Great video! Exactly what I was looking for: a honest non-sponsored review. Something hard to find these days. Was thinking of upgrading my CSW 2.5 for more details (and also to buy the new Porsche Endurance Module), but it seems I won’t notice much difference on the ffb details. Dont run the CSW on full torque and likely wont do that with the DD1/2.... will keep enjoying the CSW for now and get a Porsche 718 wheel instead...
Thank you!!
There is a difference, but not a huge one. Really like the looks of that Porsche podium module!
I think the review is good. I went from a CSW 2.5 to the Simucube2 pro. The simucube2 is better in every way but for me the 2.5 is a very good wheel and you wont get much competitive advantage out of the switch. Having said that where the DD's come into their own is customised profiles and the ability to eliminate oscillations for a calmer more rubbery natural and if you want stronger experience. The controllers are really where a lot of the magic happens with the DD's. Im happy with my simucube2 as this is a long term hobby and this device is solid as a rock and will last for years.
@@vosi88 Thanks a lot for the inputs, and sharing your thoughts!! 👌👍
I often hear that people do not use full torque of csw 2.5, so maybe there is no reason to go with csw 2.5 over csl elite?
Thanks for your honest comparison; you kindoff confirmed my expectations, Im really happy with my CSW2.5, I'm not jumping in the DD hype cold.. I guess one one of those last 10/20% upgrades you do after you've done other bigger upgrades
Thank you so much for the comment! If you are in need of other upgrades I would say the biggest one you can do, depending what you already have, is pedals. That's what made the most difference for me.
@@RVRCloset Thanks. Well, already have those :D I actually run a full fledged setup with rseat , full SW2.5 and simlab stand with triple 32'". my next upgrade is actually a buttkicker, should arrive today, Im stoked to see how much immersion this will add.
@@deegeeooh Sweet!👌
I haven't tried buttkickers, I have a jetseat, but I'm sure it's awesome!😃👍
It isn't the wheel base to do the best lap but the driver 😂😉.
The DD give you more feeling and good sensation with more effects.
So true mate, it's all down to racecraft and practice!😃👍
But I think it's a question many will ask.😁
cant wait for dd1 vs leo bodnar video in 2021
Hahaha!😂🙉😅
Have you made a new comparison again. I understand the latest updates for the DD1 are transformative. Would love to get your viewpoint again after thoroughly experiencing the new updates.
Oh, haven't heard of that. I actually switched to the CSL DD and no longer have the DD1 to test this..
I mostly had my DD1 at 10 Nm, and couldn't really tell the DD1 and CSL DD with booster kit appart, so I kept the much cheaper CSL DD.
Good comparison, nicely done.
Thanks buddy!! :)
Well...just used my malfunctioning CSL Elite as an excuse to buy the PS4 DD1 bundle. Selling the F1 wheel on ebay if you know anyone interested. Also will be selling the repaired/replaced CSL Elite wheelbase.
Oh nice!! A lot of upgrades to your rig!! :D
Give me the ebay link once you have it out and I can post it on my discord. :)

