Style also increases red orbs gained and in past games it extended things like million stab time I'm pretty sure

I think the potential of this run could be even more fun on the form of a wheel. It would be a big ass wheel sure but spinning it every floor would be interesting
That would certainly be interesting! I can't stress enough how tight the timer is at the beginning though, getting a bad move from the wheel early on could easily just end the run. If the timer was gone or it was done from the practice mode where you start whatever stage with 20 mins tho, that would be awesome

@@NoHandle44 Fair point, I tried a few different things I wanted to work on but I have a bunch of DMC challenge run stuff lined up for the near future! I also previously just made random combo vids and shitposts casually. Now I'm really focusing on trying to produce quality content in a consistent manner!
Now this but with other character limitations
V: only 1 familiar per 30-35 or so stages
Nero: only 1 Devil Breaker per 10 stages
Vergil: 1 weapon or gun(mirage blades) per 25 stages (last stage Vergil boss excluded from count, must use previous weapon for this stage however, same for Nero and V)
Vergil: Use one ultimate move (JCE, HOE, Deep Stinger, WoV) every 4 floors, cycling between them for each floor.
The idea is cool but we probably need something else for nero since that wouldnt change too much
@@nickless8336 It actually sounds pretty hellish to take on Bloody Palace as Nero using only Devil Breakers. Not only does it limit your moveset, but you need to make sure you complete the stages without getting hit while using a DB, or you'd just have to restart.
@@alathelios his comment says only 1 breaker for 10 stages tho, if you dont breakaway all the time you should be fine
@@nickless8336 Thomas's comment is talking about the fact that if you got hit while using a devil breaker then it will break causing you to have completely restart the challenge.

I know you're not taking requests but if you're interested im trying to find a consistant reliable way to cheese DMD Vergil with Faust without having to rely on DSD which everyone seems to lean on.
So far the consensus seems to be "Use DSD or pray you get lucky"
I think the most reliable strategy would just be to learn the perfect guard timings for his summoned swords. Once you do that you can easily get a triple S and allow you to quad S any time Vergil teleports into your face. Once he devil triggers wait for him to do the triple slash down, that's one of his easier moves to royal release. If you DT when you do it that alone will take like 1/4th of his hp, and then you can just pop SDT and generally finish him off haha

So you don't think there are any moves outside of round trips/swords formation that could stunlock or pin him down long enough for say a Lvl 2 or 3 red hot knight?
Ah I get what you're saying. I don't think so, maybe Round Trip with Rebellion or Sparda, but that's pretty much the same thing. Sword formation/Round trips are really the only passive thing you can charge up while doing other things. Man in the red might also work for that though, since those passively float around Dante as well
There’s a strategy where you have to trick the rng into complying with your desire to use Red Hot Night (the meteor attack)
@@notproductiveproductions3504 I realised that you can actually get a decent chunk of damage in with Faust if you catch him in the air after a rapid slash.
Still pretty scary but it was the little bit of edge I needed to beat him at least half legit lol. Definitely nowhere near as terrifying as DMC3 Vergil on DMD.
I wonder if you could've pulled off Red Hot Night easier at the end by taunting repeatedly until Vergil does it back to you, starting the charge from there

I think I pretty much did only judgement cut when I originally did the bloody palace with vergil haha, but only stinger would be pretty interesting I think

I consider using the Rebellion and Sparda same moves cheating, cus the move its the same, but what about this? you can use many moves as you like, but the ones you use in a floor are lost, if you use 5 moves in floor 80, you lose them all.

Call me crazy, but I thought landing the rose from the air taunt not only throws up the enemy but also gives more style?
It very well might give a bit more style, there were times when I noticed it jump from about 1/4 of A rank up to S, and others where it would go from 0% A to 50%, but I was just using it to keep whatever rank I currently had from decaying until I was able to get more style from the move I was using again, I didn't put too much emphasis on trying to land the rose. That would certainly be more useful info to keep in mind though!

Haha, you can do it! Some of the strategies I implemented for certain stages can absolutely be applied to a normal run, like an easy way to parry the 3 furies on 70 or letting the behemoth kill most other enemies on 97. I believe in you!

How about other variation of this challenge - you can use anything, but only once per floor (cant repeat attacks, jumps, style moves, special moves etc) ?

An idea for the Vergil fight- build up your style meter to triple s and dance taunt him. Might give you enough of an opening to pull it off. I have never tried it against Vergil, so I don't know if it works on him like Dante though

You can find the original Kalina Ann laying on the ground in the Urizen fight in mission 10, or you can also find it inside a room in the building where you have to destroy the various qliphoth roots to progress in mission 11

A good portion of people have trouble completing the floors with access to everything. Using one move without running out of time or dying and still making it all the way to the end.... Mad respect bruh
If switching between fists and kicks is considered a 'move' then wouldnt switching them after you did your floor with them considered a fail?
Remember that game which is designed to discourage spamming a single move? How about going through it by spamming a single move _per floor_ ☝️

haha! Tips for beating dmc3 bloody palace hmm.. I used Vergil and Spammed Starfall+Jump Cancel. For the angel enemies that fly around Arial Rave with yamato is really good and I'd also recommend mapping your shoot button to something you can be constantly pressing because Vergil's summoned sword shots do a ton of damage in that game and you can shoot them while doing everything else.
Also want to add that if you let vergil sheath the katana after a move it gives him free Devil Trigger. On certain stages against more passive or slow enemies you can use this to fully heal up and fill up your DT
@@LucidEnigmaX I didn't know that about the sheathing mechanic I thought it just increased your style but that's really helpful to know if it restores DT
I still need to practice on getting the jump cancels on enemies because I'm very inconsistent when it comes to starfall cancels
I got a new PB of floor 2801 while listening to part 3 of your DMC4 Gun only run and im really proud rn
I never realized just how much damage you can deal if you keep firing the summoned swords while attack until i bound the shoot button to my left trigger instead of somewhere on the right side of my controller which is where i was trying to bind it to before
while i still cant get starfall jump cancels lunar phase is also a really good tool for dishing out a shit ton of damage

Can you beat the bloody palace or Dmc 5 with only ebony and ivory/blue rose? Power is great and all but Pistol goes PEW PEW PEW
There's a few enemies that have barriers that block shots, but there are ways to circumvent that I believe. I think blue rose would probably be possible but ebony and ivory might be too slow with the strict time limitations the palace puts into place. Beating the campaign gun only is most certainly doable though!
Nah, some enemies need to be melee’d out of their invincibility mode (even on human difficulty)

a majority of the resets were just creating the list, doing runs seeing how much time i could gain and what moves were most optimal for what floors. After every floor completed I meticulously referred to my spreadsheet and ensured I was equipped with and prepared to use whatever weapon/move was up next
