The Young Ones introduced this Aussie to Motörhead in the 80’s. Brilliantly funny show and great music as well!! Love both!! I have to add that Lemmy was an absolute legend right up until the end. And he adored women, not in an objectifying derogatory way, he truly loved females, and said that that they were like him but just with tits!! What an amazing man. He lived an amazing life!
Ditto!
First year uni for me, and The Young Ones was compulsory viewing. That’s where I first heard this song, and have liked it ever since… even tho I’m not a metal fan
I still think "To the station! ...Music!" when I think of Ace of Spades
Wow guys, these were two brilliant tracks. Lemmy and Motorhead in general was for me around the pinnacle of British Rock. Just so frigging good.
I haven't seen that fan video of I won't Pay Your Price before, I know the song, just not the video. However, what stood out to me was that this looked like the birth of Babymetal. For 13 years Babymetal's producer, Kobayashi Key (better known as Kobametal) has been credited with coming up with the Babymetal concept - Heavy metal combined with choreographed dance. Clearly Koba had seen this fan made video and pinched the idea of Stan and Ollie dancing to heavy metal and then just to avoid copyright, added melodic JPop vocals. A concept that has made hundreds of millions of dollars for Amuse (Babymetal's Production company), but the idea may well have been lifted from the person who put this video together. Stan and Ollie in choreographed dance to speed metal, simply brilliant.
So cool!!!
I saw Motorhead in the 80,s in a pub gig in Melbourne... loudest gig Ive been to, i was nearly blown out the door! Magic RIP Lemmy
PARDON????
I absolutely love this song as it was played regularly at my poker nights at uni.
Dead man’s hand.
I understand that Lemmy wasn't a bass player, but when he heard that was what was wanted he played the bass like a lead guitar, and the rest is ... LEGEND! Keep Rocking!
You’re right and when he did play he played chords.
Saw them first in ‘75 at The Marquee and many times after bloody marvellous
Loved the OG marquee.
When I first heard "Ace of Spades" back in 1980, I fell in love with that song! It's an all-time classic. I think you guys have already reacted to at least two of my three favorite Motorhead tracks ("Ace of Spades" and "Bomber"), I guess I'd suggest the third . . . "Iron Fist" . . . but maybe other fans can help you fill out the much hyped but never realized "Overkill" week, lol!
We just got to find tine Brian. It’s 4am in in an airport and G is in another town now.
Motorhead are that good, they would have fitted in quite well in the Aussie pub rock scene.
They would have been perfect!!
I’m here for you guys! I enjoy the show so the music helps but I can easily imagine having a beer with the pair of you.
Your round zen. Again!!
I’m glad that you didn’t forget the Overkill-Week. 😁
Sooooon
God bless you, Lem. We miss you.
My favorite two bad magicians! Who garden!! Alex has his own style of writing notes, but it is sure entertaining.
Alex was not wrong about the pacing, holy crap! The video combined with the track on the bonus was pretty hilarious. Going back to the speed you guys need to check out "Goodbye (Astrid Goodbye)" by Cold Chisel with that kind of speed and a rockabilly twist. And Jimmy Barnes killing it on vocals.
What about 5 days of War Pigs after that Overkill week? Sounds fun to me and I know of 3 versions you may or may not have heard.
Oh. War pugs. Good choice.
What you see is what you get buckle in and enjoy the ride!
Was surfing the Network. Came across a vocal coach analyzing Ozzie’s vocals. For me what impressed me was Randy Rhoda’s. It reminded me of how great Rhoda’s was as a guitar player
My favorite was Crazy Train. Not sure if you are still doing guitar hero’s Randy Rhoda’s and Jeff Healey deserve to be included
Let's blast through this reaction. I'm reality excited to see what happens to Uncle Jesse's moon shine. I loved the mosh pits from this era. You knocked someone down the guy behind would help them up. There was an understanding on proper pit behavior .
Ha ha.
The first rule of Motörhead Mosh Pit is you don’t talk about Motörhead Mosh Pit.
You just did!
@@TheThamesmen Dammit!
Don't let Alex watch the Ollie & Stan film, George, he'll be hard pushed not to blub by the end
I try and Stay Clean if you do Overkill. Overkill is also a Men At Work track - bloody good too
Cool
Fk. Yes. 🤘🤘
🍺☮️
Is Lemmy playing a 24 fret bass??
He plays chords
@@TheThamesmen Thought he was more denim & leather 😇
Any chance that you guys have the time to honor Linda Ronstadt Realize the back up but she deserves a week if you have an opening. Curious is Gordon Lightfoot on your horizon
Enjoyed today blast from the past.
Prob not on Linda. Not yet as we are still 1 yr out to be able to do new weeks.
@@TheThamesmen no problem not sure how much you know of her but a great vocalist
I support a 5-day run of Overkill.
Fantastic. It will happen
Thought you might be interested came across I think you would enjoy. Randy Rhoads live tribute video.
What a waste of a great talent.
What a waste
@@TheThamesmen the thing I didn’t know is Rhoads was a major influence in Ozt,s turning himself around.
@@TheThamesmen take a listen to Rhoads fills. On crazy train and how good Ozzie’s voice was
