The reason the reason Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark have gone extinct is because they saw that people and Pokémon were coming together and not hating each other, so they were able to let go and move on.
Hisuian Typlosion is actually more on shamans, which are called onmyoji. They are able to call and command spirits, hence the laid back design and ghost typing.
And this is why Zorua, Zoroark, both forms, have been my favorites. I loved Unovan immediately. But when it got Hisui form, also getting my favorite typing Ghost, I adore it even more. To the point I hav both forms tattooed.
Hisuian Braviary was the main predator of Sneasel, and figured they had to migrate after they picked of the last of the Hisuian Sneasel and Sneaseler as psychic flying would thrive against the poison fighting typed variant, but would become prey to Johto Sneasel and Weavile as the tables would flip with the dark ice ones and they'd become the prey so they probably used their psychic powers to find new lands to call home.
What would be cool is if the Hisuian forms would be able to stay and "evolve" thanks to the time space paradox allowing the Johtoan forms to be around them to keep them from being preyed to extinction.
Weavile are noted to be extremely efficient pack hunters while Sneasler is a solitary creature. With Hisui slowly becoming colder and Sneasler not being adapted to that it’s no wonder they got outmatched by their southern subspecies.
My personal theory about Hisuian Sneasel is that the Johtonian variant actually drove it to extinction. Having migrated up north to expand and find territory, they’d end up completely overtaking the Hisuian variant. Due to their solitary nature, Hisuian Sneasel would be out competed for food and would be unable to defend itself in a fight with them despite the type advantage thanks to Johtonian Sneasel’s pack hunting style. Of course, natural selection would still play a role as you mentioned. Highly enjoyed the video, the visuals and explanations were great!
It's interesting when you take account that Johtonian Sneasel is 4x weak to Fighting-type, which the Hisuian form is. Even with a major type disadvantage, the Johto form still had numbers, adaptation to environment and the night on its side, enough to take the population over.
We need more legends game of the other regions. Legends: mew, legends:celebi, there are many ways they can go about this. And alot of the mechanics were honestly great additions.
Basculin is interesting. It evolved to become more aggressive and adaptable to harsher environments overtime, so more of its kind survived. Because of this, fewer died prematurely and there weren't enough souls required to turn on of its members into a Basculegion. The base form has become strong enough to forgo evolution altogether.
And yet it still sucks prior to it having an evolution. I do wish we had a different form of Basculin's evolution in Unova. One where it feeds life rather than it's H-form.
I really enjoyed watching this video. Good job! For Hisuian Voltorb & Hisuian Electrode, one idea that I've come to believe is that they are the originally variant. Like Foongus & Amoonguss, they are mimics based around plants or fungus. They mimic the appearance of Apricorns. The treatment these Pokémon received from humans combined with the decline of Apricorn balls(as well as Apricorn trees/plants) and the rise of artificial Poké Balls caused Voltorb & Electrode to adapt from its Electric/Grass-type Hisuian variant into the pure, Electric-type Kantonian variant we've come to know since Red/Blue/Green/Yellow. As far as Hisuian Zorua & Hisuian Zoroark go, they either moved on after humanity began to live alongside Pokémon in a less hostile existence, leading to these regional variants to no longer exist since they have found rest, or continue to use their illusion-based powers to conceal their existence from the rest of the world. It would be cool to find the Hisuian variants of Zorua & Zoroark in the present day somewhere, rather than only existing in the days of old.
That was a great explanation of the Hisui regionals + adding the music from InuYasha and Breath of the Wild or Tears made it better. Give yourself a pat on the back
Your song selection was immaculate, the editing was crazy, the storytelling was fasinating, your tone of voice grabs my attention easily, the research you put into each Pokemon is far beyond admirable and the way you put everything together was flawless. I don't say this often, but what you've made here is a masterpiece.
Thanks to the teal mask dlc we now know that hisuian pokemon are not extinct, just very rare to find. Populations of white stripe basculin live in katakami as do basculegion. Perrin was shown to have a hisuian growlithe and ursalunas are just said to be really rare.
Fantastic video man. Not going to lie tho, as a 30-something year old who still loves anime and Pokémon, when I saw the Inuyasha clips for the decidueye section I popped up and got very excited for part of my childhood being revisited
Fantastic and well researched video. I'll just throw this out but H-Voltorb and Electrode also remind me of traditional Japanese lacquerware, with that glossy red coating on the wooden body. The lacquer is made from tree sap, adding more to its grass typing.
Idk why your audio is so loud but I like it. I always have to turn my volume up between 30-40 to hear anything but for your videos, I set the volume to 10 and you're crystal clear.
ive always prefered alot of the hisuin versions of the pokemon, their designs at least because for me i just prefer the more rounded and elegant designs over the more sharp, in your face type designs the other regions tend to have. of course i love the modernistic classic versions as well because its what we all started with all grew to love and story wise, it tells us their evolution train and what most likely happened with that specific family tree of pokemon or the species as a whole. its also nice to know that one day in pokemon their may actually be a possibility they have in mind, down the line in which, they are going to allow us as the player in the game to eventually breed or make some or all other versions of those pokemon if we put it in specific habitats and give it specific conditions in which we can end up making it work. like with that usulana or whatever the name is for that pokemon, if there happens to eventually be a game with a specific easter egg that comes out or in the new anime, it hints at this being something possible, it would be a nice addition along with the classic versions. it plays just like getting the fossil pokemon which are unique pokemon born way before the modern day era however this time your able to get it to meet specific conditions and requirements for such a fossilised thing to exsist and thrive once more.
Hisuin decidueye is based on the horse back riding samurai who primarily wielded a bow and katana. and hisuin decidueye can still learn its signature arrow attack that it shares with its Alolan counterpart, so basically Hisuin decidueye uses both sword and arrow wich was common amongst samurai, especially the japanese Calvary. Hisuin Typhlosian is yes a volcano but its actually based on the Monk who fights ghosts wirh Talismans thus the ghost typing. Be it a buddist monk or a shinto monk. And Samurott is based on the foot soldier Samurai .
A crazy detail about the hisuian zorua, this guy calls it the spitting image of a demon, hisuian zorua and zoroark have yellow eyes which is usually demonic
according to matpat hisuian voltorb/electrode were extinct because in the gen 4 games there are no apricorns nearby while hisui had lots so humans hunted them down
Imo the fact you find spoiled apricorns near the hisuian voltorb and electrode tells me it's actually a electric creature that utilizes spherical objects that have become hollowed out. Originally they used natural apricorns thus the grass typing on them however when humanity moved to modern pokeballs apricorn trees became less populous most likely due to encroachment into natural habitats so they moved on to defective pokeballs but since they are man made they lose the grass type.
What's pokemons explanation to hisuian pokemon, on how you can get them in modern times? Do they act like fossil pokemon in modern time (SV+)games? Do they just appear in these titles without a real explanation to why u can obtain them. I doubt they're in the overworked surely?

