WOW Jeff. HUGE swarm of bees. HUGE. That had to be all of 5 or 6 pounds. Nicely executed capture. Once she starts laying again, you'll have to split that colony. Probably 2 or 3 splits. Dandy of a catch.... Trophy grade. 🏆🏆🏆✌️
What appears as chaos to many, I just see a hive of bees looking to get things straightened out, and I'm just helping them along. Keep on watching, I really appreciate you doing that. God's peace Jackie. Mr. Ed
Clap clap clap...gave you a hand....lmbo That hive will need an immediate super stack. Looks more like an absconded hive.....thats like 15000-20000 bees
Jeffrey Tipton xDefinitely agree...be interesting to see if they stay in the have after transfer...absconding colonies won't stay put...the queens are terribly out of balance and are normally on a suicide mission...likely high mite loads and lots of workers carrying mites...course the original swarm trap was only a 5 frame nuc box which makes it seem bigger than normal...but fascinating to be sure!!!!
I don’t know Jack, or Ed, about bees but I absolutely love this site and look forward to each new video. Our Lord has provided us with much. It’s up to us to be the proper custodian regardless of the amount. Keep up the great work.

I've been watching several of these videos and it is very interesting. But without sounding to stupid cause I know some people like to bash a person Reguardless. I have a simple question...what is the sugar water for, what does it do? I'm 50 yrs old now, but back when I was 15 I worked weekends for a guy doing small jobs. But he was a bee keeper and he was teaching me many things about bees before he passed away. I Helped him gather sworms plus even helped him extract honey using one of those pots ya slide the combs down in and using a handle, swirl it real fast so the honey flings out. My gosh it was good stuff. One time he put some honey on my hand and said hold still. Within a few minutes, bees started landing on me. Before to long my entire hand and forearm was covered. Freaked me out, but it was a neat experience. Bees are remarkable creatures to say the least.
I use the sugar water to calm and distract the bees. They busy themselves cleaning the sugar off each other and that enables me to go about moving the bees and not having them angry. Good question. Thanks for asking and watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
This was the largest swarm I caught last year, and it was a lot of fun transferring them into a larger box. It's always going to be a good time when the Rooster and I get together. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Hi Mr. Ed. I had a swarm just like this one enter one of my traps. I was extremely content. It was about 5:30PM. I left them in the trap and went early next morning to transfer them to my brood box, but sadly they all went away. Man, I was so bummed out. Maybe I should have transfered right away. Anyways, keep teaching the old Rooster how the true wrangling is done. God bless both of you.

Those bees made a nice Top Hat. Reminds me of Tom & Jerry cartoons where Tom would pull a beehive off of his head only for the bees to make a bunch of fashion statements before Tom knew what he was in for. Ah, good times.
Thank you so much for your blessing, they are best perks I receive for posting these videos. I was truly blessed to have captured this swarm and to capture it on video. thanks for watching. God's peace Shawna. Mr. Ed
To Jeff and DirtRooster, a simple divise I created to carry in your bee removals when you use a vac, it consists of 2 pieces small dia. hose, a plastic mayo jar lid with 2 holes the hose fits snuggly into and a suiable glass or heavy plastic jar the lid will screw onto, one is attach to vac's pre-suction side the other is used as a liquid honey suction wand, the honey collects in jar, makes nice unmessy comb removal, as you vac the bees, just remember this devise needs more suction than your bee vac wand so hook in before you vac reducer valve on your bee collection box so it gets full suction. Hope try it and find what cheap great tool it is.
Thanks, that was the biggest swarm I caught last year, and not to brag, but I did catch over 50 of them. If you check out my channel, you will find a half a dozen or more of the swarms I caught last year. Thanks for watching, and Ihope to hear fro you again soon. Caught one like that here the other day. A ten frame deep wasn't enough. Found it 50 feet away from my hives. Turned out to not be one of mine either. I couldn't believe it. Tried to get them in the ten frame, they drew comb for 2 days and the queen even started to lay eggs. Then went out this morning to the box being empty. A small small amount of bees that stayed with the very few eggs that were laid. Totally scratching my head at this one. I think the ten frame wasn't big enough for the queen I guess.
This was the biggest swarm I caught all year, what luck. Make sure you pass along to all the bees in Butte County they are ALL welcome in Mr. Ed's bee yard. God's peace Kerry. Mr. Ed

