cold starts.
BTW one of my exprite fog lights are now brighter than the other. Not sure what its all about but my O.C.D may kick in and force me to try some new lights soon.
SPARE TIME VIDEOS haven't had that issue yet love the look of them and that noone around my area has them. Yeah no issues so far. Maybe one of the connection has loosened up . When I put mine on I zipp tied them and wrapped electrical tape around them. Maybe simple as one became a lil loose.
SPARE TIME VIDEOS unfortunately yeah that is the case I didn't realize myself until I drove home in a snow storm a few weeks ago. Some say they have no issues but those guys probably do not commute and drive on the highway in these conditions at least not very long. That's when I realized LEDs at least unheated would not be a good choice for me function and safety wise. God bless you and yours and have a Happy New Year.
Welll... time to start my new project .. definitely ordering these.. I hope I can do this 😫
You got this... If you get hung up or need to ask ?s. Just drop a comment. I’ll help out to the best of my abilities.
Best video ever! I just watched step by step and installed my halos and connected the wiring! One question did you connect the fog lights to the DRL wire as well?
Ressie Taylor Fog lights are just factory. If you have a set of Halo Fog lights I’m sure you can run them off of the blinker power as well.
Great video, the lights look great...
Eloy Ruperto Thank you. Much appreciated.
thanks - great video
Amazing great technique without cutting wires that was the only thing holding me back from trying now after seeing your video I’m gonna try
Great video. I ordered and pair of these for my 2018 JKU. They did not fit in stock housing so sent them back. After seeing your video realize I probably should have kept them. Again, they would not fit secure in stock bell housing. I am trying a different brand now to see if they will it.
Dude that was awesome...
Best video to install those
Thanks, your video helped me install my lights. Super simple and easy!
Thank you. I’m glad I was able to help. 👍
Ordered the same lights and installed them this afternoon. This video was a great primer, and so helpful. Bought all the connectors and the zip ties too. As a complement to these carefully represented instructions, I found that the latest product comes with the wires that you route to the turn signal for the halos. In fact they already had the female connectors and were pre-stripped. All you had to do was just slip off the already cut wire coating. Those light blue wire connectors were a little finicky though. Took a couple of tries to get the metal piece to cut through the rubber coating. Other things to note, my product also came with yellow and white wires. The white ones were the constant power for DRLs. So others may not need the extra wires or male and female connectors shown in this video. Lastly, the fixtures have tabs in the back to help align them when you do the final positioning. For mine, and I imagine for others, the tabs did not set in the factory notches. What I did to accomplish the proper setting was to cut out some of the plastic bracket and file down the opening and the fixtures positioned as I believe they were intended. As noted in the video the light output is excellent, and the halos just “seal the deal”.
I wish I would have gone in and read this before putting mine in last night! I for the life of me couldn't find anything online with the yellow and white wires. I finally just took a 50/50 shot thinking "yellow must be blinker" ha! Probably should have opened the box before running my wires and installing female connectors since they are already pre-wired with them now. I didn't have to do any cutting, but they are super tight. I'm waiting on my no cut crimp pieces to come in tonight so I can finish up. I'll get them aligned and if I have any issues I'll get that file going. Thanks Evan and Jeep-tv for the awesome video.
I have the exact same lights and i’m trying to install them, could you let me know what wire i would hook up the white wire to and what wire i would hook up the yellow one to ? plz help ! thank you
Thanks for the info about the White and Yellow wires....started to panic when I opened the box and saw them .
Nicholas jackson do you know which wire to hook up the yellow one to? and which one the white one hooks up to ? thanks
viewswithjason the yellow is for the turn signals.....white for power...
Great video!
Followed this with no issues with the exact same lights. 2 things seemed to change with the lights. The drl and turn signal wires changed colors and come with a female connector. Yellow is the turn signal and white is drl.
well done mate ,really safe lots of money. amazing
best vid i have seen good job.
Shawn Wilson much appreciated. Thanks for checking out the channel.
