In case you might assumed they are spam packages, FYI we sent you a couple parcels with yellow holiday offerings inside just so you don't have to be so bashful about your brushed bruisers with the boys
I actually just got those yesterday 😁👍🏻 Thank you very much. I was trying to get your email to thank you personally.
It’s probably in my inbox but I’m really busy because I’m on vacation 🤦🏻♂️ LoL
@@FunkFPV no worries. Torquetestchannel@gmail.com is us. Enjoy the beans!
hmm, given the video, i almost wonder if the offerings are going to be red to the normal folks.
yooooooooooo nice alliteratiooooooon
I love your shorts but your reviews are my fav. The uncle I never had.😅
Well said! 😅😊
I got the reload one and returned it the next day for that one. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and LOVE IT!
I picked up a pair of ToughBuilt folding metal sawhorses from the old blue store. They were a bit less cost than the others and have served me really well. Keeping my eye on the brand for other tools.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Funk. And the same to everyone in the comments.
Been trying to find a pair of those saw horses, nobody has them in stock. Ill keep looking.
Thanks, I'll have both now just like you. The special blades cost no more than regular blades. Lowes had both in stock. Great followup. My wee get the regular and I'll get the scraper one.
Watching this on my lunch break. Welder in Warfordsburg,PA Love your channel and all the effoert made! Always look forward to seeingba new video, short or long
That’s not too far from me. Maybe I’ll get a service call on one of your forklift someday. 😜
I work in asbestos removal. We use utility knifes every day to cut the plastic sheeting to create the work areas. Having a dull blade makes it more difficult to do your job and slows you down. I saw this scraper utility knife and gave it a shot. It's a unique knife that i keep on my tool belt next to a DeWalt knife that I'm a bit rougher on.
+Unique knife that allows you to scrape paint, glue residue, and stuck duct tape with ease!
+Blades seem to last longer than other brands (to my experience)
+Strong rear tab to open cans or pry small stuff open.
-You cant be as rough on this blade to stuff open ( the flipping mechanism will become weak and you will have to help it 'flip' to scrapper mode)
-Blades are unique to this blade and more expensive
-The yellow tab to switch blades is sometimes super hard to press and small so its easy to slip while trying to press it (cut my self once with a the dirty blade trying to remove it)
-The slider to take out the blade is very sensitive ( I've put it in my pocket and it has released the tip of the blade out cutting my jeans and fingers while diggin in to reach for it.
I have bought 3 of these knifes, it makes my job easier. Just don't go too hard on it and keep some of its special blades on reserve. I'm actually gonna go out and buy more blades for it after this. The knife is cool but could use some improvements.
Nice 👍🏻
10 out of 10 video no points deducted
🏆 great comment 🏆
I wasn’t even wearing shoes 😎
@@FunkFPV I could tell
I bought this thing a few weeks ago and love it. If for nothing else... a great fidget toy. Also works great to clean my glass top stove.
A couple things to be aware of. I recently purchased this knife and encountered the following things:
1) the 5 spares in that little box are not secure in there. They WILL slip out of the box, even with the box closed.
2) The proprietary blades are NOT cheap in comparison to all major competitors at 100 pack or Kobalt or Irwin cost $14.98 - Craftsman 75 pack for $15.98 - Toughbuilt 50 pack $14.98. That's double the cost of the leading competitors at the store you likely bought this from.
3) The scraper function of this knife works well in certain conditions, but definitely not most. It wont work well on your car's annual registration or inspection stickers on many cars. The angle is wrong.
4) Blade removal "appears" to be simple, but in practice, it isn't. Pushing that cheap plastic yellow tab could result in fingers slipping under, on the edge side.
I'm not saying the tool is useless, but it is definitely gimmicky and has some flaws. And since I own one, I do have buyers remorse.
same got it on sale and i wouldnt have taken it if it was free... did not mention it needs special proprietary blades
Yeaa that's a neat little toy and I would honestly own it just because it looks fun. However it would never work for my purposes. And the sheer amount of blades I blow threw in a week no
I want both myself but I think you're right, the scraper one seems more useful. If they could reduce the size of either a bit I think they would better.
I had the scraper. The thing opened up in my back pocket. Almost cut my butt. Definitely needs a sheath. Also, because of how thick it is, it doesn't get as close as most other utility knives. I have it away real quick and bought a DeWalt cutter. It is super fun tho.
I saw someone else's short about the magazine knife..... INSTANTLY drove to lowes and bought 2 of them... One for me and one for my dad
I work at a big box store that sells these. If I find one where it doesn't belong I keep it for most of my shift and play with it before putting back where it belongs.
I almost expected a gnarly toenail to be the blade but only if there was a jumpcut of some type.
Lucky that you had a utility knife handy to open the package! Darn. I need yet another knife gadget. Thanks. LOL
A few years ago, The Home Depot had "special " scissors for opening the diffuclt to open plastic packaging. Irony; it was packaged in the difficult to open packaging. You needed a utility knife to open it.
@@newguy2794 I am painfully aware of the irony. LOL!
Previous knife: Regular fun. This knife: DELUXE fun!
