If you have the same model year laptop, then it'll be the same. Battery model number isn't important. Laptop model and year is.
Thanks to this video I was able to replace the batteries. It was much easier than it seemed looking at other videos. This video show exactly what needs to be done and how to do it. I also used your other video to remove the logic board. Thanks!
Awesome! Glad they helped. :)
I successfully changed my computer’s battery (after some internal damage) thanks to you! Just in time before the next college semester, hahaha thanks mate 👍
Awesome
Hi! Where did you buy your battery? Does it works as original?
@@AlexCarrillo usually Amazon amzn.to/3nIZlSA
Really good video. I followed the steps and have successfully changed my father in law's mac battery. He's happy as uses it for work and I've learnt a new skill. One word of warning, I used an opening tool with a slight pointed end and, without knowing, cut into the battery packaging whilst trying to get the glue seal off. It smelled chemical and the battery started to heat up. Its outside now pending further investigation
Glad it helped. You'll want to take the battery to an ewaste place. Throwing it in the trash could cause a fire. As an alternative you could smash it up until it burns up completely. Lol jk Don't do that.
Macs are a huge PIA to work on, but your video really simplified the work. Thank you!!!

To remove the battery adhesive safely i used a old credit card. I found this to work well and not damage my macbook

Used a small spatula. I punctured the battery during the removal process.
@@buggyman286 oh no, hopefully didn't start a fire.
FYI… that tool is a frosting spatula. With a slightly wider spatula I was able to very carefully remove the batteries without removing the trackpad. Huge time saver. Great vid!!!

Very helpful...thanks! I used isopropyl alcohol to weaken the adhesive before using a thin plastic card to break adhesive seal though--it worked pretty fast. Also, I placed foil over screen to protect it...no issues. This saved me $$$ replacing my daughter's battery! Got a battery for $60 and already had the tools...I was quoted $300.

Use the old flex cable. The one that comes with the battery is usually bad. Also, make sure the latch is up.

Thanks very much. Your video helped tremendously. Better than the instructions that came with the battery. One issue though. Your video says remove track pad first, but I could see how. After replacing the battery my track pad didn't work. I then opened the back up again disconnected and reconnected the track pad cable and it works better, but as soon as I touch the track pad with my fingers it double clicks all the time. Any suggestions?
You likely damaged the trackpad and will need to replace it. Check the cable connection to the battery first.
Thanks alot for this video. Do you know if the cycle count resets if you DIY replace your battery? Or does the cycle count only reset if you get the battery replaced at the apple store?
It will reset

Hey! Great video! I followed directions to the T! But I’m getting a problem. It’s either not seeing the battery or there’s another problem. I’ve tried two different batteries and am still getting this issue. When I plug it in it boots… but doesn’t show it’s charging… battery doesn’t seem to be existent…. I when I pull the blue the laptop dies… any ideas? Suggestions?
Likely the ribbon cable isn't being reinstalled properly.
I like how Apple went through all this trouble to make replacing something like a battery turn into a living nightmare. I get that they're demotivating customers from repairing their own devices, but this is just ridiculous lmao.
Yeah...
Exactly! So much for the days of moving a slider and the battery pops out. New PCs are fairly easy. Although you usually have take out a lot of screws and the top or bottom cover. At least I haven't found any PCs with adhesive under their batteries. They always use 2 to 5 screws.

How do you put the super tiny screws back? I find that it keep flipping to the side on the “screwdriver” tip. Thanks!
Magnetized the screwdriver tip by rubbing it on a strong magnet.
can you show a video of putting back the left end of the black ribbon on(starting around 2:40)? My ribbon has a metal piece on the left end. I think I'd need to stick it on top of the screw on the left end. But there's no way to stick it. Do I need to use some glue? Right now, my new battery still cannot be detected on my mac.
Thanks!
Just do it in reverse. Latch up, put it on, latch down. I don't know what you mean by metal. You don't use glue. It has a slot with a latch.
Awesome video! Any idea why the trackpad haptic feedback has stopped working on a 2017 nonTB model? Battery needs service. Maybe battery is swelling and touching the trackpad? Force touch working fine, just haptic feedback stopped suddenly. Thanks!
PS. Tried different resets, nothing worked.

What kind of brand for the battery do you think works best for this kind of battery replacement on amazon?

Is the trackpad also not working? To might have damaged the trackpad, not connected it properly, or damaged the keyboard cable.

@MarcCamaligan different, but Apple disables the keyboard if the trackpad is faulty.

Very informative video. I wish you could have taken out the battery and showed where the vents (?) are in middle section
that lead to the trackpad, I loosened up the battery in the middle and was very careful yet scraped up the cable and clip for the trackpad ( cable fitting that’s part of the trackpad motherboard - ? Is that the right term ?). I had to order another trackpad and cable and install that before I could use the computer.
Was there any way to unscrew the supports for the trackpad and take it out and unclip it? It might seem unnecessary but for me it could have saved me some extra $ doing this project. Not to complain, I just hope someone else will not do the same thing
I have other videos showing that.

How how did you get the ribbon cable reconnected, that appears to be the hardest part of replacing the battery but you don't show that... the cable is very small and I can't get it to insert into the sockets to clamp it back down.... thanks
Lift the latch, line it up, and slide it in. There's no resistance. Then latch it back down on top. It's the same as the ribbon cables on every other laptop video I've made.
@@ItsBinhRepaired Hi! I unfortunately broke off the latch on the right side. Talking about the latch you show at 4.10 in this video ua-cam.com/video/pNoBwTozeSs/v-deo.html) Does that have any inpact on the functions? The latch was so tiny and its seems unnecessary to me..(I can't get the computer working after the replacement - its completely dead) )
@@danielpalmgren7720 without that latch, the battery isn't engaged.
Can the MacBook Pro be used without battery connected, but just charged? I tried but I’m getting flashing folder icon upon booting
The question mark means the SSD doesn't have an OS or is defective or not detected.
How many hours of battery you get after this replacement? how it went with the perfomance of the battery?

Get another replacement, but if you broke the plastic tab, it won't be repairable with a replacement battery.
@@ItsBinhRepaired So in the end I managed to open it up and check all the cables. I *think* the large one (not the broken tab one) was a bit loose. Plugged that it and left the back of to test and it worked.

If they break you might be able to still shimmy the cable in and tape it. b) *do not put the case back on until you have tested things!* and even keep testing as you snap the case back on because things can become dislodged (unplug each time).

A few days back my MacBook pro model A1706 started to face problems like for the first time when I plugged the USB C port in, it took a few seconds to show that its charging. After a couple of days the same thing happened and it took more than 10-15 minutes. Later it took hours to show and the beep sound which signifies that it's charging. Two days earlier the battery got completely drained out and then ITS NOT CHARGING at all.
This unit is fully fresh although its older. Everything was still functional except for long time use screen gets grey-ish which is pretty much common in MacBook pro I guess. Also my charger is working fine as whenever I touch the surface of the laptop I can feel a little shock sensation. And now I am so worried what should I do.