Beautiful
Great Video! I wish you would have showed us what you did with the canbus and extra wiring.
thats2odd I pushed it back behind the light into the fender and zip tied up most of what I could. Yeah that part probably got edited out.
Supper clean Work p
I just installed Halo headlights on my 2014 JKU; I was pleased to find this video as the procedure seemed very straightforward. The wiring on my were red/yellow, I tried red to blinker - no go. Rewired yellow to blinker - no go! What else would cause this to not work? The halo never illuminated and would not flash when the blinker was activated on either wiring configuration.
Looks good!!!!!!
Jonathan Kilgore THANKS BUDDY....
Easily the best headlight install video on youtube! Just got a 15' JK about three weeks ago and plan on getting these headlights but I have one question. I've read online that with the stock headlights DRL mode won't work unless you use one of those procal tuning devices to enable it. Did you have to do that with these headlights for the halos to stay on or does the way you wired it make it work like it's supposed to? Looking forward to upgrading to these headlights, but I'm hoping I don't have to spend another $150 to get a procal module. Thanks for the awesome video!
richard pena Thanks for checking out my channel. I did not have to us a super chip. On my wife or my Jeep. There has only been a few people on here that have had to. Most people have a Euro Jeep or from Canada and the computers need 🖥 to be flashed to re-set. If you place your key in the ignition and your head lights come on automatically you probably are going to need the chip. If not you should be ok. Good luck on your headlight project. Let me know if you need any help I try my best to walk you through.
Raaaar lol love that T-shirt!!
My boys picked it out for me....lol
Thank you for a great video! Do you have a link to the connectors? Specifically the 2 to 1 crimp for the DRL?
I have to echo the sentiments expressed by everyone else here. This is by far, the best, most comprehensive headlight install video/tutorial I've found. I installed my Axial LED Halos with Turn Signals a couple of days ago, and they look fantastic. The video took me through every step, and the zip tie logic helped me keep things tidy. I did have a problem that took me 2 days to figure out. I couldn't get the turn signals and DRLs to work without turning the headlights completely on.. The wiring was fine, but I did not attach the vampire connecters correctly. Once I replaced the vampire connectors and crimped the connection first and then snapped them shut every worked like a charm! Thank you for such a great video. Now I'm looking at replacement fog lights!
Dude! Great vid, my headlights are identical, but there is no pigtail on the harness to allow for me to run the DRL's and turn signal. But it comes with all the wiring to do what you are saying, so Idk if im suppose to tap into the harness? If you can advise that would be great.
There are several other people saying the same thing. I do Believe they still tapped into the harness. Read some of the other comments as to what they experienced. It is totally up to you. You can try tapping it first and always change it with no damage to the wires.
thank you very much for the great instructions.. how are they holding so far? I had a bad experience with some aftermarket lights in the past. looked great the beginning but 3 months later, they started to act up.. Thanks again.
First off thanks for the great feed back I’m glad you enjoyed my video. I had this Jeep for 5 months and the lights held up great no problems. I will be buying this brand again for my new Jeep SOUTHERN COMFORT.
OK so I ordered these based on your awesome installation tip, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, but I have one question how have the lights held up so far?? The Halo and Turn signal connection??
So far so good. No flickering or electrical problems out of the product. NO MOISTURE fogging up the lenses. All around great product. They are really bright. There is only a small difference between high/low beam. I get bright lighted every now and then. People thinking I have my high beams on.
@Jeep_tv I wired these up just as you showed. Thanks this worked out well but the DRL's are only DRL's if i have my lights set to the parking lights mode. How do I get them to work as DRL's and be on all the time? I have JSCAN and was wondering if maybe you knew how to do this?
Nice video body! Really helpful, thank you for sharing. I have a question about the DRLs circles, in your video your jeep is off (switch open only) when you show the DRLs working but are those on when your jeep is turned on too?
LosDelRanchoFilms You should be able to turn the parking lights on with out the Jeep running. For the blinkers to operate you have to have the key turned with the ignition on but not the engine running. I THINK 🤔 That’s right.
