This is surprisingly helpful for learning how to animate someone throwing a knife lol. Wanted to look at realistic resources and this definitely delivered.
Hang a cheap vinyl drop-cloth (or old, reclaimed shower curtain, etc.) behind your target. Don't tie the bottom; just add a little weight (like a few large pebbles or something) to keep it from flapping too much. Even if the blade hits tip-first, the cloth will billow and suck up the inertia, slowing your knife before it goes too far.
I found mine after... 3 days, I got to buy very strong magnet and It helped me alot. I learned that I always have to go pick up my knife after miss until I forget landing location ,never continue throwing if You don't clearly see your knife.
@@Gramolysy It took me many times of missing and losing my knives to figure out that I can do something about it. Reflective tape, bright colors, I also had put reflective cord on one and found that the whole rope-dart thing does not work for every knife. I thought I would also mention I just bought a heavy scribing awl for $4. I had assumed that if I learned the no-spin throwing method then, distance would not be a factor. So, with a full spin; you need to account that the knife makes a rotation for every arm span (from R finger tip to L finger tip). Now, my understanding is that; when you increase the distance from the target you need to modify how hard you throw as well as your grip. I hope I can get some feed-back about this . . .
I have been throwing for a few years now, I only found your videos at the beginning of this year. Ever since my throwing has gotten tremendously better! Really enjoyable video. Just want to say to those who may have just watched this out of curiosity about knife throwing, it's an excellent, low-impact, full-body excercise. I got into it when various health issues were limiting my ability to excercise. If you watch carefully, you'll see that he uses his entire body, so for middle-aged and older folks, it imiproves flexiility, balance, and obviously upper and lower body strength, without putting undo stress on aging joints. Couple of drawbacks I'll mention, just to be fair: you have to have access to a place to throw, and no, I wouldn't just reccomend you go to the local park and start murderring trees; that will get you in trouble. Unless you're willing to set up a special throwing wall indoors, and own your residence, it's not practical indoors. Full disclosure: I had to give it up when I had to move from a house to an apartment. I would encourage older folks (definetly women!) to give this a try if at all practical. Throwing knives aren't expensive, once you get the hang of it it's great fun, and I believe it works as sort of meditative excercise as well, since the less you 'think' and the more you just let your body do it, the more successful you'll be. Tip for beginners: focus on where you want the knife to go and keep your eyes on that spot during the throw; don't let your eyes wander. Long comment, but I hope someone in their middle years and beyond reads it and takes up this fun excercise. I've got pretty bad arthritis, but with a few compensations (shoulders are pretty bad, so have to modify my throw) I could still enjoy some fun in the sun and improve my health at the same time. Good throwing!

This is an excellent tutorial; entertaining and very well explained. I've been throwing knives on and off for many years, but even so I learned a great deal from this video. I mostly throw with a military half-spin (although I never knew what it was called until now), usually practicing from 6 feet out to 15 feet.
Thank You Adam, I've been throwing on and off for years, but I want to get better as You, it's a good feeling hitting the target and at Various distances. Sincerely, Richard

I live in a block of flats with nosey old lady neighbours and shared gardens so have been practising at night so nobody sees me stabbing the crap outta the tree lol! Lost a knife a couple of nights ago when I had a go at the “No Reload”, my daughter found it thismorning stuck in a different tree about 6ft away from the one I’ve been killing haha! Thanks for all the advice Adam, you’ve been a huge help. Great video, will keep an eye out for more, Cheers! 🍺
When they say "never bring a knife to a gunfight", that only applies to most people, If I had to go up against this deadly Russian with a gun at close to moderate range, I would run,
Adam is Czech ;) small country in central europe with 3 world champion: Adam Ondra (climbing) Adam Celadin (knife throw) and Jiri Prochazka (MMA UFC LHW)
This is a great instructional video. My daughter wants to learn how to throw knives and I have alway waned to also. So now we have some great techniques to get us started. Thanks
Hello my hero! I bought 2 sets of your Arrow style blades a month ago... and they are AMAZING! First time I have ever been able to No reload throw 6 knives at once (3 in Right 3 in Left hand)!! I can throw 1/2 and full spin, but mainly stick to no spin. I am trying to throw distances over 5 meters now, but having problems, any advice? (Instinctive style, finger on spine of blade) Thank you and I cannot wait for the show!!
