    Lonliness at see almost fifty years ago. No gps, satellite phones, no huge store of mp3 music or audio books. Just themselves and the sea. How come with so many of us now so well connected together by tech, yet still people are often feeling lonely and disconnected. Thanks Nick for this mini series of sailing history.

    And to think I feel lonely and isolated in my condo during covid. Imagine sailing across the Atlantic alone. Mental strength and fortitude personified. Thanks NIck! Great series. Your channel is a gem!

    Glad you posted this Nick. It is interesting. It is nice to not that after 2000 they split into pro and amature. It doesn’t make sense to me a 200 footer racing with a 30 footer. This older race is amazing though, compared with the tech we have today.
