    The Channel Mixer is hidden by default. To make it and some others eg B&W conversion you need to select it in Customise Adjustments - accessed by the menu button next to the reset adjustments. Excellent review Rob.

    Great review, Rob; I have both and have not as yet used them on IR photography. I generally use Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and sometimes Luminar NEO (I have Laurie Klein's plugins for NEO).

    Thanks for making this video Rob I’ve been waiting for this, is there a way to make a custom DNG profile or something similar? I use the iPad Pro version. I don’t have a computer so I use my IPad for everything until I find a good deal on a MAC I like the price of $24.99 a year or $4.99 mo.

      You really don't need a DNG profile, since the built in WB tools work great.

      @@robshea thanks Rob do I need to do anything special to get broader WB range instead of a limit?

    Nice video!
    How do you think the editing tools would do for portrait work, where I want to remove blemishes/scars/etc, then dodge/burn and maybe a little liquification once in a while? As you know, I'm currently using very old versions of LR and PS (5.7 and CS6, respectively) on an old iMac, but I've upgraded and looking for possible non-Adobe options.

      The repair tool is great! You can certainly dodge and burn with layers. for something like liquification, you might need to try Pixelmator Pro, as I didn't see anything like that in Photomator. Both versions have free trials.

      The only think I really love Lightroom for is the cataloging...I'm so used to it and all my work for the past decade is in LR catalogs. That will be the toughest aspect to give up. I"m still undecided...

      Hi Rob, thanks for covering this. I’m going to take a look at it, currently I’m using Photoshop and Lightroom, do you know if the custom profiles sync across the devices in adobe products also?

      Hi Rob great video as always. I used to use LT Standalone, still do on my old 13MacBkPro but very very slow process. Now use iPad Pro 12inch and noticed I have Photomator but never used it as I did not want to subscribe but now I do. One thing that’s holding me back is that there is no channel mixer on my version. Is this only available on subscription? Thanks for sharing.

    Did you do an update on shooting infrared with more modern iPhones? Is it on your book?

    • @robshea
      @robshea  3 місяці тому

      I have an iPhone 12, but have not shot IR with anything newer.

    Any Export settings you would recommend?

    • @robshea
      @robshea  9 місяців тому +1

      It depends on what you will be using the exported image for. For social media, JPEG at 80% or better will provide good image quality. If you are sending the image to another image editor or to a third-party printer, then use TIFF or PNG with 16 Bits/Channel. To display on iPhone or iPad, use HEIC with 85% quality or one of the HDR formats. If you want to continue to edit the image on another device, use the Photomator Document format.