I agree, the "clip" would be fun
Good tool for mechanics for scraping washers and old gaskets when rebuilding engines and machinery
I bought a tough built eagle claw knife because it looked cool, but it's actually a great tool the shape is genius and durable for a working knife
All I buy is the ToughBuilt blades. They are sharp and don't chip badly when I abuse them. Since I switched I've only broken one blade using it as a screwdriver.
I bought one to scrape off a sump gasket and sealant. It was spot on
We got some of these at work. Didn't take long for them to go in the trash.
$7 for 30 isn't that bad. Found a Christmas gift for my old man so thank you.
If I got one for Christmas I’d definitely be happier 😁 Better than socks and a coffee mug 😜
We are so blessed you keep pumping out content. I’m not joking it makes my day 75% better.
Thanks 🙏🏻 😊
"Luckily i have a utility knife..." that got me. 😂
Funny thing is I didn’t even need it 🤦🏻♂️😜
Best Scraper and box cutter ever
I got one for my 5-year old. Let the life lessons begin! 😊
😂😂
Absolutely love this scraper/utility knife. Hopping online to order one. Thank you tremendously and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
You do the same bud 😎👍🏻
I use this at work for removing labels and anything needing a scraper.
Much better than the cheap $.50 scraper my work would’ve given me.
Clever idea for the covertible!
Greatest part of that scraper? All that clicking is just oh so satisfying... I'm amazed I haven't worn mine out yet
Adult men doing "show and tell" with cool new tools is my favorite thing about the internet!
Wait... now that I think of it, uh, one of my favorite things about the internet.
Mister Funk FPV totally rocks!
I'd love to have a couple of beers with him. Im sure it would be great entertainment!
That is great packaging!!
I like the scraper function.
love your videos man keep up the good work 👍
Love it - thanks for sharing.
No toes or finger wagging? WOW!
Awesome video! I really don't like the proprietary blade. It's not a deal breaker but every time I use it I'll feel that irk of "this might become useless before it wears out" and that feels too much like Apple, honestly.
I'm not a fan either but in this case they are required for the scraper version. If they aren't much more than normal blades I might just stock up on a bunch, once I actually buy the knife.
The paint opener end also doubles as a soda/beer can opener if you have short nails
It's a handy knife for painting and I'm sure other things. I bought another pack of the blades and don't use it unless I can use its function. I have only used a few blades so I can live with the cost. If it catches on I'm sure there will be copies and blade options.
The blades seem sharper and the points are stronger.
Ive been meaning to get one for a while.
Great video 👍
I got.
One of those, they're pretty cool.
I don't need one of those, but now I have to get one, maybe two 💯✌️🔱⚓🇺🇲🇺🇲
It fun to play with but it's so thick, especially near where the blade comes out it doesn't get into tight spaces in cut or scraper mode and the build quality is pretty cheap the screws holding the rubber handles on only go in like a half a thread and fall out and the handles fall off
man I'm like you. I LOOOOVE gadgets. I am rather shocked that toughbuilt makes anything I would like. I do wonder though, how long that mechanism will last under heavy use. I'll get me one and find out though heh. I kid you not I bet i have at least 50 utility knives. Consequences of being a reseller buying tool pallets, they don't sell well so I hold on to them. But i use them in both my businesses every day. The reloading one I find more attractive than the scraper, but I will go pick them both up. May start me a wall and halg me a diverse collection of utility knives lol
I’m kind of curious myself how it’ll hold up with someone who uses one all day.
I was concerned about the proprietary nature of the blades too, but as you say, that custom holes allows the whole mechanism to work, so I'm fine with it. They can be used in other knives, but not the other way around.
I definitely want one don't need it but I want it 😂
My thoughts exactly 😁👍🏻
Awsome! A hell of a tool! And cool one )
Thanks Wes!
Woah.. that is one slick design. I must order one 👍👍👍👊 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend 👊
You do the same 👍🏻
Never seen a magazine fed utility knife before
I got both of these a few months ago. They're both pretty decent knives. They definately make things a little easier. Plus they're kimda fun to fidget. The proprietary blades don't bother me. I have always resharpened my utility knife blades and used them until they can't be used any more.
I have about 5 utility knives of which I can only ever find 2 of at any given time. I swear the things grow legs.
My coworker showed me the magazine version, and my inner child was like...OOOooohhhh.... *giggle* *giggle* *snort*
I went to Lowe's, picked it up, and saw the scraper one right next to it and I knew whether or not it worked...I needed it.
Gadgets... (•̀ᴗ•́ )و
I haven't used the scraper very much, but the magazine one I've used several times at work and it's really useful. Sometimes I need to cut carpet and I'll just switch to the hooked version and people just stare ...👁👄👁. Honestly, it just adds more value to it for me.
I use that to scrape labels of lifts when I pm them.
Definitely buy the one furthest in the back.
Very cool utility knife i will admit, but with the way you were handling the blades kinda makes me wonder if they even sharp at all, im sure you know how to properly handle a blade but if others out there that have no idea do the same things you did, there would be an increase in hospital intake.
From years of working with my hands my fingers are like leather gloves 😜
I also love gadgets.
I use the paint can opener on mine as a bottle opener.