@@RVRCloset Im going to have to stiffen my wheel base plate a bit but it should be solid enough.
You have any plans to make more vids on your quaife shifter? I really like that thing.
@@DouglasThompson Yeah with your reinforcements I think it will work out nice. :)
Yes, I will make a review at some point.
@@DouglasThompson Ah nice! You already have it on the way?
I’m pretty happy with my ClubSport 2.5. I can see upgrading at some point given I could sell my current wheel base, but not particularly motivated right now.
The CSW2.5 is an awesome base!
And if I wouldn't have found the DD QR mod a while back I think I would have gone back to the CSW. The rubber ring on the DD1 started to give me issues changing rims..
Great video and I agree on many points from when I had the v2.5🤘🤘🤘
Thanks mate!
Nice to hear that from you that went with the Accuforce!👌👍
really nice video mate keep it up i love your videos
Thank you so much bro!🍻
Good review. I wish I took more notice of the back panel on the CS 2.5 before I mounted mine, I much prefer the back panel on your DD1. it's not easy to plug things in when its mounted to a flat bench top.
Thanks mate!
Yeah, not sure what they where thinking, and with the angle bracket tilting the back even more down it's even worse!.. And most of the time you have your rig or mounting spot up against a wall, so you have to try to crawl in under the rig or lean over and try to feel your way and get those darn cables in there. . :O
That was a really great review and I'm surprised the DD wasn't that much of a step up from the CSW, Not gonna lie tho I think i'd still get the DD if I had the money. I upgraded from a G27 to the CSW and I really disliked the CSW for probably a month until I got used to how it felt.
I'm constantly looking for the perfect FFB settings and sometimes it's frustrating when I can't get a game to feel how I like it or even in the ball park ie Raceroom but I do love my CSW now and I wouldn't go back to my G27. I kinda hope that would be the case if I got a DD.
Anyway great review 😍😍👍
Hehehe, I know that feeling!! Some games feel better with some wheel bases I think, making it even worse to find the right wheel and setting.. . ':D
The CSW 2.5 is an awesome base, and as close to a DD you can come, and it wasn't this big leap going to a DD as everyone was saying, not much bigger than the step from a T300 to the CSW imo..
It’s a fucking massive step up. In fact a major leap. The guy just ain’t a clue how to set it up that’s all.
Finally a review I've been looking for, going to upgrade from a thrustmaster t500, wasn't sure if was really comfortable spending alot of money on the dd1, they are really expensive in Canada, clubsport it is
Glad I could be of help, and thank you for the comment!
The 2.5 is a great wheel base.👍
did you make the upgrade ?if so can you describe it?
@@ahmedmohmed4346 I ending up getting a ts-pc racer, it's fantastic
Really appreciate this! Very helpful description. All the best!
Thank you very much, and you are welcome!
I have been using Thrustmaster T300 for many years and recently upgraded to Fanatec DD1. The differences are HUGE. DD1 has way way way more details, way way way stronger force even at 45%, way way way more realistic feel of roads, bumps, crash, mid corners, exit, understeer, oversteer, wheel slip... everything. I know exactly what the car is doing. My times not only improved by a few seconds but also i can consistently put in similar lap times. I consider that as side effect or may be placebo effect. I dont care much about performance. The immersion is absolutely amazing. That is what i am paying for.
I dont own the csw 2.5 but if you come from any lesser belt driven wheels, I can assure you that DD1 is absolutely worth it-especially for immersion.
One thing to note DD1 require a 8020 rig to be stable. Wheel stand cannot handle its high torque without flexing which defeat the purpose of its high details.
Thanks for your inputs!
I upgraded from a T300 ta a CSW2.5 before I got the DD1. The step from the T300 to CSW2.5 was way bigger than the step from CSW2.5 to a DD1.
@@RVRCloset With both of our data points, it seems safe to say that CSW 2.5 is probably the best belt driven belt wheel out there. It offers the best bang for the bucks too.
I am very curious of the differences between the two. I heard that it is driving at the limit where the very minor details matters a lot. That is where the DD1 shines? And of course, more dynamic range of FFB?
@@mr_smilegaming8842 Yes the CSW2.5 must be the best belt base, and really good wheel base for the money. The DD1 is better and slightly faster, but it's mostly the strength making them apart imo, with the detail in ffb I can't say I noticed any big differance.
I have been waiting a hella long time for this review. Just joking homeboy, good review.
Sorry for keeping you waiting homie!! ;D
Thanks my friend!!
Great video bro. Some day I hope to upgrade my wheel and maybe even a new cockpit. Keep up the great work.
Thanks my friend!! Looking forward seeing that when that day comes, and also really longing to racing you again!
I have a CSL Elite and this made me feel good about choice, people worship DD wheels but what you said made a lot of sense
Thank you!
Glad you feel good about your base. Haven't tried the CSL Elite, but from what I've heard it's a great wheel base.
Fanatec DD wheels piss all over the csl!!! The guy just ain’t a clue how to set it up.
@@markstuart8401 of course it’s better, but is it over $1100 better in terms of value? Probably not
Nice one mate. Im thinking about upgrading at the moment
Thanks buddy!!
Oh nice, what are you looking at?
R-VR Closet Either a CsW or a direct drive of some sort. TBH I’m thinking it’s just not worth the money
@@The_Bag__ What wheel are you having now?
R-VR Closet Just a G29 now so anything is an upgrade
@@The_Bag__ That would be quite a big step up to a DD, but what ever you go for will be great mate! :)
Thanks for your genuine words and opinion. I like your style a lot. Would be possible to know what setting you use in the Csw, if you are able to share? That will be awesome .. as after your video I decided to go for the Csw and the heusinvelk sprint's instead of the dd1 and the v3s. Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
You are welcome, and thank you for the nice comment!
I used 900 Rotation in most games, 540 in Rally, ffb 100, For 100, Fel 100, Sho 100, Abs 95 (not sure if this have an effect on Formula and BMW rim, or just the V3 pedals) Spring off, Damper off, Drift -05, brake force is only for Fanatec pedals.
@@RVRCloset thanks a lot mate. I just saw you had a big experience with the Csw 2.5 (the way you described your feelings on the wheel matched mines) and wanted to try you are settings.
I've found your video of your Csw 2.5 once you installed and got those settings from you:
Sen: depending on the car
FF 100
Sho 100
Abs 90 (own preference rumble motors)
Drift -5
For 100
Spr & dpr off
Brf (own preference)
Fei 100
I'm changing the pedals to the HS sprint next week but keeping the Csw 2.5...

