      It thins my hair soooooo bad too. My hair wants to be out and free…yea it’s an aesthetics change but it’s necessary. I mastered a rollerset last year and finally 6 months later my healthy hair is giving WIG.

    Let’s talk about it, I still wear wigs but I no longer want to be in the hair industry anymore it no longer serves me and it’s no longer who I am, so I hear you my girl, I love you 💕
    I know we worry about our finances but we must trust God through the process, when I walked away from UA-cam and being a content creator I trusted God and truly my life has transformed, the money isn’t so quick but I lack NOTHING! I’ll continue to trust in my Heavenly Father. If you seek him and trust him if he brought you to it he will carry you through it. Put trust in God not the outcome🙏🏾

      @@adellekonrad7375 There are a lot of things thats a health risk. I'm not down playing what you're saying , but respectfully this is not the topic . The topic is why Queen , Tierra, ( Our girl ) isn't wearing wigs. My comment was meant for anyone that would like to continue to wear a wig or anything else without feeling ridiculed . Perms for caucasians and hair dyes's can be a health risk as well.
      By the way , a microwave oven has health risk. Before, you mentioned it, I know these things I just mentioned aren't the subject at hand either. Therefore you may get my gist. I don't why, in the community that primarily consist of people of color always seems to tear one another down. I'm not saying you are. It's a thought behind this subject matter. Hair, hair, hair, hair . Oh gosh! Why is this more important than making the best out of life, building friendships and going through this world trying to make the best of our situations ? Girl!! I’m 30 too! And sameeee I was getting sew ins since I was literally 14…and my poor hair SOMEHOW is not broken irreperably and just recently started applying hair grease bc ALLL of my thousands of dollars worth of white/natural hair care products never actually healed my hair! I never had anyone to teach me bc I grew up with all my white side of the family!!! But praise the Lord my hair is growing back with the sew in! Thank God!! But God defffff started to convict me being born again like….yes the woman’s hair is her glory….and how am I just continuing to have this hundreds of dollars worth of sew ins what for the rest of my life?? I think not!!!!! Idk why my hair loves dax lanolin and when my hair was past shoulders and gorgeous when I was like 12 was when my mom was always greasing my scalp!!! Why did I stop 😭 but yay excited to grow and evolve! Good for you for standing on that! I could never do wigs bc I just felt TOO fake

    I had a pretty short wig phase, but there was one, lol. I started with u-parts when the girls like Adrianna and Ivy were big into them and when the girls first started buying hair on the internet vs. the beauty supply store. Then, when they started making wigs, I started, lol. I was also at the time starting a hair journey, so I definitely wore them for like 2, maybe 3 years. Gluing them down wasn't even a thing, so that's how long ago it was. Besides braids, I've always enjoyed wearing my own hair, so my phase was fun, but it was short-lived. 💜

    I'm a firm believer in a healthy balance. However, if we find ourselves wearing anything whether makeup, extensions, and continue to mask behind something that isn't ours then that's where we have to look deeper if it's an insecurity or the fear of being treated differently if we don't keep the add-ons. If one decides to keep the add-ons is it to enhance or is it taking away from ones true self. For example, if my hair is kinky texture I'm more than likely to purchase yaki hair and put in marly twists. Whereas, wearing 1b hair texture and straying away from my own true self and identity.

    • @TheRealHairTalk
      @TheRealHairTalk 6 днів тому +1

      @je39981, I think if you installed straight hair, its because thats what you wanted. Hair can also be an accessory . It doesn't always mean you are " Straying away from your true self." You may have wanted straight hair for a special occasion or you were just in the mood for a change without changing your bio hair. When Caucasian's grow locs are they straying away from their true identity or do you think they just wanted locs? It's ok , to do whatever you choose . Theres no right or wrong . Our hair is not who we are inside . It's an adornment , it protects the cortex and the medulla . My old beauty salon days as a licensed hair care professional . I remembered this as if it was yesterday . It's been several decades since I was a hair stylist and I still remember It's just hair . Wear it however you like. 🙏

    I had a very large cyst on the back of my head. My hair wouldnt grow there and it was totally visible. I resorted to wearing wigs. And I was thankful but felt trapped. And I was always so scared for my edges. I had surgery to remove it in September of last year. Three months later I locked up my hair. I am so happy, blessed, and thankful. I cannot fully express how free I am/feel. I only ever want my own hair.

    💯 I agree with what you’ve said. This may sound dramatic, but it truly breaks my heart when I hear our women comment things like, “Y’all know I need my wigs, extensions, braids, whatever because I don’t how I look with my natural hair.” It’s like they’ve lost their identity because of hair and the vanity in which it provides. That’s just like these dang filters that folks rely on. There’s research that shows constant use of those are not good for mental health. It’s great to witness your growth, watch you pivot, and be obedient to God💜
