It was largely automated, just needed a bit of manual work/ingenuity when his hands crossed over it in corners :)

Was rooting for you on the side! What a great experience it was. First time I went to SPA, first time I went to a 24h and the 100 year anniversary was probably the best moment to go.

if there's no assistant arranged, the driver getting out normally helps the driver getting in. Common in endurance racing, but even better watching it from driver PoV instead of from broadcast angles.

i drive this car a lot in forza motorsport on spa, and it's funny to see that you stay in 3rd gear in some turn's while me i use 2nd . but that's probably because you have to manage the tires and all of that

Hi james, im not a race driver so likley wrong, but with spa being recently resurfaced shouldnt you be going on curbs less and using the tarmac more?

Kerbs in some corners are still the way to go, in other corners not so much, it depends on the corner.
How do you adjust the side mirrors on these cars james?
The mechanics need to do it, the driver can't from inside the cockpit
Is the steering off a little? Looks like the steering wheel is turning to the left on the straight. Or is it just the camera?
Yep the wheel isn't perfectly central, doesn't really make a difference tho, just look's weird.

@@WigSplitters They were 2:17's which was around what a lot of the pro's were doing in this session, there were a couple of 2:16's from memory. I wasn't on new tyres on this run though, plus quite heavy fuel.

Oh and I would love to hear a honest review after the event. I want to know how fast you were campared to the pros, to your competition in class and to your teammates.
The thing is, pro-am drivers have more stable (slower) car setups to accommodate gentlemen drivers who will be doing a stint or two in the race. The team can't change the setup for James' stint mid race so he'll probably be slower just because of that handicap alone..
Honest review would be great though.
