WTF Happened to KEVIN SPACEY?

  • WTF Happened to Kevin Spacey? That's an understatement. Once the most celebrated character actor in Hollywood, who became an unlikely star after winning an Oscar for Sam Mendes' American Beauty (1999) following another Oscar for The Usual Suspects (in 1995) and his memorable role in David Fincher's Se7en, Spacey has arguably starred in more classics than many of his contemporaries. In addition to the previously mentioned movies, he also starred in the amazing L.A. Confidential, the underrated The Negotiator, Swimming with Sharks, Glengarry Glen Ross, Baby Driver, and also starred on Netflix's first big hit, House of Cards.
It all came crashing down when Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making a sexual advance at him when he was only fourteen years old. Shortly after, other men came forward with sexual harassment and assault claims, and the fallout was fierce. In this episode, we explore his rise and fall, with it ranking as one of the more troubling stories we've tackled on WTF Happened to this Celebrity.
To note: since this video was published Kevin Spacey was found innocent of all criminal charges levelled against him.

@Carlos Piazza well. You know how it goes... With 30 or so people coming forward, he probably is guilty. I still don't know how I feel about people waiting for several decades and let actors build a career before suddenly remembering being sexually assaulted long time ago. It's nearly impossible to prove after such a long time, so it ends being this weird defamation lawsuit thing where people get canceled over allegations and the outcome and objective truth doesn't matter any more

"American Beauty" is one of the most conventional and rethorical mainstream movies about US-family and society. In the real life Kevin is too feminine for that kind of macho's roles. The indipendent Todd Solondz's "Happiness" (1996), about the same subject, is a movie on another planet.

he is one of the best actors. ALL celebritards in hollyweird are pervs and pedos, every single one of them. That is a fact that has been going on since the industry started.
ANYONE who follows celebritards personal life, where they live, what they eat, watch awards shows, follow them on social media, etc. have serious mental issues that should be addressed. I like the movie driving miss daisy, but I don't hang out at the piggly wiggly waiting for them to show up. That is sick and twisted behavior for anyone to be following celebritards. I will watch all of kevin spacey movies as they are good, like rules of engagement. metoo is a slush fund scam and you shouldn't listen to any of those half wits because it's all corruption.

The easy way is that in light of massive crimes, their very way of life should be picked apart and given to the people. All their future property rights to their films and etc and profits therein are invested into a trust which is dumped into the public with clear money trails. They never, ever get a cent from any of their work ever again, but their work is allowed to endure - solely to enrich the people they harmed.

It's easy to say 'oh it would have been proved by now'...unfortuantely it doesnt work like that. For example, the number of rapes reported to police bears no relation to the number reported to rape crisis centres...and the % reported to police that eventually result in a charge is tiny..and only a tiny % of those ever result in a conviction..its the same for any type of sexual assault, regardelss if anyone is famous or not. Its an extremely hard thing to prove, and without some certainty of conviction, it's unlikley to go further forward...that has nothing to do with guilt or innocence, it has to do with the way the justice system works nowadays.

The good part of it was NOT dragging people through the mud for being who they are: I'm thinking of Rock Hudson and Raymond Burr, who were gay at a time when being "found out" was the end of your career.
