IMO Pixelmator Pro and Photomator have become macOS killer applications, i.e. apps that are so good that they alone justify the purchase of a Mac.
I would absolutely love a deep dive of how you use Photomator. Very big Sidecars-files and I don’t know how to set it up for best use. Also how you integrate it with the iPad and iPhone versions for best use.
I think all
Your guises are very helpful. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work 💪💪
Photomator wish list as of now: better photo comparison tools, selective copy/paste adjustments, color profile assigning and coverting.
Please keep doing those incredible and useful videos. Those are the best videos I found on Pixelmator and Photomator so far
I’m also more than open to pay for an online course coming from you !
Thank you so much! I’ve always been curious about the best ways of doing a paid course. Have you used any platforms for things like that before?
@@JosephSlinker teachable might be good for this and yes I would pay for your course too.
@KwakuEshun thanks for the suggestion! For now I want to try and let people volunteer to pay me by being a UA-cam member.
@@JosephSlinker Yes ! Udemy
Just stumbled across Photomator and then your videos, have now purchased Photomator and subscribed to your channel, please make more videos about Photomator, I watched all you Pixelmator Pro Masterclasses at stupid o'clock last night, can you now do the same with Photomator, love your teaching style, so easy to follow, thanks a lot.
Photomator is next! It might take me a few months though. Gotta keep up with my day job too. 😅
I’ve been using it instead of photoshop for blending raw photos. I’ve really enjoyed it. I wish it had plugin integration with something like DxO PureRaw.
I hope they add a function to straighten verticals and horizontals like with Upright in Lightroom
I have an issue with Photomator - no ability to add metadata. As you show in your informative Photomator 3.3 video, it's great to be able to open an external drive that you've had laying around. And if I do that, I do not want to import those old images into Photos or have to jump into Pixelmator Pro just to add metadata - copyright, keywords, etc. I'm disappointed the developers haven't addressed this in 3.3
I don’t think you’re alone in this request. It’s the number 1 comment I see online.
Very happy with photomator so far. The one irritation I continue to have is that the "auto-adjust" function doesn't do nearly as well as Lightroom does. With LR it was "auto" then tweak a bit. With Photomator it's "auto", then usually "undo" then manually adjust stuff. Not by any means a deal killer but still an annoyance. It's still far and away the best price vs function option out there, IMO.
Thanks for doing these great tutorials.
Can you sync settings / adjustments -
- over selected photos like you can with Lightroom? you can copy/paste the settings but only one by one. can you do it on multiple at once?
You should be able to select multiple photos at once and apply edits.
Keep these coming!!
I hope they will add the ability to create white borders (frames) similar to what Darkroom has. I absolutely hate sending the final edits to Darkroom just for that purpose. And maybe I'm doing something wrong but some pictures which looked great in Photomator look awful in Darkroom after importing.
You should check out the latest Photomator update. It gives the ability to add frames.
My mac is blind to what is on my NAS, search and finder just die there. This looks like the answer i have been looking for. You mentioned videos. If it views braw… oh my.
In the past, they relied on Apple's Photos for the Browser, they later added the confusing "Photo Browser" which appears to be a one shot, so you can select a photo, edit it, then if you want to go back to the photo browser you need to go to File Open Photos, and open another pic. A bit clunky. In Photoshop I'm able to see my work in Lightroom, then edit in Photoshop but it's more integrated. Why even bother having the Pixelmator Photo Browser as a feature when you can't revert back to it after you select a photo and edit?
If you use the photo browser option you can actually open entire folders, even if they’re nested. No need to open photos one at a time.
I occasionally use Pixelmator Pro, but I will not use Rentware.
If you’re referring to Photomators subscription, you can always just purchase the lifetime license and never pay the subscription.
@@JosephSlinker Which is quite expensive when I already have plenty of other photo editors.
This is great for those of us who have libraries of external drives of our vacations/friends/kids...lives
I imagine there’s quite a few of us out there. 😅
@@JosephSlinker same here. Even my main Photos library is on external drive.
I really appreciate you man.
Great videos. Thank you! So when I make edits in Photomator, they are not going to show up in Photos, right? So there will be 2 libraries for me to maintain/backup? If I stop using Photomator, then all edits will be gone? Ideally I would love to load photos into my Photo library, then go to Photomator to make the edits and have those edits take place the Photo library, so I could create a hared album for the family. Is that possible? Thank you!!
The edits, the original, and the edited photo all stick around, but you can’t change the edits from the Apple photos app.
I’d love some brushes for things like sharpening
I haven't thought about that, but I imagine you could pull that off with some effects layers and masking.
I need for Photomator to be able to print similar to Lightroom. Then I would GLADLY replace Lightroom with Photomator.
Could Photomator now replace apple Photos ?
Sort of. The editing tools in Photomator have always been better, but Apple Photos has features for tagging, people, pets, and places. That’s why the default configuration is they both pull from the same photo library.
File browser? Now, that's great! Still not enough for what I need, but who knows.
I’d love to hear what else you need to make it your go to tool.
@@JosephSlinker Extensive XMP editing (like Adobe Bridge can do) for a start. I have to admit that my needs are a bit special. I'll keep Photomator in mind, it does have its merrits.
