This is by far one of the best albums ever to come out. The first time I heard it in college I freaked out!!! I had to have everything that this band did from 1979 into present. I have the actual vinyls for them. I need to get cd's too but i've made those. great band and great post!
R.I.P. Van thank you for all the great music you and your band was a big part of my life and still is , I never had the pleasure to meet you but I did meet steve when he worked at world wide music in raytown, I had a very early poster and an 8 track of your first album I tried to give it to him but he told me to keep it and I still have it after 30 plus years !!
Don't like to compare, but every bit as good as Boston. They also out preform early Journey with Perry for acouple of solid records. They should have been HUGE. TALENT was not an issue.
In the nmsu concert, van stood on one riser at one end and charles on a riser at the other end and just dueled back and forth for 20 min....guitar vs violin...ah the early 80s at k'ville
I saw the Shooting Star "live" and another band at Smithville Lake in Smithville Mo that was sponsonsored by KY-102 sometime in '89 or the early '90's. Good concert!! Can someone help with the actual date. I can't remember when it was. Thanks!😁🤸🤸🤸
Van died from West Nile Virus this February. Bill Guffy also passed. He played on the first album and sported a Foghat 'stache. Gary West and Charles Waltz left the band. It is reforming.
Hey "hippiedave" remember KWK, KADI, KSLQ, and KXOK? I'm no longer in St. Louis and sometimes I really miss home. I'm here in memphis and it is not a rock and roll town. I have to correct you about 1 thing. WE grew up listening to some great music.

Singer is in Kansas now. great BAND! shooting star is LEGENDARY
Ronnie Platt didn't join Shooting Star until 2007. Van McClain (RIP) and Gary West sang this song. Gary retired in the 80's.
Quite possibly the finest rock-n-roll fight song ever created.
i forgot about this great band
Nothing will ever beat KY102.
OMG! What a blast from the past : ) I think I still have an old KY102 bumper sticker somewhere! Corporate rock sucks!
Who remembers the brunette that did the KY102 amazing mouth commercials?
Underrated...