Haven't tried the Sprint pedals, but bet they are really good!👍
thank you for your video ! I own a csw 2.5 and you said in some games there are big improvement with the dd1, can you tell us which games ?
and what kind of differences ? thank you again !
It's mostly the force you will notice, the CSW 2.5 is an awesome wheel base.
I found AMS 2, ACC and Dirt Rally 2.0 to feel really good with the DD1, not sure I think it's worth the price upgrading to the DD1 though.
@@RVRCloset thank you, I play dirt rally 2 a lot and there is a lack of feeling on tarmac with the csw 2.5, it is much more better with the dd ?
anyway I'll wait for the clubsport dd if it will comme out and I'll make up my mind. it depends on prices. maybe a csl dd would be allright for my needs.
Tarmac is a bit lacking in DR2.0 from a game stand point sadly..
I actually changed to the CSL DD with booster kit, I mostly used 10 Nm on my DD1, and didn't feel it was worth +600 euro for only 2 Nm. Really happy with the CSL DD, but guessing the CSW 2,5 and CSL DD is really close. Was a bit long since I had the CSW to tell.
@@RVRCloset so if there will be a clubsport dd you won't buy it ?
Would be tempting depending on price. But I can't actually tell the DD1 and CSL DD appart, having the DD1 set at 10 Nm.
Ottimo confronto bravo 👏 dopo queste tue considerazioni penso di tenermi ancora a lungo la mia csw 2.5 😅😅😅 dato che mi basta sia come forza che gli effetti che mi trasmette 💪🏻💪🏻
Glad you liked it buddy, and yes, the CSW is a really good wheel base!! :)
Cool video! What version of the driver do you use with dd1 and what games you play?
Thank you!
Here I have a video of my DD1 settings: ua-cam.com/video/kjUjI1EkM04/v-deo.html
In the pinned comment is the driver versions and what games I've tried with it.
So I'm looking for a realistic feel. I am new to all this. I tried the Thrustmaster TMX and logi G29 and sent them both back. Wheels and pedals were not great. I'm looking at the CSW v3.5, CS v3 pedals, dampers, and CS shifter. I'm just debating between the CSW 2.5 or the DD2. Do you think the extra FFB delivers more realism? Or is it just overkill? Also debating CS pedals vs CS inverted if you have experience. Any advice is appreciated.
It depends on what you race most I think, the difference in feel between the CSW2.5 and my DD1 is minimal, but if you wan't to replicate classic cars without powersteering a DD1 or 2 is the one to get I think.
The V3's are nice, but the inverted ones don't offer more than the V3's with inverted brake and clutch, and from what I've seen there are a bit of flexing in the inverted do to how they are built. If you have the money for Inverted, I think you get more for the money to go with higher end pedals like Heusinkveld Sprints. Or go for the stock V3's and save a few bucks.
But that's just my take on it, hope it helps. :)
@@RVRCloset hey thank you. I've gone with the ClubSport bundle that has the standard V3's. I think I'm just getting into this put wanted to take a plunge and enjoy it. I'll be playing a range from Assetto Corsa to Snow Runner and a bit of arcade in the middle. Coming soon looking forward to it.

Hey man when ordering a dd1 and a nascar rim what all do I need it do I need a metal hub adapter or does it come with it
Hi!
Here it is bundled with the Clubsport hub: fanatec.com/eu-en/steering-wheels/clubsport-steering-wheel-nascar?a_aid=375377&a_cid=8824bf0c
Or there also is a bundle if you want it with the podium hub.
@@RVRCloset do all the wheels come w the quick release or the piece that goes onto the base I dont wanna order it n not be able to use it n have to wait on something else n do u reccomend a emergency stop
@@marshallstrong7854 You can buy rims without hub or QR, but if you buy it with the bundle with clubsport hub or podium hub it's ready to use. I have never needed to press my emergency stop, only used it as a start button, and to turn the base off. But I know people in our group that have had their DD1 to freak out, and when it does it's scary, I wouldn't want to use it without the emergency button.
@@RVRCloset ok that helps thx alot for the info what wheel would u reccomend if u only had one I race the dirt cars mostly
@@marshallstrong7854 You are welcome! I'm liking that NASCAR rim for rally, and also the Drift rim is really nice.

