- ☀️ WELCOME! ☀️ Are you ready to DITCH THE RULES and just have some fun? Recently I was able to get an ENTIRE BONUS QUILT from LEFTOVERS from another project! This quilt doesn't require planning, just grab your scrap pile and start sewing🧵. Put on a good movie or your favorite music and enjoy a quick easy quilt project! This quilt is made from leftovers from a different quilt! And I was so happy to be able to use all this fabric up and make something pretty! I know that some kiddo is going to treasure this quilt that was handmade with love! ❤️. I ended up with 20 blocks measuring 11" x 11", and I used 2.5" strips in white for the sashing. This was a FOUR HOUR QUILT, because what I started with were larger bits from a prior project.
The project these scraps came from can be found here:

I spy the yellow sheet again! Omg!
Yes! When that sheet is truly gone, I will have to make a video with all the projects that it went into. It's kind of neat! ☀️
Enjoy watching your videos
I appreciate that!
Thank you, Annette. Another very pretty scrap quilt! You're helping me break out! ⚘️
I'm so glad! ☀️
I wasn't sure when you started, but it turned out great! And no waste for those orphan blocks.
Thanks so much!
I like this a bunch!
Yay! I'm glad! ☀️❤️
This scrap series you are doing is truly amazing. I could watch you make a scrap quilt everyday. There are so many of us who are terribly fond of our scraps. Please keep it up. You produce very good videos.
Thank you so much!
When I make scrap blocks, I find it helpful to do a basting stitch around each block to help with bias.
Great tip!
You did it again 🤩 You started off with a pile of ‘no hopers’ and turned it into a beauty 👏👏🇬🇧
HA! No Hopers! I had not heard that before, but it certainly DOES describe the situation! Thank you so much!
😳’no hopers’👏👏👏 I love it
❤️😀
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Thank you great tips
Glad it was helpful!
Your quilt is amazing, each block tells a story, as to its origin. ❤
Oh thank you!
Great job! I had to go back and admire the first quilt, too. That's two perfectly wonderful quilts from the scrappiest of scraps. I never thought your bias plaid sheet set would contribute so much, not just in fabric, but in liveliness. Scraps are the bomb when they work out like that!
THANKS! Yes, that yellow/green sheet set was a contributor in at least 5 quilts now! I may have to do a special video just on that! Most will be/have been donated, but one of them I was able to gift to a good friend's adult daughter, and it makes me happy to know she loved it as much as I did! It's this one, if you missed it. Have a great day!

Your quilt turned out real cute, nice job
☀️. Thank you!
Your scaps are in a good color combination.
Thank you!
Scrappy is Happy! Beautiful idea for scrappy blocks!
Thank you! (and I agree wholeheartedly!)
This video was so satisfying to watch 😊
☀️ It was certainly satisfying to make as well! Thank you! ☀️
I knew you would do something clever with those off cuts. I pit the pieces that were long enough in the border, but now wish I had the large triangles to use. Good job!
Ha! Thank you! But you know there WILL be a next time! :-)
I Love it....the yellow in it makes it a joy to look at.
That old sheet set was included in at least 5 quilts! Thank you for your kind comment.
Turned out beautiful!!! I am going to start on one!!❤️
Yay! Thank you!
Que lindo. Que bom ver o que podemos fazer com os blocos que restaram de projetos anteiores. Gratidão
You're so welcome! Thank you for your kind comment.
Thank you so much. Your videos are very clear for a novice like me. You're very creative
I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you!
Love it, thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Ohhhh it’s awesome, I must check out the prior quilt you mentioned!!!
❤️😀
Thank you! You should check it out for sure! Here's a link to use!

So beautiful! 💖👵🏻
Thank you! 😊
Lovely! I’ve just made two donation quilts using scraps; however, I don’t appear to have made much of a dent in my scrap box! I’ll keep going…👍🏼
It's amazing isn't it!? We TRY and try to use up our scraps, and yet, they just won't disappear! But it IS a lot of fun to work with them. Thank you!
It's beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
I baste around the edges also.
That's great!
Looks great!
Thanks, Vera!
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
Nice job. ❤
Thanks! 😊
Beautiful
Thank you!
I saw a picture online of a scrap quilt block idea. I made it and it's beautiful. If I could find it again, I would post it. However, pick 2 strong colors, I chose red and a burnished yellow. Sew your scraps into as many 2 1/2" squares and sew them into long strips. You'll be alternating the blocks between a red dominant and a yellow dominant. Cut a 4 1/2" square of the red or yellow. Frame it with the scrap 2 1/2" square string. Then frame that with 2 1/2" strips of the red of yellow. Continue until you get the size block you want. I did mine at the 20" mark. Your second block will be to start with a 4 1/2" square of scrap strings. Frame this with whatever color you didn't use in the first block of the red or yellow 2 1/2" strips. I got rid of a ton of scraps with this design since I made it for a king size quilt.
☀️ That's a fantastic idea. Check out this video for my adding machine tape strips.☀️ ua-cam.com/video/MEYYtT_koXo/v-deo.html
Can you post the finished size / goal of your quilt ... It would make it easier for viewers to plan their quilts .... I am guessing this project came out about 52 inches square without boarders
Yup, on all my newer videos you'll find finished size. Thanks!
How big was your “tube”…
I think my stitched lines were around 8.5 to 9 inches or so apart on that tube.
@@sunbeamfabricart I have not done that before… do you make a strip set then sew together to make the tube?
@@patriciadavidson3328 Here are a couple of ideas. The first tube quilt i ever made was based on a tutorial by Missouri Star called "Summer Squares", which you can search and find. It's a good one! In this case I was just trying to clear out scraps and watch this video (link below) to see what I did. I had SO MANY strips, and they were not any certain size and had various jagged edges, and I just wanted to clear them out. Enjoy this earlier video and I hope you find this information helpful! CHEERS! ua-cam.com/video/ntl5wWK0Njk/v-deo.html
Thank you for the extra video… really helped❤️
Thanks!
