Her timing is as good as any metronome. She also plays her drums like an instrument not an anvil. Graceful and elegant like a swiss watch. I just wish I knew what she was saying..

In one version he said she played drums with the same spirit or in the same spirit as the late John Bonham. Akane’s drum patterns are beasty. It was her drums and Misa on bass the made me fall in love with Band Maid. All these women are great but musically these 2 are my fav.

This video is just Akane, and it's nice to have the focus just on her. I'm not really complaining about Miku, I'm saying that I'm happy that it's just Akane talking for a change.
Ironically, Akane seems to least solo interviews on camera than the others in Band Maid. Her personality is very outgoing, but she seems to be the most private.
Akane's style reminds me more and more of Max Weinburg-- Both sit fairly still, but they can make the kit just THUNDER. And they're always in the pocket. Excellent!!! 😎

I am watching this again for the 1000th time. I am noticing something here worth commenting on. Reaction videos always mention that AKANE is using drum pads on her drums to silence them (as in REAL EXISTENCE where they are on location). I don't think she is, the drum heads are clear and when viewed at an angle look black, which is why they are thinking that they are pads. Either that or she is using digital drum pads. I'm not a drummer so it's a theory. Either way it's AKANE's talent that brought me here and no amount of digital electronics is going to hide her talent as an absolutely great drummer. Re-re-watching this I am looking at the overhead view am I seeing a sensor on the Tom and the KD?

Nice to see Akane getting some individual attention, but I wish her drumming here was as energetic as her drumming for Band-Maid is. I was hoping she'd show off a little.
Not her way and not Band-Maid's way. They give in to western audiences with individual samplers of each individual's talents but these ladies are far more interested in making a show as opposed to showing off.
I am a lucky one, too. I have tickets for the September 30th show at the Echoplex in LA and l cannot wait. Best damn hard rock band on the planet today as far as l am concerned.
In defense to "Akane" on her drum set up, ------- the "electronic drum concept", + the whole idea with electric style, is getting the modern touch, + fusing drum sounds, having the choice of effects at random, + the convenience, + practicality, of cherry picking, many percussion instruments, at will, + at the ease of your fingertips, the playing stage, would not be large enough, to hold, all that is offered regularly, drummers who understand, + use electrics of any sort, mixed, sparingly, or full time, have a variety driven, mindset, the reproduction quality, has progressed, over the years, thanks to company's like Roland, "Rick Allen" from "Deff Leoppard" proved that, afterall don't we channel mike, the drum kit, for volume, + tone, through a soundboard, using artificial frequency, + electric signals, done live, + in the studio ect. opposed to the natural regular acoustics, no disrespect to other players, it's all good! but just different.