@@RVRCloset have you ever raced on triples? If so, would you rather have triples or super ultrawide like 49"?
@@10MIN_BTG_E30 No I haven't, but I usually don't like the looks of triples. The screen used are often to small making the bezel coming in the middle of the in game car windshield.. Over that I would pick a ultrawide single screen.

@@maas7740 And another big plus is the Fanatec rims and QR system!😎👌
@@maas7740 did this wheel make you any quicker due the responsiveness of the wheel?
Cagefighter If anything, it only made me a little faster. But what has improved a lot is the consistency with which I now drive. You can feel better what the car is doing and you can adjust to it better. It also makes catching the car easier.
what one should i get for my xbox on my desk DD1 Of V2.5 With the Formula V2 wheel
If you are going to have it on a desk I would say CSW 2.5, it's only really the force you get extra with the DD1, they are really close in feel. And having a DD1 on a desk would be a bit of a waste cause you would loose a lot of that extra force to the desk. If it's not a super rigid and solid desk that don't move an inch?
@@RVRCloset Yeh my plan is to out the base under the tv so wheels just in the right spot

I don't gel with my cswv2.5 as much as I do my thrustmaster believe it or not years now tons of drivers tobs of settings still don't like it as much idc if it's smoother I like the feel of thr thrustmater more I see why people that love thrustmaster stay with them regardless lol
Oh really, what Thrustmaster base do you have?
I moved from the T300 to the CSW2.5, and that was a bigger move than from the CSW2.5 to the DD1.
The CSW2.5 was just way smother, stronger and felt a lot better than the T300.
@@RVRCloset yeah I have the tgt and I just really like it just something about thrustmaster and the way it feels and delivers the force I actually enjoy the dampening also I do think the dd will be nice if I get one as with that it shouldn't have a ton fo dampening but with belts I'm used to that weighty feel and with thruster I actually feel like I'm moving a car when I turn you know what I mean? Just preference the fanatec is great so many like it but a few like myself haven't enjoyed it as much but I can see why people do who want a smooth wheel with less friction hell I still use my t300rs more then my cswv2.5 but I use the tgt more don't get me wrong I'm excited to get the csl elite dd I think it's gonna be good with the boost kit have to get 8nm since I'm already getting over 6nm with this and the cswv2.5 is 7.1 nm but I've heard heard got there DD wheels way more dialed in then st first and I saw how lively and how detailed the ffb people were getting now after the drivers and now I def want to try the dd and so far the early review videos are saying it feels the same as the dd1 just not as strong which I'm cool with tbh for fnastrc to release a wheel that feels as good as therr DD wheels which took years to get to that level with drivers that's a huge statement imagine what happens with updated drivers on the csl elite DD it may even grt better overtime like the others but yeah I still love my thrustmaster wheels can play with the best of them and enjoy it still so not to shabby that's what matters if you like it and enjoy it the rest is just a dick swinging competition haha but I'll be getting the csl elite dd with the boost for the 8nm since rvrryoen is saying it feels the same as the dd1 and dd2 just not as powerful so that's great imo and the price is right lol illl still be buying the tgt2 also but people missed it thrutmaster also showed another name nobody is talking about they have another wheel coming somehow everyone missed that hopefully that one is a DD
Never liked the friction or dampened feeling, you can still use the dampening settings on the Fanatec though. But as you say, we all prefer different things, good thing we have both in the sim racing market so we can pick what we like best.😃👍
@@RVRCloset exactly and what makes it great about us being different manufacturers end up making different things to fit either of us yeah fanstec does dampening but not the natural dampening effect thrustmaster has that's exactly what fnastec has tried to eliminate from there belt wheels I don't want it on a DD but for belt I like it thats what I'm used to with the DD the FFB is so direct it doesn't need it the ffb will have enough weight feel no matter what you do for me I like it being from the belt as the thrustmaster has more restriction on there belt makes me feel like I'm moving a heavy Carr which I enjoy with DD it does that automatically due to the power and the direct ffb I'm sure you understand what I'm saying but I'm very excited to try the csl elite DD 8nm is all I need can't wait to feel that fine detail I saw people using it and could literally see every bump the touched that I'm excited about and with that extra power I mesn I use my tgt pretty much maxed out so moving up to 8nm will be awesome in a DD wheel for sure

@@RVRCloset yeah because i think i buy the csl for ps4 because its not usefull if i don't use a f1 wheel its waste of money if i don't use it any ways
@@XMotionn Yeah, weird they force PS4 owners to have to buy the DD1 in this bundle.. .
Never tried the CSL, but I know a lot of people that are happy with it.
Have you tested dd2?
No I have not. But from my understanding they are using the same motor, only the DD1 is restricted to 20 NM of peak torque,
whereas the DD2 have 25 NM.
