Not so much improvised as the crew and David Tennant knew it was going to happen. When Rose is in the shower in "New Earth" and gets absolutely soaked. She wasn't told this was going to happen for 2 reasons, the director wanted the right reaction so it was done in one take, the 2and was that Russel T and David Tennant both said it would serve her right as she had just announced to them she would be leaving at the end of series 2, so it was done as a prank. Lol.

William Hatnell wasn't really that old at the time he played The Doctor, he was 55 in 1963 when he first got the part, that's the same age as Keanu Reeves is now and 2 years younger than Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

But being 55 in 1963 is much "older" than being 55 in 2020. This guy smoked like a chimney and saw war, too.

Fraser Hines not Frasier. Wrong show. Little known fact Jamie Fraser from outlander is named for both the actor Fraser Hines and his character in Dr Who. Jamie McCrimmon. Fraser also had a cameo in Outlander when Jamie was a prisoner in Wentworth, castle not the Australian women’s prison.

You neglected to mention the Hartnellisms became an integral part of the character ever onwards. Some of his later incarnations used them (such as 9th getting Mickey's name wrong, or 10th misremembering simple things only to joke that it was intentional)

5:20 The Brigadier had not "already met several incarnations of The Doctor" at the time he saw the Third Doctor begin to regenerate. He had only met one previous incarnation (the second), whom he did not see regenerate. In any case at the time there were only two previous Doctors, which hardly qualifies as "several". Nicholas Courtney had appeared in Doctor Who during the Hartnell era, it was as Bret Vyon, not as Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart.

Hartnell as an older gentleman with health issues. Ill health yes but not elderly being only 55 when he started as the first Dr. It’s a wig to make him look the 400 or so years old time lord he was portraying.

The Hartnellisms sadly aren't as noticeable because back then everyone messed up, we just didn't care about doing many retakes. So a lot of people misspoke but immediately corrected themselves, in like every other episode.