I learned the forward flick myself, starting out. Grip between two fingers, flick forward. You want very little spin. Works well for bo shuriken as well, but I like Aces High Throwing Cards best. I'm not quite as good with the bigger stuff like the longer knives or hatchets.
Hey thanks for all Adam!! 2 month and half that i am training thanks of your videos! i am for the moment using simple kitchen-kniwes cause i don't want to buy some specials before having a good technique with them, and i throw them to cartons. The best technic with them for me is "military half-spin" like the russian guy on the video. I can aim the target at random distances easily but not so far, i think that maximum 5m with small one, and 7 with big one cause they are not equilibrated for throwing. Now, i try to be more precise on target, and it started well for my first day of training! So once again thanks you, aaaand, see you next time! ;)
this is great, but, how do you call these spikes, if i am to buy it i must know how to tell, i didnt understand you when you said it, please if you can write it
The no spin Ice pick grip is one I've always wanted to be able to do, you should include it in a video, there isn't any decent vids explaining it out there
See they did that in Octopussy, there was a couple of memorable minor villains in it with amazing knife skills working in a circus so unlikely they'd do it again. In fact it was the thought of those scenes that brought me here.
@@AdamCeladin You make it look so easy! Going to have to practice a ton and ill get good at it, it didn't go quite as planned lol. I'll have to watch more of your videos
You teach this VERY well. I have good throwing knives and will soon be putting your methods to good use. We have had some large oaks fall down (or be put down) on our property, so I have several thick LARGE diameter round-cuts leaning back against a huge stump for my target.
Great video! Love your teaching style. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Im pretty hooked on no spin throws as that's how I started learning. Curious if you ever do underhand throws also?
Bro your skills are uncanny ! Very impressive . As someone who has experience with throwing knives I know it took years of you perfecting your craft to get to this level. Yes ?
If someone is going to use a knife for self defense... They will have 2 .... Why not have an extra 3-10 for throwing? That's my view on it... It's about as legal as I can seem to get.
I am a fan of your channel! You are a far better knife thrower than I will ever be. I didn't see one of my favorites though. It is a military throw, half turn, thrown underhand from relatively close range. My stepfather showed it to me with a K Bar; he learned it from when he was in the Marines in WW2. As he explained to me a knife thrown overhand has a greater chance of being dodged or deflected because it is telegraphed. The underhand throw is quick and incredibly hard to dodge because it is aiming at your waist. That point will either enter at your groin, abdomen or on an over spin come right up into the targets diaphragm or throat. He was really quick and accurate with it, and I have practiced it a lot to try to get even remotely as good as he was. It can be thrown either from the handle or the blade, but for me to do a handle throw requires a full turn and preferably slightly longer distance. I would love to see someone with your skill set perfect that throw, because from a military or martial arts standpoint it is the most effective knife throw technique I have ever seen. You might even be able to no spin it, I never tried that.
I usually throw a drumstick but I sharpened the tip, it works perfect for no spin, I don't have throwing knife because my parents won't allow me to have 😅😅

See you soon
I do believe your video is one of the best easy video watch and learn not just one way to throw but multiple ways of throwing knives Thank you
No Spin Gang where u at
been using forks for practice lol. no spin gang
Right here dude
Gang gang 🤘🏽🔪
Bro, I use plastic spoons.
When he said: “🤙”
I really felt that! ✌️
Adam! You should throw knives to one dead tree until that tree cut down
This is a great instructional video.
