There are a lot of good drummers out there, and I know there are faster or technically better ones. But when it comes to the whole package of technique, creativity & feeling, timing and all that spiced up with a good dose of having fun, Akane is at least for me the best of the ones I know. _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. When I first started watching this video I thought, "Wow, really hard to understand his English." Then I thought, "Wait... his English is FAR better than my Japanese... which consists of about 5 words, 4 of them food-related." :D I enjoyed the video and the review, thank you. I agree with your comments; it's a good video and review. And then you topped it off with that really fun video of them performing BLIND, wearing masks over their eyes.... then just laughed... This group really enjoys what they do... and that's a great deal of their charm. People have their opinions on "who's the best drummer in the world", and that's flexible. But I know my FAVORITE is Akane. :D
I love both these ladies to bits, their bands would never be the same without them, even if they are all soooooo brilliant at what they play. There are no matchs for Bandmaid and Lovebites, and they are both so different.

At 5'6", A-chan towers over diminutive guitarists Kanami (5'1") and Miku (5'). Still Akane is only the 2nd tallest member of BAND-MAID...MISA is 5'8". Saiki is fairly normal size for a Japanese woman, around 5'4".
I think it's a bit of a downgrade to say "one of the best Japanese female rock drummers"... She's one of the best drummers period, regardless of gender, genre, or nationality. (Source: me.)
