I have so much to say about this podcast LOL. Such a good ep! 1) Colleen, if you love scrambled eggs and pancakes, you love breakfast food - you just don't need food first thing in the morning. 2) I am forced to be a morning person - my daughter needs breakfast & meds by 6:30am EVERY day (for the rest of our lives kind of situation), so yep I get up at 5:30am so I don't rush around making my anxiety crazy. The drink of water, the slower morning, stretching in bed as soon as my alarm goes - it all works for me! I get more done before 9am than I do after 6pm LOL. 3) Also, you are not your anxiety - you FEEL it, but you're not anxiety itself. It's something that will pass eventually - so I tend to say 'oh i feel anxious today' rather than 'i'm anxious, i am stressed'. But that's just me, I felt so wired this morning but I feel better now xx
Im.diagnosed with anxiety and for me it's like the anxiety never ends. I would do anything to feel like u do. It's like anxiety is who I am most days. Also good mother for taking care of your child for maybe forever. Sounds normal but in reality there are so many supposed "moms" who wouldnt
@@cleosworld9096 big love to you Kelly xx it’s taken me over 20 years to get to this point - anxiety (for me) will always be a part of my life, it doesn’t end, I know it will visit me from time to time but I am now able to recognize when my anxiety is higher and show myself more kindness - I felt so wired this morning it was horrible - I still feel it in my body. I am diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorders.
I love love love the raw honesty on Relax. Erik openly talks about his fears and Colleen helps him sort thru them and vice versa. Can’t wait till the twins are here. It’s going to be a wild ride.!! The burner phone idea for 50 podcasts is an awesome idea. Love you guys love leisa Western Australia xxx
Thank you for the time stamp! I came here only after the next podcast where Colleen actually read the comments on his button 😂 only listened to it the first time and boy did I miss out.
Colleen being SO confused about sports and Erik getting frustrated trying to explain to her, is me and my husband😂💀 don’t worry Colleen, I’m with you girl 🤣😅
I was in marching band in hs, so I was literally at every football game. My husband played for his school, just ALL of the sports. We've been married almost 20 years and he still can not fathom how I can't explain how football "works." Then again I will never get how he can't just get through one novel.... I love love!
I never thought I was being watched but as a single mom of 4, not by choice, I acted like I was being watched during stressful times. Like if my kids were making me crazy and I started to turn into a screaming banshee, I always tried not do or say anything that would embarrass me if someone was watching. I hope that makes sense. it helped me to step back and evaluate my behavior. It helped me be a better mom and keep my cool during times the kids were out of control or I was having a bad day.
That’s a very great idea! I never thought of this. Sometimes it’s so easy to not lose your cool, then other times……. Not so much. Thank you for this idea!
I am a definite morning person! Like I absolutely cannot sleep past 8AM. But I totally understand people who can't do that, even if they adjust their schedule, because no matter how hard I try, I cannot stay up past midnight. It's just not how my body works. I think everyone should just do whatever works for them. Everyone's different.
colleen talking about waking up physically ill after any quantity of sleep and wanting to vomit after any breakfast is the most relatable thing ever! i always thought there was something wrong with me!
COLLEEN AS A CHILD I WAS LITERALLY SO CONVINCED THAT I WAS BEING WATCHED AT ALL TIMES I WAS LITERALLY ALWAYS PERFORMING EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE AND IVE NEVER SEEN THE TRUMAN SHOW
I love the vibes of this podcast how easy the conversation between you flows. How many topics are being brought up. How real and raw the points are and feeling the exact same way about situations. I wish I could have a conversation on one of your podcasts with you two!! I love you guys!
I was CONVINCED I was being filmed from like 4 years old to 13 years old, literally for no reason. It seemed like a really anxiety enducing, paranoid game in my head that I thought was a real film that crowds of people could watch live. Maybe it was my now diagnosed autism or adhd, maybe not, but I related so much when Colleen said that.
I think it's quite common in neurodivergent people to think stuff like that or thinking you or the people around you are aliens or other things like that. I think it's because we react slightly different than is expected so our brains try to make sense of why we don't seem like everyone else.
So i TOTALLY had the same thing as a child, where i thought and acted like someone was always filming me, like a reality show, and kind of used it- as a teen- to no do weird things 🤣🥰 so crazy to hear im not the only one! Also- the baseball breakdown was SO informative. Im a huge football fan but now i feel like i understand the baseball brackett as well!