Wow so cool Monica :) really hard to say if i dont see you, you can post a video on my facebook fan page or instagram :) Cheers
Thanks! Very useful video, I've bought my first throwing knife and your tutorial is so easy to understand, even if English isn't your first language
I learned the forward flick myself, starting out. Grip between two fingers, flick forward. You want very little spin. Works well for bo shuriken as well, but I like Aces High Throwing Cards best. I'm not quite as good with the bigger stuff like the longer knives or hatchets.
Cool, thanks
I think you started throwing knives right after you were born!!! Like chuck norris after he was born he drove himself home from the hospital.
So once again thanks you, aaaand, see you next time! ;)
Oh man, you're killing that tree!
This man is still responding to comments after 2 years. Legend
Thanks!
Wow THANK YOU my friend 🙏means a lot
@@AdamCeladin You are welcome Adam! : )
Thank you youtube algorithm for this was a very cool video

This guys the best. I've been practicing and almost got the no spin. The only thing is I need knives made by Adam .
Thank you my friend
this is great, but, how do you call these spikes, if i am to buy it i must know how to tell, i didnt understand you when you said it, please if you can write it
those are called Vengeance Throwing knives at Wulflund.com section sharp blades throwing knives :)
Like them all I was doing it from my youth, but still like watching you show how it is done !...
The no spin Ice pick grip is one I've always wanted to be able to do, you should include it in a video, there isn't any decent vids explaining it out there
I have to make video some day with Mikhael Balayev he can do that one best on the planet
I recently started throwing knives at a hobby. This video helped a lot. Thank you!
Hey A.C., why not figure out who's making the next James Bond movie, and see if they need a knife master bad-ass to play a role?
Hey C, That would be awesome for sure ,)) lets see what Destiny brings me ,))
See they did that in Octopussy, there was a couple of memorable minor villains in it with amazing knife skills working in a circus so unlikely they'd do it again. In fact it was the thought of those scenes that brought me here.
Oddjob had his throwing hat
I'll take Adam as my battle buddy!!!
So glad he is looking as dope as he did before... he's basicaly the strongest dude who defeated death himself...
Much love brother :))
No harry Potter already greeted death like a old friend
Thanks so much for this bro I instantly improved my technique as soon as I had digested your video. ☠️☠️
Glad it helped!
Wow, dude got skills🤙
Gonna be trying these out today! First time really throwing my new knives outdoors from any distance. Great video!
Have fun!
@@AdamCeladin You make it look so easy! Going to have to practice a ton and ill get good at it, it didn't go quite as planned lol. I'll have to watch more of your videos
Most of the people on UA-cam who are teaching some type of fighting technique are full of shit
Not this man
Awesome! Thanks so much Adam
Thank you Will much appreciated
Awesome, I started with the half spin using standard knives. Many got bent and broken. I really like the design of the knives in your video.
Adam: Im going to throw knives today
Tree: im not the only one in the forest
Lol
You teach this VERY well. I have good throwing knives and will soon be putting your methods to good use. We have had some large oaks fall down (or be put down) on our property, so I have several thick LARGE diameter round-cuts leaning back against a huge stump for my target.
thank you very much
Impressive video. Very impressive throwing. But I’m gonna warn the trees in my forest to watch out for you. 🧐
Ohoho 🤤 it took 10 years for youtube algorythm to finally understand me
Great video! Love your teaching style. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Im pretty hooked on no spin throws as that's how I started learning. Curious if you ever do underhand throws also?
Of Course Geoff ,)) Cheers
Bro your skills are uncanny ! Very impressive . As someone who has experience with throwing knives I know it took years of you perfecting your craft to get to this level. Yes ?
Hey Jimmy yes of course but you can throw knives in few minutes with good Technique
You might even be able to no spin it, I never tried that.
this man will definitely survive the hunger games
Thank you, brother. If I practice throwing more knives, I will become skilled. Thank you, brother❤❤❤❤❤
I usually throw a drumstick but I sharpened the tip, it works perfect for no spin, I don't have throwing knife because my parents won't allow me to have 😅😅
hha awesome idea :)