My swarm built a deep 10 frames supers worth Of comb in the boxbefore I could get them in hive boxes (11 days). I have enough bees to fill 3 deep 10 frame boxes crammed into two boxes. My local bee guy says it's maybe 100k or so. It looks like about half of what you have there. Great vid.
I think you should feed the bee with syrup after taking the honey. Syrup is much similar to honey and it would keep the bee healthier 🤔. The bee work very hard to store those honey, and you've just stolen from them. That is not good enough.

Since I'm so far ahead of the Rooster in the count, you will not see me throwing in the towel. I'm looking forward to my Taco Bell victory dinner come September. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Jeff Horchoff looking forward to that Taco video!! Take care and bless you and your family!
I love when you get them by the handfuls!!! It would be amazing to feel what that felt like!!!!🐝🐝🐝🐝
The heat that the bees generate can be felt even through the gloves. God's peace Theresa.
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff really!! Wow that would be so awesome to feel that!! Maybe sometime I'll swing through Louisiana on one of my travels (my sister lives in Pearl Mississippi) and hit you up. Might get lucky enough for you to be doing a cutout or catching a swarm!!! I'd also love to check out the Abby!!
@@theresavandever1387 Before your visit, get in touch with me to make sure I will be at the abbey, but I'd bee happy to give you and your sister a tour of our honey operation. Looking forward to the day. God's peace Theresa.
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff I'll be sure to do that! I'd never drop by without talking to you first. It would be such a pleasure to meet you and all your bee friends. Until then God Bless Mr Ed!!
WOW Jeff. HUGE swarm of bees. HUGE. That had to be all of 5 or 6 pounds. Nicely executed capture. Once she starts laying again, you'll have to split that colony. Probably 2 or 3 splits. Dandy of a catch.... Trophy grade. 🏆🏆🏆✌️
This may have been the biggest swarm I have ever caught. My hope is to get honey from these girls by October, so, no splits. God's peace Tim.
Mr. Ed
Still one of the best bee keeper/ wranglers on the UA-cam channel!
You are to kind Joe, but there are lots of great bee wranglers on UA-cam. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
From this video, I witnessed you bring order and balance into chaos. That is a gift! Grateful to witness too. Amen!
What appears as chaos to many, I just see a hive of bees looking to get things straightened out, and I'm just helping them along. Keep on watching, I really appreciate you doing that. God's peace Jackie.
Mr. Ed
Thank you Jeff.
That swarm looks a lot better in a box than 80 feet up a tree, would you agree? God's peace.
Mr. Ed
There are so many bees that they sound like a big giant roar
Nothing like the sound of bees ringing in your ear, that's when you can tell you are a bee wrangler for sure. God's peace Zoe.
Mr. Ed
Clap clap clap...gave you a hand....lmbo
That hive will need an immediate super stack.
BeeFriendlyApiary exactly..had same problem...but put a caged queen from my stock and crushed their queen....that hive is still growing strong.
He lost them. Check out the description. I've suggested only Randy is tall enough to help now. LOL
I added a deep super to it this afternoon, and I am moving the hive next week. Thanks for watching. God's peace Jeffrey.
Mr. Ed
I’m enjoying many of your back videos. Binge watching.
I don’t know Jack, or Ed, about bees but I absolutely love this site and look forward to each new video. Our Lord has provided us with much. It’s up to us to be the proper custodian regardless of the amount. Keep up the great work.
Happy to hear you are liking the channel, and bee wrangling is about all you will see here. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Watched a few of your videos today and it’s so cool to see the bees up close
Thank you so much for checking out my bee wrangling adventures. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. God's peace.

LOL Yes I do agree. God's peace to you too Jeff.
Thank you for your blessing and for agreeing. This bee wrangling is some interesting stuff. God's peace.

