I'm happy that you mentioned the Ra Ra Rasputin moment, but seriously why is everyone overlooking the look the Dalek and Cyberman give each other as if to say "we said yes to this"
I love the bit where John Simm's master sings along to 'I can't decide' by the scissor sisters and pushes david tennant in his aged prosthetics around in a wheelchair, you could just see david tennant trying not to laugh! 😂 I also love the bit in partners in crime where the doctor and donna are signing to each other through the windows, Catherine tate is hilarious! 😂😊
For decades, my favourite Master was Roger Delgado. Then came John Simm and Sasha Dhawan. The Rasputin dance was awesome, especially when the Dalek and Cyberman looked at each other.
The Sound of Drums with Voodoo Child was pretty good. The way Alexandra Moen starts dancing away to herself (the only one dancing) just makes it look like she was really enjoying that scene.
Best bit in that episode was when the Master killed Jack and then said, gleefully, “the great thing is, in a few minutes, I GET TO KILL HIM AGAIN!!” (Or something like that). Brilliant! Simms delivery (and general scene-stealing, was excellent!)
The Master posing as Rasputin served absolutely no purpose in the story other than to justify the musical number. It reminded me of when he disguised himself as an elderly mystic in "Time-Flight" and a scarecrow in "Mark of the Rani" for literally no reason other than "he's the Master and he uses disguises."
In my head I was hearing the Rasputin song before it actually played in the episode. I was gobsmacked when it started and I loved it. The Cyberman and Dalek confusion just added to the silly yet brilliant moment.
Peter Davison also spends a long while playing cricket in Black Orchid - I guess once a Doctor realizes his current incarnation is good at a sport, he loves showing it off!
Someone could argue wheeling out Capaldi's skills as a guitarist was just as "bad" but I think his appearance on the tank and shredding was one of the most epic moments ever 😀
"Impolite guests get to feel the back of my candy hand" Is the greatest line ever uttered in Doctor Who media and that's a hill I'm willing to die defending.
I feel like people are too harsh to Graham Crowden as Soldeed. If you didn't know, the labor strikes of 1979 had affected shooting schedules for the 17th season of doctor who to the point where they didn't have time to rehearse. Graham Crowden was hamming it up thinking it was a rehearsal, so he was horrified to learn that it was the only take.
That's an interesting point. Many TV shows were badly affected by the strikes, I remember Fawlty Towers too being affected by several different strikes. It really messed up lots of things at the time but I never thought about the legacy that created, let alone the invention of the Internet where it would be shown again for all to see forever. And judge Crowdens acting on!
Dr Who Christmas Special ... didn't happen as often as people think ... and wasn't always at Christmas ... ..and Ace stashing an emergency kit, including a baseball ball inside UNIT headquarters, in the floor of the Office of the leader of UNIT ... is perfection ...
Speaking of the Master, can’t forgot Simm’s Master Dancing to “The Sound of Drums” Rogue Traders before the Toclafane attacks, or then later in the same when he dances with his “wife” to Scissor Sisters and she just is over it and is stiff but he’s still having a party. 🎉
Fun fact: Crowden didn't realise the cameras were on. He thought that they were just rehearsing, which is why it's the way it is. And he laughs in the way down the wall. Genuinely an amazing actor though.
I remember watching the happiness patrol when I was 6 and the Kandy man terrified me. 😂 Probably the man reason Bertie Bassett freaks me out even now. 😂 It was the 80's....we had no internet..... 😂

Ra ra Rasputin was just embarrassing. Way too slow like disco on Fentanyl. The Master playing track 3, that is, "I Can't Decide" by the Scissor Sisters, was awesome.
“Here come the drums! Here come the drums!” The Master chewing the scenery. His wife just slightly moving to the beat. Should have been cringe, but was, well, masterful… and, from the same story, the torture and death of the journalist, where the Master keeps opening and closing the door, and her scream is still going. Anyway, these scenes add to the uniqueness of Doctor Who. They shouldn’t work, but they do.
If you include Sacha Dhawan's dance to Rasputin, there's another that I feel should get an honourable mention. Though, apparently this scene has been cut from the American version of the episode. In the 2007 Series 3 finale Last of the Time Lords, at one point John Simm's Master does a lip synch dance to the Scissor Sisters' I Can't Decide. Similarly, it's mad, it's bonkers, it's silly... But it is still kind of funny.
I'm in the U.S. and the I Can't Decide sequence was in the original broadcast, but subsequent showings cut it out. I think there might be some sort of copyright issues with it in the U.S., because I tried to buy it and no American vendor had it, including Amazon.