The way Erik processes every day inconveniences through anxiety reminds me of myself so much! The squeaky cart is now part of you. You own this cart. You can't ever bring it back because you chose it. And in a way, it chose you. There's no turning back.
I am 100% a morning person. I thrive waking up with the sun. I have 3 kids. My husband is a lot like you two and it blows MY mind that such a creature exists.
Oh Eric, you have the most patience of anyone I've ever heard. The sports talk sounded like explaining astro physics to a toddler. Love you Colleen, not everyone loves sports.
PLEASE don’t change the theme song! I love it so much! It brings me comfort, relaxation, happiness.. It’s so catchy, I sing it all the time! It’s actually the reason why I started listening! I kept hearing the song at the end of your vlogs and just had to tune in 😊
As a huge sports fans, especially football, listening to Erik try to explain divisions and playoffs to Colleen was sooo funny. I can see how it can be confusing for someone who isn’t familiar with sports terms. I wish they would talk about sports more often
i absolutely love love love this podcast, honestly i have not missed a single episode. i have been here for all 40! this is the only podcast i am faithful to watching. thank you both for the endless entertainment and for all the baseball knowledge today, i learned a good bit too!
Colleen I think I felt the SAME way as you when described feeling like you were being in filmed-ish. Not in a paranoid way but in a way like we are performing? That's how it felt for me. I also grew up very religious and was taught that we are being observed by a higher power. So you are not alone in that and Im glad you shared because Ive never put words to that before or mentioned it to anyone.
I just started watching yall a few months ago. I just learned how you and Eric met. I was going thru old videos and Colleen you've changed so much but the one thing that has remained the same is you're so genuine, down to earth, and relatable. I'd love a video of yall's love story. Also, you're so beautiful. I too am getting older but dang you just keep looking better and better. Continued prayers for you and your family. Can't wait to see the twins 😍
I need to say Colleen you’re not alone about the feeling about being filmed. I’m 33 and growing up realty shows were just starting to become a thing when I was growing up. So I was constantly thinking my car had a hidden camera so I’d try extra hard to sing well. And making sure my bedroom was clean in case I was ever on those dating shows that the guys snooped in their rooms. And it wasn’t just me comparing to those shows, I always was just convinced I was so interesting that obviously a camera should be around filming.
I am, for sure, a morning person 😁 I go to bed "earlier" than is typical so that I get 8 hours sleep and can feel fresh at 8am 😊 I also find that if I eat late I cannot wake up so my tips for waking up easier is stretching, drinking plenty of water from as soon as you wake up and washing your face/skincare routine 💜 These things really helped me 😎😎😎
Erik! I recently started to not look at my phone for the first hour after I wake up. I read it somewhere online and I thought mhm that’s a cool concept, I’m going to try it! My morning mental stress was almost non existent after the first week of doing this. My head felt clearer in the mornings and I found myself to be way more productive. I highly recommend people trying this out!!
In Norway we have some butter that is dairy butter mixed with rapeseed oil. It spreads like a freaking Godgift! AND you can use it to cook AND bake!! I know, right? MINDBLOWN
The someone always watching thing as a kid..super relatable and has been in my thoughts lately. I definitely think it does stem from growing up being taught that God is always watching and knows all.
I don’t know. I still feel this way at 32. I was brought up religious, but not very religious. I did my holy communion and it didn’t interest me. Now I don’t consider myself religious. And never really believed in it (not being against people who are religious. It can be a really good and wonderful thing!). And I still have the feeling as being watched like in the Truman show. I have no idea where the feeling comes from for me.
On the subject of butter, they accualy make spredable butter that you can spread right out of the fridge. You also can keep butter on the counter for a week or two, you just have to worry about molding past that.
Watching Erik try to explain baseball, or really any sport, to Colleen just made my day. I was having a terrible night but have been laughing for the last 10 minutes because I was just as confused. Love you guys!!!
Is anyone else as obsessed with Colleen and her family as I am? I just adore them and look forward to hearing from them all the time. So lovely how much they share and how lucky I feel to have such a cool online family. Sending you all so much love