Hi Jeff nice to see you still working hard as usual . I've had a few weeks break from you tube but I will be doing a marathon catch up with everyone's channel I subscribe to so I thought I would start with my favourite man of the moment . X
Top comment of the night, a real compliment. Make sure you have lots of comfort food while you binge, you have to keep your strength up. Great to hear from you Dawn. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Watching you gently put the bees in the box was so satisfying and cool, nice video Mister Ed!
I treat the bees the way I'd like to be treated, and pays off because they don't sting me as much. Thank you for your kind words and for watching. I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
I just commented on another video of yours about there being a lot of bees. Yeah... scratch that. THIS is a lot of bees! Lol
I agree, this swarm had over 25,000 bee in it, that's a LOT of bees. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
I liked how you showed how to get that done....so cool
That was the largest swarm I caught last year, and it was a blast handling so many bees. I'm glad you liked the video, and left a comment letting me know. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff Well thank you as well. As a (now) city slicker I live my country life vicariously through your videos haha

Oh wow! All thoes bees!! 😄 😃 you are gonna need a few boxes!!
This was the largest swarm I caught last year, it required another deep super 2 days later. Also, the great news is these bees are doing great, and I look forward to splitting them in the Spring. Thanks for watching, and in case you were not aware, I post a new video every Friday. I hope you will check them out. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Just an hour ago, I did a similar removal, same technique.. Your videos have taught me so much.
Happy to pass along the tricks of the trade, keep on wrangling brother. Stay safe, God's peace.
Mr. Ed
I love it. I’d like to see the mother hive. God bless the bees and you too.
Thank you for your blessing Mike. I wonder about the mother hive myself, that thing had to bee massive. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff
Ok. That makes sense.
Thank you for responding. I appreciate it.

Nice catch and running into your buddy at the end was a good end to the day as well.
This was the largest swarm I caught last year, and it was a lot of fun transferring them into a larger box. It's always going to be a good time when the Rooster and I get together. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Jeff Horchoff Bees No problem, thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
Hi Mr.
You are the one of the best things on UA-cam, God's work! Good job Mr. Ed
My goodness! I've been binge-watching your channel, and I didnt st this one. That's a a beauty!
I'm happy you went back to catch it. That was the biggest swarm I caught this year. God's peace brother.

That swarm looks like a floppy billed stovepipe hat from the front view.
Yes it does, time to clean it out. This was the largest swarm I caught last year, and the bees are doing great. God's peace Sean.

Those bees made a nice Top Hat. Reminds me of Tom & Jerry cartoons where Tom would pull a beehive off of his head only for the bees to make a bunch of fashion statements before Tom knew what he was in for. Ah, good times.
It does look like a top hat with all those bees. Hadn't thought of that one. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

Wow that big swarm Mr. Ed that were plan for Dirtrooster to be there with you lol😄😇😇
No plan, the Rooster had to see for himself how I was catching all these swarms. God's peace Sallie.

Good grief, whichever scout took the measurements of your trap back to the hive needs to be schooled on how to use a ruler.
Especially since there were 2 10 frame traps within 8 feet of this trap. Just proves that bees will always be unpredictable. Thanks for watching. God's peace Marty.
Mr. Ed
I'll bet that was a multi-swarm. Have you ever gone through one and seen if there was more than one queen? There is a vid of 8 queens in one swarm and another with 4...

dirt must have been stopping for bacon or a buffet. He is so far being he is wandering lost in the area in search of phantom swarms. There are plenty to be had and shared; also, glad you two have fun poking at each other. God is Great!

Mr Ed! What's the reason for spraying them with sugar water and not just clean water? Thanks for great videos!

In all honesty, we are both happy for each others successes, but we can't make that public, it would ruin the fun. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
Holy Crow! Amazing! Good job, Jeff. God’s blessings.

Jeff Horchoff that was so big you could split it in two

My swarm built a deep 10 frames supers worth Of comb in the boxbefore I could get them in hive boxes (11 days). I have enough bees to fill 3 deep 10 frame boxes crammed into two boxes. My local bee guy says it's maybe 100k or so. It looks like about half of what you have there. Great vid.
Great story, thanks for sharing it and for watching my bee wrangling adventures. God's peace.

I think you should feed the bee with syrup after taking the honey. Syrup is much similar to honey and it would keep the bee healthier 🤔. The bee work very hard to store those honey, and you've just stolen from them. That is not good enough.
I love how they cluster together like that & move easily 💯
