Thank you Michael you are a Gem. Your instructions are very clear. Yes we needed to reboot as per your step 4. We did get a new modem sent out by our service provider and had no idea on how to get chrome cast working again. Netflix and UA-cam worked fine. Just our chromecast was not working.

I just got a new wifi router and tried every method on here. When ever I get to the wifi set it keeps saying, Chromecast 1482 could not connect to my wifi and please check your input. My new wifi router give me the option to have 3 addition radios and I'm making sure to connect to the Chromecast to the one I'm connect with on my phone. I've tried switching to the other to see if it was just that wifi radio but nothing it's give me the same error.
I am having problems with my apps connecting to the it was working fine last night and now all of a sudden it's not not sure whether it needs updating or need help
Here is a hot tip for the video uploader - Michael: When you check the Chromecast, it will have a steady white light glowing on the bottom. When you hold in the reset button you will notice the white light starts to flash orange. Keep holding the button till the light goes back to a steady white glow again then let go. No need to check TV which is rather difficult if you have your head behind the TV. Right?

thanks kind sir! My mom took over a google home device at her house, I bought as a gift for my dad. I set it up originally, because my parents and tech-unsavy. my mom got a new router and set up the google home device herself with a new google home app sign in. for some reason this messed up my own home. likely because I setup my dad's google home device from my phone originally, so when she took over the device, my home devices started treating me like Stanger or guest. The master reset button let me reconnect them from scratch, and now i have control again. It was hard to find this video because there is no video about a new problem with chromecast that just stopped working and the cue was it was treating me like a guest, asking for a pin number. You should repost this under title "did your chromecast just start asking for a PIN" and the answer is, do a master reset. cause? likely a device you set up for a family member has been taken over and now your own google home is not sure you are the owner, so master reset.

My ISP had an outage. Now my Chromecast ultra won't connect after all these steps. I already knew these steps myself and I can't get it to work. This happens everytime there's an outage. It won't work for a week straight everytime.

Greetings - I've tried all four steps to get my Chromecast up and running - don't know why it disappeared. My TV Monitor says I'm connected - but still can't get anything streamed??? I've gone over the steps 5 times, still nothing. Can you help? Thanks
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. We recommend attempting the full reset a second or third time as we have seen this in the past.
Some of our viewers have mentioned it took three full resets to finally reconnect...😎👍
Cheers from Australia -Great vid , easy to follow and worked
We appreciate that, thanks for watching & sharing this. How’s the weather in Australia? Cold here in the states.
Thank you Michael you are a Gem. Your instructions are very clear. Yes we needed to reboot as per your step 4. We did get a new modem sent out by our service provider and had no idea on how to get chrome cast working again. Netflix and UA-cam worked fine. Just our chromecast was not working.
Very cool & great to hear you’ve got a new modem & things are synced up and running properly. Hopefully many stress free days ahead for you.

Thank you. Step #2 did the trick. UA-cam videos would play audio but no picture. Appreciate you!

I have the first generation chrome cast, it is stopped working. I try everything but not working, I tried factory reset but it is solid red no turning lights at all. I heard google stop supported 1st generation. Is it mean I can not use it anymore?

Thanks for watching, that’s no fun. Have you performed the full reset procedure more than once?
Resetting it a second or third time may help.
I tried everything you suggested. It still didn't. Work. I have it plugged into HDMI 3 . Is it because it has to be plugged into 1 arc?
Thanks for watching & any HDMI port will work. How old is Chromecast? How is your internet connection? Please keep us posted.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders it's new. The tv is a hisense roku tv. I don't think that matters?

Thanks for the reply. A possible cause can be your internet provider. Unfortunately not all providers are compatible with the Chromecast. You may want to give your provider a quick call. Keep us posted.

I know this is a old video but I just recently picked up Chromecast it's been working just great but for some reason I get a black screen I've tried everything under the sun to fix this and nothing works at some point the Google G will pop up on my screen after it goes away it still sits on a black screen what do you have any answers for the problem I'm having. Like I said I've done everything you said.
Thanks for watching & let’s get this figured out. Have you selected Chromecast on your bottom Source menus?
What should I do if it puts me in a loop between going to the help center to "activate" it and telling me to go to the app to activate it which just sends me back to the help center.
I'm so frustrated. Everything was fine. Turned t.v off then when I turned it back on it wasn't connecting. I have it under family room. I see it on my phone were my other rooms are but it won't connect!
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. We appreciate you reaching out to us. What’s your update? Have you completed all troubleshooting steps?

I just got a new wifi router and tried every method on here. When ever I get to the wifi set it keeps saying, Chromecast 1482 could not connect to my wifi and please check your input.
My new wifi router give me the option to have 3 addition radios and I'm making sure to connect to the Chromecast to the one I'm connect with on my phone. I've tried switching to the other to see if it was just that wifi radio but nothing it's give me the same error.
I am having problems with my apps connecting to the it was working fine last night and now all of a sudden it's not not sure whether it needs updating or need help

Here is a hot tip for the video uploader - Michael:
When you check the Chromecast, it will have a steady white light glowing on the bottom. When you hold in the reset button you will notice the white light starts to flash orange. Keep holding the button till the light goes back to a steady white glow again then let go. No need to check TV which is rather difficult if you have your head behind the TV. Right?

No idea how this worked, but unplugging the Chromecast from my HDMI and trying another port (after waiting 20-30 seconds) managed to do the trick. Not sure if it's because I plugged it into an eARC port instead of a service HDMI, but it's working now regardless

Hi, I've done the disconnect etc everything every night. My problem is that I can't cast anything OTHER than utube, in Australia we have SBS on demand and ABV iView. Until 2 days ago I was able to cast everything to my TV. I'm semi blind so I need to view on the TV. Help would be greatly appreciated. I use my Samsung tablet if that helps. It's strange it connects and casts only utube, so my chromecast is working. Cheers Rosemary Western Australia 73yrs

How old is Chromecast? Have you lost power recently? Or…if Chromecast is removed from tv while tv is on…it can cause issues.

thanks kind sir!