Hi Ellie, thank you for your wonderful work. I have been watching Doctor Who since 1963. nah the people antagonizing old who fans are the DEI masters retconning and shaming the male characters for woke brownie points. That's why ratings are lower than they've ever been. They have no respect for the source material or the fandom. Sontarans don't even eat, they take in nutrients through their probic vent at the back of their heads, which is also their weakspot. But they had to make the strong warrior guy into a gluttonous slob and turn him into a traitor, willing to sell out his race for chocolate.
If by "love," you mean "violently revile;" then yes you are right. Especially the ones from 11 and 13. The Master dancing to Rasputin is the biggest, most vile insult to the entire series.
The final scene of "Destiny of the Daleks" (Fourth, Romana II) they're throwing boulders away from the TARDIS as if they're made of gray-painted styrofoam or something.
Oh I bloody loved this compilation you've done! They used Candyman in Big Finish with the Eighth Doctor, it was a great concept but I had no memory of how he'd looked on tv.... Probably for the best 😂
I will defend the Kandyman to my dying breath. He's sinister as hell. The saccharine, silly nature of his appearance just makes the disturbing way he kills people even more horrific.
I hated the Rasputin scene, because it's a prime example of why Chibnall is an awful writer and the worst thing to ever happen to Who. He stole this entire scene from "The Kings Man". I feel like the whole thing became part of Who cos he saw the movie and was like "Yeah thats great, I'll throw that in an episode for some filler."
The most unrealistic thing in Doctor Who is the CyberMasters and Daleks not laughing their heads off watching The Master dance. I know they can’t laugh canonically (at least the Cybermen and their variants) but come ON! That dancing was SO DUMB it should have broke canonicity.
I absolutely love a lot of these moments, especially ra ra Rasputin and the tenth doctor and the host in voyage of the damned. That said the one thing I didn’t like at all out of this list was the Sontaran liking chocolate. No. Just no. Ruins the Sontarans more than Strax did
Keep your eyes peeled for a rather fun cameo in this one! 👀
Omg, that RockEmSockEm Seán!!!!
The part that makes the Ra Ra Rasputin dance the best is when the dalek and cyberman give each other a "WTF?!" look.
Never seen a dalek and a cyberman look so confused! 🙈😂
They're literally like "we're getting payed right"
This moment was the best bit of the episode.!
They remember what happened the last time he danced
As cringy as it was, it still felt like a Master thing to do.
I loved the Dalek and Cybermaster looking at each other like "Wtf is he doing???" during the Rasputin dance xD
That moment made the whole thing a classic.
I'm happy that you mentioned the Ra Ra Rasputin moment, but seriously why is everyone overlooking the look the Dalek and Cyberman give each other as if to say "we said yes to this"
Dalek: "I said no to this First."

I think the Dr & Donna signing to each other and getting caught was a great silly moment. RUN.
Then there's Victory of the Daleks where the ironside Dalek asks "Would you care for some tea?"

Graham Crowden was an actor considered by Barry Letts as a potential Fourth Doctor. Keep that in mind when watching The Horns of Nimon.

Rasputin should’ve been the return of the monk, the meddling it should’ve been the episode in the vein of how, the monk got his habit
I hate almost all of these. The exception is Venusian Aikido, which is awesome.
I wish Classic Who was available bc I need to watch the Happiness Patrol so so much! ^^
Is it true what I heard that Graham Crowden actually audition once for the role of The Doctor? If anyone can verify that please.
The most unrealistic thing in Doctor Who is the CyberMasters and Daleks not laughing their heads off watching The Master dance. I know they can’t laugh canonically (at least the Cybermen and their variants) but come ON! That dancing was SO DUMB it should have broke canonicity.
Fun fact about Boney M. Only one of them could actually sing, and she was just a backing singer. They were there just to look good.
Rasputin over I can't decide? Really?
Host says "With that in mind", DRINK!
Some of those were just dumb Doctor Who moments that were just plain dumb or embarrassing.
The #1 made me laugh like crazy
"...or Jodie Whittaker kicking the Pting like a football."
*WHEEZE*
Surely the TARDIS self destruct button aka a jammy dodger has got to be on the list? That's classic goofy doctor who.
When Ra Ra Rasputin came on during that episode I lost my mind. I never thought I would ever hear that song in any TV or movies.
The current Master is so entertaining because he is so bat-crap-crazy.
*searches for "Ellie Littlechild"*
FBI OPEN UP!!!!
I absolutely love a lot of these moments, especially ra ra Rasputin and the tenth doctor and the host in voyage of the damned. That said the one thing I didn’t like at all out of this list was the Sontaran liking chocolate. No. Just no. Ruins the Sontarans more than Strax did
I was ill last weekend and in my fever dreams, I could not get Ra Ra Rasputin out of my head. It was stuck there and the master would not get out.
There are far worse fever dreams to have!
