“We” have the “holy” 2.2 oz Titanium framelock and it hasn’t left my “house 👖 “ pocket since it arrived. I’m shocked how much we 💛 and enjoy this knife around 🏠 Great for food prep, 📦, 📨, package openings and all my home edc tasks. Best 🥩 knife too! Keto friendly 😄 Got to have on of these in your PJs, gym shorts etc
In looking at the Dogtooth, I was surprised that the CF scales were left so square. Thought they would be refined a little more. As far as ergos, it fits my hand very well but the turned up end of the pocket clip stabs me in the pad of the hand! Thanks for sharing!
Hmmm, interesting that you had the hot spot. I actually sort of like how square the scales are, makes it feel a little better for me in hand. The position of things is just a bit awkward for my hand. Very cool to see how people in the passaround can see things differently. Looking forward to checking out your vid.
@@JTsKnifeLife I squared off scales werent bad in any way...just surprised me I guess. Loved everything about the knife really until I got to the pocket clip. Just detracts for the overall beauty of the knife for me.
I got one in a charity giveaway. I did not think I was going to like it, but i was wrong. It is so light and the action is so smooth. Only complaints are the jimping on the top should have gone further up and I don't think the compound grind was necessary and makes the knive look a bit too aggressive. Esthetically the grind was the no.1 thing that was detracting me from the knife, but I'm over it.
Got the blue anodized version and it's a good one for sure. Not the most useful blade shape for me and it feels a bit cramped (not bad). Don't really use mine, just bought it because it looks cool and the price is hard to pass up. The anodization is also weathering in nicely, kinda blue jeans after a few washes. The pocket clip is too shinny but it's an easy fix. Glad to have it in the collection. Your CF scale version looks sweet! Might have to get that too. Hats off to WE. Again...
Of course it’s WE.. They just keep making some of the better knives and I agree with your comment. That the stuff they make on the side almost better than their own stuff
JT's Knife Life I agree the Massdrop/WE collabs are excellent value and quality! I own the gent, crux, and keen and all are amazing for the price point and oh That keen is it sweet! Been eyeing that Dogtooth a while but idk if i can pull the trigger on her. I do think its a nice piece though.
Another nice review JT! Looking forward to adding this liner lock version to my collection. I agree with your assessments based on my experience with my two frame lock versions. This is a high quality little piece worth every penny. One additional point I think worth mentioning: A real Brad Zinker knife nearly identical to the Massdrop CF version runs about $600. So hell yah this Massdrop version at $120 is an outstanding value!
Exactly! I have a friend who actually grew up with Brad, and he has a custom fixed blade that is just a beauty. Getting a folder? Man that would be special. Good thing these Massdrop ones are so nice we don't have to worry about that!
I like this version more than the titanium "holey" one offered currently. Like you, I find a lot of appeal in WE-manufactured knives designed by others more so than WE designs. Totally agree that the Dogtooth is a good value. Great review, JT!
First two knives I thought of when I saw the Dogtooth was the Leek and the Des Horn. Have you ever done a review on the Des Horn? A gents knife for sure.
It's a cool knife but is it a better value than the Kershaw leek with full carbon fiber slabs full liners liner lock and cpm154 steel all for around $65-70?
That's a hell of a question. I think that Leek is a really good value, really good. It compares favorably to the Dogtooth for the price difference. The Dogtooth does the same thing for knives more expensive than it is though, do I guess it comes down to what you're really in the market for. Nice comparison with that Leek though, I appreciate it.
This is a really handsome knife. The size and weight are right in my wheelhouse. I have the Massdrop/Ferrum Forge/We Gent and am very happy with it. This one is now at the top of my wish list. As always, thanks for the video!
It's just breathtaking! I love the carbon fiber, so attractive. I happen to own some Brad Zinker knives by Boker (Urban Trapper, FR) and this model obviously fits right in. Thank you for showing it to us JT.
Very disappointed in the wood scales on mine. They look NOTHING like the scales on the sell page. Also the knife was MUCH smaller than I anticipated (my bad). I own a lot of WE knives. This is my least favorite. I should have ordered a CF or Ti version with holes. Oh well....
I really don't like that kind of choil. I think the compound grind would be a royal pain to sharpen correctly. I do like the weight. My hand is to big for it though. I think it will sell well and is a good knife just to small for me.
jesus, the dogtooth makes that Benchmade look way overpriced. we have been getting "got" this whole time. Im sorry, but Benchmade is starting took look like a joke. WE knives actually values our Business. They keep producing Quality.
I think Benchmade produces a lot of quality, but the WE/Massdrop collaborations give us some incredible value that's hard for Benchmade to match. No doubt about that
@@JTsKnifeLife your absolutely right. I ordered the exact same dogtooth as the one you reviewed. I believe I get it on the 5th. Of May, I can't wait. I've been carrying a Ferrum Forge Massdrop Dao and I love it. I was looking at the Massdrop Gent in Carbon Fiber, but the sleek lines of the Dogtooth and your review made me pull the trigger on the Carbon Fiber Dogtooth.... Thanks. Lol. 👍🏽
My only complaint is the scales are very slick. Wish there was more grip on the CF.
Hmmm, I didn't see it as an issue, but the scales weren't particularly high traction, you're right.
JT's Knife Life my CF biblio is the same. Maybe Im just not a CF fan

