  • The Cold Steel True Flight Thrower is a throwing knife that also doubles as a cutting tool because it has an actual sharpened edge. You know I think that is cool, so let's test this one. Oh, I bought this knife on:

    I’ve been using this knife for over fifteen years. It’s not only my favorite thrower, but one of the best, TOUGHEST field knives I’ve ever owned. Obviously, I stripped the bevel and replaced the cord wrap with hard Ash scales and brass pins.
    Great knife, great thrower, and probably one of the best priced fixed blades on ANY market.

    Looks like a fun inexpensive knife for throwing,, back in my throwing days my favorite knife with an edge for throwing was & still is the Glock field knife works great the spring steel i think is perfect for throwing & it sticks deep & the handle takes a beating....Cold steel make some great knives Thanks for showing this one..👍

      @@babyreps365 I like the Tanto better. Probably, because I have more experience with it. I haven't thrown the bushman yet

    I have 3 of these. They’re really fun to throw using half spin and no spin techniques.

    Pretty cool unit there. I personally like AceJet throwing knives. The apache & excalibur models specifically. Though they are a bit pricey b/c they are thick high grade spring steel. Dont have much of an edge to em, some but not much.

    Longer throwing knives are fun to throw. You can really see how it's spinning if you fancy full rotation throw. I'd loose the paracord if it was me. Liking your videos.

    i bet if this knife was given a good sharpening it would excell at almost every task - looks tough - great shape - i think a nice handle and your good to go - at this price its worth the experimentation - how tough is the steel - must be tough to survive throwing

    Lol i just broken my Puma Big Cat 10 a couple of days ago.
    I could draw and throw that thing from the hip and drill dead center 9 times outta 10. It WAS the perfect throwing knife in my opinion.
    Considering it was the thinkness of a literal prybar, i never thought it would snap as it did.
    Rated and tested for 10,684,981 throws only..... lol

      The thicker a blade is, the less lateral flexibility it has and the heavier it becomes. Thiner blades, are way more difficult to break, than thick ones.Also the thiner blade, has more spring, which means it can absorb hits better.
      PS I don't mean, that throwing knives have to be thin. It's just a fact, that the thicker it becomes, the higher the chances to break or chip/roll etc

    • @dick_richards
      @dick_richards 2 роки тому

      @@greekveteran2715 Interesting, thank u, Sir.
      Yeah i really like the Crkt Clever Girl, and the Spyderco Jumpmaster 2 for the thinness of their blade.
      I'm inclined to agree with you, Sir.

    • @dick_richards
      @dick_richards 2 роки тому

      @@greekveteran2715 I like the thinness of the Spyderco Schempp Rock and Also the thin blade on my Cold Steel Thompson Voyager (I did a very comprehensive study of what the best stabbing knife on the market is, and based upon one random youtubers stab test, where he stabbed many layers of linen with many different knives, the Voyager went through like butter while the double sided Tan Pan Dagger was stopped in it's tracks. And then there's the meat shearing test. I still hold firm on it's superiority.)
      But yeah going through my collection here, all my fav's are the thinnies.
      Plus my 2 antique Sheffield "frontiers" (idk) Knives are as thin as can be and I've also been using my Finlandia Fillet knife for steak, so yeah....
      You couldn't be more right.
      Oh yeah... and the Hold Out 3 shreds all comers too.
      Please also look into a Jumpmaster 2. It's my babe.

    With thick knives you need to put a little power into the throw, or nothing will stick. Put some backbone into it? Love this knife, thanks

    Maybe if it was in 1095 and spring steel heat treatment with the edge on the harder side, around 59-60 HRC.
    the price would be right