I'd like to see your future update after real world use. I haven't loved it so far.
We’ll see 🤷🏻♂️ I’m not gonna use it all the much so my experience might be better.
Idk I love my silver Stanley slide out. The one tool I feel doesn't ever need upgrades lol.
Definitely see the appeal of the others though, quick blade change.
Was going to buy except for the exclusive blades. I understand but ill keep my separate scraper. I would recommend this knife to most people at home
Cool!
I was wondering about wasting the blades also
I didn’t even think about that I the first video 🤦🏻♂️
I have the scraper...Pretty hard on it...The mechanism will get janky over time, kinda stops rotating. You godda fiddle with it to make it work properly half the time ...havent broken it yet tho, pry bar on the end is really strong tho
Lol congrats on the dopamine hits and having people in your life that you know!
I've considered getting one for scraping decals and gunk from windows. Please do a long term followup review regarding durability.
Picked up the DeWalt 8v driver and it has saved my wrists big time.
I love that little screw driver ❤️ 👍🏻
only downside to the toughbuilt scraper knife is the proprietary blades. but i use it exclusively in scraper mode so it works great.
Work production will grind to a halt when they figure out how to combine the cool mag fed semi-auto knife with the cool transformer knife lol
No loss. Keep the regular one in the house and the scraper version in the work van.
At least you can make more money with it than a fidget spinner, and just as fascinating.
Looks really cool. Curious how it holds up with junk getting inside. I'm just a DIYer and tend to get bits of drywall mud and thinset everywhere. I clean my tools but with something that has so many nooks and crannies I'd be a little wary. Is the metal all stainless steel?
I work at a big orange box and my location stopped carrying it because of the all the returns. Not only from the quantity of returns but from how long it takes before it breaks. ( Get enough returns in less than a day of purchase doesn't make your product look good. ) It seems if you are the rough type of person, it's probably not for you. Strangely the other one is still in stock. I don't know why TB went cheap with this thing.
It is metal but definitely not stainless.
Maybe you could get fireball tool to lend you a scraper from his collection to try out yeah!??
I want one just for the reloading lol yes im a kid too
a question about the first one, have you needed to cut anything with a straight edge with that knife yet? i cut a lot of plaster board, but i usually use my long spirit level which is about 25mm/ 1 inch thick and it can lead to not so square cuts with a bulky housing/body for the knife to be held in. (but yes i want one of those knifes too because of the reload system lol)
It’s a little more than 3/8” for the side of the handle to the edge of the blade. If you’re straight edges thick, it might be a problem.
@@FunkFPV its a utility knife for most uses and the fun of reloading it but you still need a back up knife for tight spots? Lol
I like the finger index. Love the scraper feature!
It is pretty sick, though.!!!!
I wonder if they could do a magazine fed scraper
They probably could but it would be pretty big
I’m calling OSHA! That’s not a spring loaded blade! LMAO!
Cooooooooooool
It's there for a reason and they don't mind that it lets them bilk you outta more money for em
SOLD!
There ya go 👍
It looks like a knife styled glock reload style
looks good bet it works fine, sad im left handed
I’m a lefty too. The struggle is real 😞
I see the Klein tool next to you. I didn’t know you were also an electrician, are you also afraid of brooms? 😂
Future video 😜👍🏻
Another great review. How can I buy you a beer?
Move to Pennsylvania 😊
How many spare blades does the handle hold and are they easy to get to? Another video said the blade doesnt lock in the closed postion
The scraper one doesn’t store any blades and handle. I’ll have to check if it locks in the clothes position?
I bet someone gonna make press to punch hole in standard blade to fit it xD (and then realize it was useless as most of blades will break in half if you try that...) 😂
Hey review the canadian death pod program as a fellow beaver fluffer I'd appreciate some input eh?
Funk is the fucking best. That’s it. That’s all I gotta say…
Thanks 😊
Does it have an area to store the extra blades inside of it at all?
This one doesn’t
I bought the scraper one and love it, but somehow I lost it somewhere.
Or someone found and didn’t tell you 😊
is it just an optical illusion from the camera that makes it look bulky?
It is a little beefy compared to standard utility knives.
Not so sure those would be legal in CO, CA, NY, MA, OR, WA, IL due to mag limits. Just sayin'... :))
I want both now.
Haha it only holds 5 and one in the chamber 😜
I saw a review of this a while ago and had zero interest because of the proprietary blades - Inassumed they would be massively overpriced, like $9 for 5 blades. But $7 for 30? Yeah, ok, I could see that.
It’s actually $7.99 but close enough. You can get generic blades for a lot cheaper, but from my experience, those blades kind of stink.
@@FunkFPV What?? $7.99?? I thought it was $7. Nope. I'm out, too rich for my blood. 😂
Is that a grinder full of reefer sitting on the desk?
No… I keep the in the drawer 😎
That thing is actually for charging charging my camera batteries.
@@FunkFPV I was looking at it on my cell phone 😁 It looked very familiar.
It's the forbidden pez dispenser
LoL 😝 😊
My Stanley blades did not work correctly with knife.
When will we ever learn to not play with knives?
Well everything is alright until something goes wrong....