It’s crazy how much Erik and Colleen have gotten so used to the podcast and have become pros at it. Not only are the episodes entertaining, they’re also so loving, and each episode is like having a convo with your therapist, it’s so amazing! I love watching y’all grow together, I can’t wait to see your futures unravel. You two are some of my favorite people in the world, and I hope y’all continue finding and making happiness!!!💗💙
I really like listening to your viewpoints and your experiences with ADHD and anxiety, cause I have both myself and want to know more about how others experience it
17:00 Colleen, get a butter container that you can keep on your counter or the butter bell and you will never have cold, hard, unspreadable butter again
I warm up my stick of butter slightly by hovering (the partially unwrapped side facing downward) over the toaster as my morning bread or bagel is getting toasted. It helps afterwards when spreading the butter on.
Colleen & Erik, your podcast is a highlight of my week! Your conversations are fascinating, informative, and nearly always hilarious, and the way you bounce off each another is the best. You could talk about watching paint dry and I would still watch and listen; your dynamic is everything. 😍💫
23:49 Erik I beg of you please never EVER knock on wood again without a warning, I was listening to audio only, about to go to bed, room is dark, kinda zoned out and I hear this “knock, knock!” That increase in heart rate is enough to suffice my exercise this week, geez 😮💨
Huge morning person here. I have never slept past 9. I am always up at 6 am. I work an evening job. Mornings are my favorite thing. No ones up and its quiet. I walk my dog and eat breakfast, go to the gym and to the store if I need to before 9 am. I also keep my house at 62 F during winter and love the cold. Some might consider me to be a psychopath lol I also fall asleep within 42 seconds while staring at my phone. Every night. Don’t wake up during the night and hardly remember dreams. I never need an alarm cause my brain just knows that it needs to get up, even if its a 3 am flight lol Don’t worry, I have plenty of trauma and issues that balance these nice things lol
This has become like a nightly activity every week for me. I watch this episdoe or I watch Colleens vlogs. They put a smile on my face on my worst days
Hi Colleen and Eric, I love you guys and I want to tell you how much much joy you bring to my life🥰. I’m a fast food worker in AL and Covid has made my job and life a nightmare! Ive worked all the way through Covid and people can be so awful at times when we all need support and good vibes. I just want to let yall know how much joy you bring in my life and that I appreciate how hard yall work, so that I can have an interesting and real video to watch after a crappy day. Thankyou guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
OMFG THE TIMING OF THIS! I just cooked myself dinner for the duration of this episode and just as I am at the end and about to serve my food I see a notification for Colleen Vlogs UGH this is so amazing loool I'm so excited .
Hi Colleen and Erik! Your anniversary is on November 8. I remembered it during one of Colleen's vlogs last year. :) Hope this helps and I love tuning in to your podcast every week. 😃
you guys seriously brighten up my day like i went from crying from sadness then i watch this and i get 1:15:00 of crying from laughter, i appreciate yalls dedication, especially thru the pregnancy!
I love that they take time to learn eachother’s passions. We all know Colleen doesn’t have patience for a lot of things that don’t intrigue her but she wants to learn because she unconditionally loves Erik ♥️
Grateful for Colleen admitting and asking the sports questions that I'm too embarrassed to ask personally. And thankful for Erik for answering those obvious answers without hesitation or annoyance
I'm a morning person!! I have an anxiety disorder so if I'm not up by 7 am I get really anxious and then I have the routine from school days where I am most productive there.
My favorite thing about their parenting style is that they treat flynn as an adult and a kid all at once. They don’t expect him to be too old for his age but they speak to him as a human being and not their toddler. I love it so much
I think we need to have a react to the first episode and see how much enduring and dorky Erik has gotten and comfortable opening up. This podcast is the best makes my week every time :) love you both!
My Mom is TOTALLY a morning person. She feels so energetic and happy in the mornings and gets things done. Even if she tried to stay a sleep she just doesn't. She loves doing things in the morning, she says it makes her days longer. I on the other hand can NOT relate.
POV: you came back to watch this after the most recent episode where Erik was fiddling with his button for half a century
Absolutely! 🤣

