I just found this song again a few days ago, after not hearing it for years, and I've watched the video a handful of times now! I simply can't get this song out of my head now, what a great song! This was my introduction to the band, Shooting Star, back in '85 or '86! As soon as I heard it, I bought the album. Such a great song, too bad they don't make music like this anymore. This band should have been bigger than they were, what a shame!
Gary West- great vocalist! I was fortunate to catch them live. Loved the pajamas! Still playing today but it will never be as good as this line-up. Thanks for the video!
This guy has a fantastic voice, the melody is great and the chord progression is amazing. This song is my favorite among all rock songs. AOR brings rock to a new level, less depressive, angry and annoying but more powerful and happy and "energizing".
Gary West was a huge part of this band. I know he is now in the Midwest running a radon testing company. I was lucky enough to see them in their prime. Gary would wear his pajamas and would play the kettle drums during "Last Chance". Glad I still have live tapes which need to be put on CD soon!
It still bothers me to this day. I have this album, Love Shooting Star, and until UA-cam, didnt even Know these videos existed. I Never once saw them on MTV. My musician friends and I seriously dug Last Chance as a hard-rocking progressive track, and we were hooked from there. Have their vinyl stuff as well as the "Best of" on CD. Just wanna know why I never saw these videos. Was my TV off that day?
My little public service for a band I've loved since they first came out: They've now got their own website - "shootingstarmaniacs(you figure out the rest of the url)" - at which you can buy their old and new albums on CD, a live DVD, and even t-shirts.
I agree with the "where are you Gary West call".....Shooting Star without GW is like the Beatles without Lennon and Mccartney. Come back for one last call Gary. Please. You are awsome. Shooting Star has been kind of a joke since you left.
