Jim Carrey only made the Grinch because of his daughter, he has said in interviews he played the roll for her and would have done it for free, so any critique of it didn't matter to him, as long as his daughter enjoyed it.

      Also Jim Carey:
“We have to say yes to socialism - to the word and everything,” Mr. Carrey said Friday on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” “We have to stop apologizing.”
      What a tard.

@Mr. Friendship It's a great quote, offered as advice to those still seeking answers in materialistic things. 9 out of 10 of us are still stuck, just hairless apes too busy grabbing the next guy's banana to even consider the things Jim says.
It really is sad that there are people too indoctrinated by FAUX Nooz to understand it and just go "Wah libbrulls".

The Cable Guy was such a fantastic film. Its definitely what made me like him. I found him almost intolerable before, and the irony that the intolerable Chip was so endearing and identifiable, in an adolescent way? Same with most of them. And musicians. One example is kurt cobaine I know for sure, he didnt write teen spirit, he hated it too. They have people who write these songs and use the peoples lives and interesting backstories, and styles to push agendas for the generation at the time. It's all control.
Observe how people suddenly dressed and how nirvana "took over the music world" for so long, and how they pushed that grunge lifestyle for so long, and the generation ate it up.

"we must show the actors love". Maybe that is part of the problem. Love the work, hate the work. But that isn't who they are. Because of my job I worked with many famous people. I treated them with respect just like I do with everyone I work with. And that was all anyone wants. Treat them like real people and you'll see real people. Idolize them and they will be distant, aloof and cautious. People want something from famous people. Their picture, their autograph, a moment of their time. Stop it. They gave at the office. Being with famous people is enlightening. They aren't magical. They have nothing that will rub off on you. Stop trying to give them something so they will give you something incredible in return.

Perfect example is that climate summit many of them attend yearly. It’s all done in super posh private locations. They arrive via yachts, private planes or big limos yet they’re lecturing and funding initiatives to stick us all in electric cars, kill coal miners’ jobs, using those dumb cardboard straws, etc. It’s all so utterly ridiculous. Like hey, if you guys care so much about the earth and the climate, live by example. Give your luxury huge ass carbon foot print lifestyles and just live like the rest of us while donating a big chunk of your money to helping poor people, maybe buy those who want them, those electric cars electric cars.

For anyone that's experienced both sides of that coin in life, it's easy to see how scripted the lives and role selection for most actors is but Jim feels real; Jim is real. I wouldn't say that Jim Carrey has been acting for years, rather he's been projecting the roles, embracing a reality that can be expressed through script. Some would say that's acting, I would not; acting feels fake, it feels setup, it feels directed... What Jim Carrey has been doing, well it feels overly lifelike.

My first exposure to Jim Carrey was In Living Color And he was the Talk of the Town. He's the talk of the school. It was the talk of my friends group every week. We couldn't wait to go to school so we could talk with our friends. That what we had seen. The night previous, And of course immediately quote everything that Jim Carrey had said because he was the most quotable guy you could imagine. If you are truly of that era as I am, the phrase "LET ME me show you something!!!!!" immediately brings back the hilarity that enveloped us watching him. We would watch In Living Color and I would Throw a temper tantrum if my parents wanted to go out to eat. During the time that it was on. Because it came on Sunday nights and that's when my parents always wanted to go out to eat at the end of The Weeknd. I tried my best to tape the show, And as a result. , I have many of the original broadcast on VHS tape Jim Carrey the first time they were ever aired on TV as new episodes. Venus de Milo, ride the dragon , Fire, Marshall Bill I have them all. I dare not play the tape today. In fear that the magnetic Substrate will flake off. I'd love to get it transferred. It's sad how the depression, Drugs, Hollywood life, people he loved in his life dying, the nasty public break up's & divorces & lastly his own warped worldview/politics is what happened to Jim Carry. Sadly it's what happens to most celebrities that people worship like gods. I loved watching most of the Jim carry movies listed in this video (mainly the stuff from 90's Jim Carry) But his politics & worldview make the guy unlikable outside his acting & comedy. As we learned in recent years most of Hollywood is like this. These people are great at what they do on screen but off screen they are the most miserable, narcissistic egotistical assholes you would never want to meet. But that's Hollywood culture.

@ You're right there's nothing wrong with that. Where you are wrong is thinking ANY of these Hollywood elites are like that. Most of them have the understanding of a toddler about any of the problems they pretend to care about. I watch movies/play videogames/read books & comics/listen to music to be entertained not to be lectured about how much of a shitty person i am. Especially by the modern day court jester. If they want to talk about those issues & use their platform to promote people who are actually trying to solve them then by all means do so. But going around shitting on the people WHO'S MONEY PAYS FOR THEIR IVORY TOWER CAREFREE LIFESTYLE for daring to not agreeing with & believing what they believe makes them the worlds biggest assholes.

A thoughtful and fitting tribute to a great man, who seems to be at peace with himself now. My favorite Jim Carrey quote goes something like this; 'I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer.'
Pretty sure he tried backing out of his blood oath that most if not all entertainers have to sign to get to the top. A close friend of mine explained it something like this, once they discover your weakness they exploit it and use it against you.
This gentleman came through the side door into Hollywood as a bodyguard and was so personable that he quickly started working for personalities like Janet Jackson and Prince, who he later worked for almost exclusively. One night at Prince's nightclub he was upstairs doing some paperwork and an impeccably dressed Man walked up and started talking to him, it was more of a getting to know you conversation but he couldn't help but notice that "Not a hair was out of place, not a stitch of his $10,000 suit was a miss. Shortly after he was brought into the boardroom and all he could tell me was that he had to sign a document or else he had to quit the business. That was when I reconnected with him back home where we came from, and he is still a bit tight-lipped about it all.

I think Jim as the whole package is great, Jim brings out the darkest part of your inner self and makes it funny, in reality that’s what we all grew up watching as kids, bugs bunny Tom and Jerry, this is all dark humor, because it’s funny when someone falls and it’s funny someone gets hurt. I grew up with 3 brothers.. they used to burn matches in between my toes while I was sleeping, that sh*t was funny as hell.