OH MY GOD yes and also time stamp??

Yes! Lol 😂

Ahhhhh ur pfp

I couldn’t stop staring at Erik struggling to button his jacket. I barely heard any of the conversation during that part. 😂😂
I couldn't help smiling at it lol
Thank you for mentioning it, because I was cooking during that part and was only listening. I just rewound and watched and oh my goodness. 😂
it was super triggering to me. I know that feeling!
It’s a little distracting but it looks like he’s just fiddling, not necessarily struggling lol

Tysm I was searching for the time stamps of this 🙏
IM ACTUALLY SCREAMING ITS SO FUNNY. AHAHAHHA
I’m dying because Colleen said she never noticed it but she literally looks down at him doing it around 32:10
I love how random their conversations are 😂 I swear I could listen to them talk for days
This episode is just a reminder that Flynn gets 1000% of his faces and mannerisms from erik lmao
I can’t wait for Colleen to yell “I FEEL LIKE ME AGAIN” again
Was so crazy how fast that happened after she had Flynn! Made me so happy for her.
Every time I watch the birth vlog...thats the exact part I just lose it at, I can never stop crying after that lol.

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” The saying doesn’t mean you have to eat in the morning or eat “breakfast-y” foods. The term breakfast refers to breaking the fast. So the first meal you have after sleeping, could be lunch, is the most important meal of the day. Just want to try and make the first food of the day healthy/good.
Wow! I'm not fact checking this and am blindly believing it but I find this so incredibly interesting. Makes so much sense!

On the subject of butter, they accualy make spredable butter that you can spread right out of the fridge. You also can keep butter on the counter for a week or two, you just have to worry about molding past that.
is anyone gonna talk about how long it took erik to button his jacket?😭😭
I really like listening to your viewpoints and your experiences with ADHD and anxiety, cause I have both myself and want to know more about how others experience it
that bit of erik putting the fur ball in the fridge made sitting through the sports bit kinda worth it (albeit with a bunch of double taps).
17:00
Colleen, get a butter container that you can keep on your counter or the butter bell and you will never have cold, hard, unspreadable butter again
Caffeine is scientifically proven to increase anxiety. I learned this the hard way (bad panic attack) & now it's a once in a while treat for me.
I've never laughed so much omg the sports segment are you kidding me! I almost spit my drink multiple times🤣🤣
Some might consider me to be a psychopath lol
I also fall asleep within 42 seconds while staring at my phone. Every night. Don’t wake up during the night and hardly remember dreams. I never need an alarm cause my brain just knows that it needs to get up, even if its a 3 am flight lol
Don’t worry, I have plenty of trauma and issues that balance these nice things lol
I love everything about this episode. Makes me smile and laugh.
I SO!…needed the sheer extreme amount of giggles, laughs &serious guffaws in this podcast❣️‼️♥️THANK YOU COLLEEN&ERIC❣️
my step dad wakes up singing and dancing and is genuinely such a happy morning person
This has become like a nightly activity every week for me. I watch this episdoe or I watch Colleens vlogs. They put a smile on my face on my worst days
I choose to wake up at 5:30 am for FUN. I don't know why I like mornings so much but no matter how late I stay up, I wake up before the sun.
I’ve always kept a stick of butter out of the fridge, in order to keep it room temp to spread it. I’ve never gotten sick from doing this haha
Here’s my attempt to blow Colleen’s mind: So there’s actually a baseball team in the National League called the Nationals.
I literally sing the theme song multiple times a day for no reason 😅
I used to and my husband goes, "I need to relax?" 🤣
OMFG THE TIMING OF THIS! I just cooked myself dinner for the duration of this episode and just as I am at the end and about to serve my food I see a notification for Colleen Vlogs UGH this is so amazing loool I'm so excited .
Hi Colleen and Erik! Your anniversary is on November 8. I remembered it during one of Colleen's vlogs last year. :) Hope this helps and I love tuning in to your podcast every week. 😃
underrated comment lol love the podcast and feel like they are relationship goals
you guys seriously brighten up my day like i went from crying from sadness then i watch this and i get 1:15:00 of crying from laughter, i appreciate yalls dedication, especially thru the pregnancy!
As a Kentuckian, my heart was happy to hear Kentucky mentioned. It’s the little things.
Hi, I'm also a Kentuckian! When did they mention KY and how did I miss it?! 😂
I'm a morning person!! I have an anxiety disorder so if I'm not up by 7 am I get really anxious and then I have the routine from school days where I am most productive there.
I started liking mornings when my kids got older and I wasn’t sleep deprived anymore. Now that the kids sleep in, it’s my only time to myself! 😂
My favorite thing about their parenting style is that they treat flynn as an adult and a kid all at once. They don’t expect him to be too old for his age but they speak to him as a human being and not their toddler. I love it so much
"Thigh butter!?? Who wants thigh butter?!?" 😂😂💀
It's better than crotch butter!
This podcast is just my favorite thing. Don’t ever stop C and E.
I am a morning person and it's because......I changed my schedule lol
And I legitimately feel my BEST in the morning