As they are literally ghosts of the unova versions
The design is also very ghostly it must be said with red and white colours
Yea that makes sense complete sense, they moved on with their issues with humans, cool
@@Nightwalker065 not really, without the effects of mount Coronet. They moved to other habitats which will effect their later generation
Zorua are not from the hisuian region they hitch hiked to it.@@mangosage7288

What you described is natural selection xD
Legends: Arceus was such a genius addition. They deserve all the credit for this
We need more legends game of the other regions. Legends: mew, legends:celebi, there are many ways they can go about this. And alot of the mechanics were honestly great additions.
The game play was so ass though. I really hope they figure out something better than mass catching and incorporate more battles.

Super awesome video!! Loved the samurott part !!
Love the breakdown of each Pokémon, really interesting and well done!
Wait till bro sees that one typhlosion 🙏
Thyplosion is a shogun?!? I just don’t see it there isn’t anything regal or boss like about it inherently lol it just looks like an angry mole
Yea, he's dead now
When the Yu Yu Hakusho music came on my ears perked up. Great video!
My boy aint beatin the allegations
Nobody's talking about how hisuian samurott is based on Miyamoto Musashi
Your editing was super impressive! Especially the graphic puppeting of the official Pokemon art

If it weren’t for white striped Basculin being such wimps, we might still have Basculegion today…
the quality of these vids just keep going up im seriously impressed
Truly a great video and GREAT game. I seriously NEED more Legends.
your analysis is GREAT. just caught a follow from me! love how in depth you went
I like how they turned this fire hedghog beast into a more scarier layed down type of beast
For sure I just don’t understand the shogun comparison
This channel is a hidden gem
I love your choice to use the death note theme in your video 4:48
4:01 I see you with the Yu Yu Hakusho ost
Hisuian Samurott is one of the saddest Hisuian Pokemon ngl.
Hisuian pokemon are confirmed to still be kickint but migrated to other regions, scarlet and violet later confirmed they are alive