It's definitely a good knife at a great price!
Got the frame lock in blue and liked it enough to get the wood version with the liner lock. I like it even more!
Good to hear. I like the look of the wood one as well!
Nice. Love that it has a deep carry clip. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I personally am a fan. Great review as always!
I like the clip a lot on it, to be sure.

I can’t get over the branding for whatever reason, but the blade itself looks great
I've heard a few people say that, but it doesn't seem to be too excessive for me. Sometimes yeah, but on this knife it didn't bother me too much.
I’m the sucker who would pay extra for less printing. Not much extra though 😬
Thanks for sharing this one JT.
My pleasure!
I don't know why i didn't see this vid before. I love Brad Zinker's designs. I will have to get my hands on one of these soon. Thanks JT
Sire thing bud!
The liner lock is carbidized
I have the liner lock version in wood scales. It’s got excellent action- one of the best I own. I might pick up the CF version in this vid.
Yessss I love this blade
It's a beauty, isn't it?

I'm going to get one!! Thanks for the reviews.
Very cool, hope you enjoy it!

I just tend to like the non WE designs more. They seem more practical and to my tastes.

First two knives I thought of when I saw the Dogtooth was the Leek and the Des Horn. Have you ever done a review on the Des Horn? A gents knife for sure.
I have a top lightweight knives and gents knives videos out there somewhere that feature this knife. But no full review that I can remember.

I have a Leek in the compound D2 and a Dogtooth liner lock. I like carrying the Dogtooth while don’t carry the former.
I have the framelock version. Probably my favorite knife. It's so good that I want to buy the liner lock version as well.
Nice, good to hear!
What sup JT - love this Brad Zinker design. You headed to Blade in ATL?
Hey man, yeah, I'll definitely be at Blade Show. Couldn't be more excited for it!

Wish I had gotten in on this when they had this version I'm not in to the holed titanium
It'll be back soon in multiple different variations, no worries!

Really awesome more knife reviews!!!
Thank you!
@@JTsKnifeLife you're welcome ^^
Simple & clean- I like it alot. I do wish the clip was a bit sleepier. Good job JT.
Thanks man, much appreciated!
Found yourself a fun little knife eh??!! This looks like a fun one to try out. Thanks for breaking down the to 10 list!
It was a fun one, I hate having to pass it along!
It sure is a looker mate. Atb paddy 👍😊☘️
Just like the reviewer! 😁
paddys potato peelers and it CUTS. My favorite around the house edc. Slices like crazy 😜

I do like the weight. My hand is to big for it though. I think it will sell well and is a good knife just to small for me.
It's a bit of an awkward size, still really good but an extra half inch of frame would really help.
Mr. CRKT and Mr. Boker should collaborate with WE. Imagine that...
That would be amazing. 👍
Looks a lot like the crkt lck but much better materials. I can’t stand holes in the handle. That blade looks great.
Hahahaha yeah, those holes really aren't for everyone.

Stop chewing your nails.
But yes that’s a good looking knife. I didn’t like the hole design this one is more my style.
Probably won't stop chewing my nails, unfortunately. Still not the ugliest fingers on UA-cam though. Close, but not the worst.
