Did all of those steps, its connects to the wifi. As soon as it connects , it says somethings wrong. My wifi works perfectly fine. And the modem is right next to tv. It used to work perfectly fine before now it cant seem to fix this

THANKS BRO!! can’t believe I couldn't find a reset button on my chromecast on my own but after watching your video and seeing where you reset the chromecast I double looked with the flashlight and there was so dumb going through all this hassle trying to set it up so thank you very much I now have chromecast I got my Hulu and my Netflix hooked up to it which I didn't before because this isn't a smart TV thank you brother
If it still doesn't work after all that, try unplugging the chromecast and connect it directly into a laptop using the USB port. Make sure laptop is connected to the internet. And then click through the full setup again. Ended up working for me!

I had them both for about two years, now they just stopped connecting?!?! Everything else in my household works just fine. Now I have to buy a new one just to test it.
my device didn't have a reset button or a secondary connection but i was able to reboot by pulling the input cable out of the device jack and putting it back in. Rebooting was the key and it worked. Thank you!

What worked for me was to set it up on another TV if you have one. I tried for over 2 hours with no success, then I tried it on my TV in the rec room and it worked instantly.
Hit factory recall button on Chromcast, uninstall Google home. Once Chromcast reboots, download Google Home, and follow the steps on Google home. You'll be set up
i got my friend the chromecast but he recently upgraded his wifi to faster speed and now has a different router his chromecast now wont connect to the new wifi and he perform a factory reset three times before he upgraded his wifi it was fine can you help
Hi All!!! I did all this but it did not work! But I did all the steps he shared again and then added a new chromocast device on my home app. That made it worked. You'll just have to add new device and diaregard the old one

My chromecast is attempting to connect to wifi without asking for the password. Then it fails to connect

Solved it by leaving chromecast on for 5 to 10 hours and then tried again to connect and it worked. Before that I tried everything and it didnt work.
I fixed mine, snaped it in two and brought a Roku 😂 problem solved. No my wifi is fine and so is my router 😂
